I found a video that may help people optimize their speed, if Starlink doesn't have them properly configured. It's entitled, "This Made My Starlink Faster More Reliable And Lower Latency".

I watched this guys video and it’s similar to others videos where they claim it makes their connection faster, but it was probably fine to begin with. What I’m getting at is that he was probably running a VPN in Virginia, forgot about it and suffered from increased latency since he’s from FL. I use a VPN to make it seem like I’m in Kansas City so I can stream the Chiefs game. I’ll use a VPN when I’m in Germany so it thinks I’m in the US so I can use my streaming services that aren’t available in Germany. BUT, if you forget to disconnect it, it adds latency and throttles your connection. It has nothing to do with StarLink though.

Thanks for posting these tests, Brian. It helps us evaluate whether to proceed or not. Are you still finding the daytime speeds to be considerably faster and the main congestion times in the evening?

Yeah, daytime is perfect and always over 50Mbps, usually over 90Mbps. Even the night time during the week isn’t too bad. The biggest congestion time is between 7:30pm and 9:30pm on Sunday, which is why I do these speed tests then. I work from home now and NEVER have any problems during the day. I download big files/programs from Germany while using VoIP and never had any issue.

@@1Octane1 this was when I was still on their “Best Effort” payment tier. It’s gotten much better and the only time I have issues is during hurricane level rain storms.

These look better than some fist gen dsl copper service speeds in remote areas but your equipment and monthly cost outlay for this level of service really turn this into a tough proposition for me but of course I'm not in your shoes.

Remember, this video I have done at the most congested time of the most congested day. I’m showing you the absolute worst it will be. During the daytime I pull 80-100Mbps constantly. At night time, I pull 30-50Mbps on all nights OTHER than Sunday night.

I live in northwest Georgia. Georgia the state in the US, not the county.
