140MPH Near Crash In BMW M2 Competition | Castle Combe
Hello all and welcome back to another Video, where you join me and the BMW M2 Competition on track at Castle Combe. We all know just how good the M2 is on some tasty back roads, but how well does a completely stock M2 Competition hold up on track? I nearly binned it going into Quarry with a bit too much speed and lots of brake fade. Nevertheless I'm still here to tell the tale. Doesn't look so bad on cam, but cacked my pants a bit after the
numerous crashes that have occurred there.
Today we find out with the help of Racelogic and Fourstroke media where we had the track exclusively to ourselves!

Castle Combe is the first track I ever drove on. About 34 years ago I used to attend an under 16 drivers club! My mum's grey B reg Escort XR3i used to get as much as a 14 year old would push a car under a father's instruction. Good memories. Don't remember 2 chicanes if I'm honest. Looks like you had a blast. Looking at Bedford Aerodrome and Brands Hatch over the next year, then Nordschliefe next year. Would love Spa too, at some point, just a very high speed flowing bend track that needs a bit more than a few laps of the M25 to get used to those speeds and corners..😱 love the Mulgari Icon3..... beautiful looking car. Nice vid thanks for the upload 😊

Your correct, chicanes were added in the early 90s to slow it down. I tracked my 944 turbo on the original layout, could get some great drive without having to slow for them. Did the mark cole driving course there in about 88/89 in 205 gti. Learnt a lot.

Oh shit dude not what I wanted to hear, I was about to bite the bullet on the EBC brake conversation after destroying a brand new set of original discs at Bedford, it didn’t look an especially hot day and yes Castle is really hard on brakes but ‘grumbling’ and ‘really hot’ not what I wanted to hear 🤷🏻‍♂️… M2 brakes really the cars Achilles heal ..but nicely driven, quick… ( are you sure the cars standard I reckon it revs out better than mine …🤔

Hey man! Tbf they held up really well I think I just pushed the car too hard. They seem ok now and I think they’re good for another track day. It’s just castle is a very fast track and when braking north of 120 most bends it takes its toll. And yes bro stock as far as I’m aware haha
