A 24 Hour Travel day from Cappadocia, Turkey to Skopje, North Macedonia.
We spend most of the time in the IGA Lounge in Istanbul, trying all the food, exploring all the amenities and spaces but the best of all is being able to catch up on some sleep in the Sleep Pods.
How do we get into lounges?
We use PriorityPass which allows you access to most lounges in most airports.
A definite must for a long layover in Istanbul.

Great video! Are there any time limits in terms of how long you're allowed to stay in the lounge? And did you go in using Priority Pass?

Hey TheBlooRayChannel Thank you! :D Yes, we used priority pass. I'm not sure about the time limit but I don't really think so no. If the lounge is very full they will only let you in a certain amount of hours before your flight departs. But we've never had issues with a time limit. :D

@@KinfolkTravels awesome! We're arriving at around 5.30pm in Istanbul and have a 10 hour layover. Hopefully it won't be super busy by then, especially it being a Sunday night.

@thebloorahchannel Nah, you shouldn’t have an issue. Enjoy the lounge I hope they’ve lifted some lockdown things and that there’s a bigger variety of food now :D

The website says IGA lounge is valid for 4 hrs. The cost is 50 Euros per adult. Not sure how you guys were able to stay longer.

Loved this video. I'll be flying Turkish in a month and have 8 hr layover and deciding to try IGA lounge, that's how I came to your video. I hope the channel blows up! Definitely would love to see more video uploads. 📹

Hey@@nagomizik9358! If you have a priority pass subscription or Lounge Key (it often comes free with bank cards) you can enter the lounge for free and use the sleeppods as well at no additional cost. Check with your bank if it includes LoungeKey or otherwise if you do travel a lot try priority pass. (I think there are other options as well but these are the ones I'm familiar with). Just curious, did you have to reddem/pay for lounge access multiple times during your 14 hr stay. I had similar layover and I booked hotel. Wondering doing what you did would have been easier!!

Hi Savindy, I am not sure. I did not see any pets when we were in there but you can try and email them. I did however see a lot of pets in the airport in the communal areas so If the pet is not allowed into the lounge there is plenty of spaces to hang out with your pet inside the airport. It is very pet friendly. I think the lounge might allow it but I am not 100% sure.

Hey Doug, thank you! No need for a Turkish Visa to access the lounge. The Lounge is in the international transit area in which you can stay visa free until your next flight. Happy Travels ✈️

Can you buy access to the lounge at the desk upon arrival without priority pass?

Hi! Yes, you usually can. But it is pricey, so if you travel a lot priority pass is definitely more worth it. (And on priority pass / lounge key two people can go in with the one pass but if you buy a pass at the counter you have to buy 2 passes). I think you can pay off your priority pass / lounge key for the year for the price of buying lounge access for one person two or three times. So as a couple you’ll probs pay off your priority pass / lounge key after going to the lounge twice. FYI, not sponsored by priority pass / lounge key😅 we get it free with the bank account.

@@JennandLeon hahahah, yes, that was the worst. We were in Istanbul a while before this video for an overnight layover and we were so excited to go to the lounge and then it was all still closed. But definitely look into it if you'll be doing more flights now after the pandemic. Even smaller airports gives access like the lounge in Tirana Albania which was super cute!

Are the IGA sleep pods part of the IGA lounge or in a separate place/cost?

Hi Sadi, It’s included in the cost for up to 3hours if I remember correctly. Its not in the same place. It’s on a lower level than the longue and probably about 200-300 meters away.

Hi! It depends on how busy the lounge is. I think there is usually a 3-hour limit but I’ve never seen it being enforced. We’ve stayed in the lounge for much longer than 3 hours and didn’t have any issues. So yes, most likely you can stay for 10-hours without spending additional fees.

Hello!! Thank you as thank you for watching! The name is: IGA Lounge Where is it: just look for the lounge signs -> and then follow it the IGA lounge sign How much: it is free for some bank cards. To pay I’m not exactly sure the cost you can check on their website but it is usually around $30-$60.

Hello my husband is flying to Toronto from Istanbul but doesn't have a credit card or working phone number. Am I able to purchase the IGA lounge pass online and send the QR code to him to use?

Hi Maryam, I’m not sure but I think that can work. There is free WiFi in the airport so if he has WhatsApp / Facebook or another message app you can communicate with him and talk to the receptionist at the IGA Lounge to help him get in :)

@@maryamakbari2411 yes! All the food are free. All the waters, soft drinks, coffees and teas are also free. Free showers as well and free place to store your luggage.

Hello! It is usually between $30-$50. Buy can also access it for free if you have a lounge membership or certain credit cards.

Hi! When having a long layover one usually pics a spot to sit and stay there for the duration. (It’s a mission moving around with bags). The lounge also fills up very quickly so if you move to a table it’s unlikely that you get a nice comfy spot for 2 people that fit all your bags again. :) In the lounge one also usually eat small snacks so moving up and down from table to comfy area is really defeating the purpose of relaxing in the lou ge between flights. Hope it answers your question :)
