No matter the dating of the site or the origin of the inhabitants, it is a beautiful magical place. When you drive into the park the silence is as unique as the mounds.

C.Columbus again landed in the Bahamas and it took awhile before the Spanish landed in Florida and made there way to Alabama. But while in the other side of the country they were already there. St Augustine is the oldest settlement in the USA and not Jamestown.

My Tribe's word for the Earth means sphere. The overall concept of the sky world feathered serpent vs underworld vs water panther held all over pre colonial western hemisphere doesn't work if the "world is flat"

Mounds make perfect sense , why not build mounds to live on , to grow on , to hunt on, etc

Considering the population there perhaps a Malthusian Cycle ended this civilization.

Sorry, but you can not prove anything you have talked about. I am an old historian and I can prove it was not Indians. A question for you: where did the Indians come from? Bruce Howard

Watch out for yourself. You know not what you speak of. It's a Fact that is was the Native people that lived there and burial grounds.
