Show me some Bonsai and I guarantee you I will just stand there and stare as I marvel at the skills and vision that is required to create these masterpieces of pruning and detailed creative care.
At Chelsea Flower Show this year there were some beautiful specimens on display, some in flower, some with with very old trunks and pleasantly distorted shapes - as you would see in nature - and one that was 'born' in the 1870's so about 145 years old ... imagine pruning a tree for that long?!!
There also some delightful little 'mame' Bonsai which are seriously tiny .. and yet still perfectly formed!
