We aren't worried about that due to the slack that is in the chains holding the arm out. This slack will absorb any impact to the wrist mechanism by allowing the arm to move up and down slightly on impact
Why use different ones? Do they all have a unique feature? And thank you for replying, i wasn’t sure about these misumi slides but after seeing this vid, it helped ALOT
@@BotBuilders-Robotics also this might be too much to ask, but I know misumi slides are hard to assemble cause you have no instructions and u have to make everything, it’s my first year and I’m tryna learn how to do this stuff, do you know where I could look to help me out? I move been using go builda slides but they rlly suck compared to misumi
Our sponsor Building Block Robotics purchases all of the misumi slides in bulk from Misumi. Then they provide the slides we need for our robots for free. This is their website: buildingblockrobotics.com/ We've experimented with GoBilda viper slides, we don't really like them.
We needed different lengths for intake horizontal extension (to maximise extension with the space available), and we needed shorter ones for vertical extension (to keep the robot under the stage door). Then we wanted the SAR320 for the arm extension so that we could use a linkage, rather than rigging to extend it.
