A maximum 147 break at the World Snooker Championship is every player's dream. Kyren Wilson achieved this accolade in 2023 at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, England. In this video Barry, Kyren's Coach since the age of 13, shares analysis and comments on his shots and technique that helped him to achieve this.

Kyren is for sure 1 step from winning WC. He maybe just needs some luck. Because all aspects of his game are great. He must be proud to have such a wise coach.

You must have felt,as we say here in the states, "like a proud papa" as you him complete that break. I have a young player that I coach in American pool,and I too am proud of the way he has progressed over the last few years. He always finishes in the money in almost every tournament he enters. Even though it is not on a world stage, it still makes me feel good when he plays well. I really hope Mr. Wilson goes on to be a champion for a long time to come. Not just for himself, but to also honor his coach. Ty for sharing this with us Mr. Stark!

Watching Kyren hit the maximum gave me goosebumps! Great lad and a terrific player. Your analysis of the break made more special and informative Mr Stark. You are a fountain of snooker knowledge! Thank you for all the informative videos! Me and my 10 year old son are watching one every time we go for training and apply your tips. Keep posting :) wishing you well!

Well done Kyren, well done coach. I remember watching this on TV and thinking about how he approached every shot, that repetitive action was key especially when running slightly out of position. I’ve recently returned to the game and thoroughly enjoying it… and your videos are a great help, Thank you Mr Stark 🥃🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

VERY informative, thanks. I knew from one of your previous videos Wilson had a long cue - 59" or 60"? - but I hadn't noticed until you pointed it out, what a long backswing he had too. "Let the cue do the work", I'm going to remember that, thanks! And lovely you personal connection, too. I always thought Wilson had the best pre-shot routine for club players like myself to copy, because it is so step by step uniform. People criticise that as "robotic" - but as you say, when you're under pressure, you want to be a robot!
@BarryStarkSnookerCoach
@BarryStarkSnookerCoach Год назад
matthew. Whether you are playing in the club or in the world championships there is always some sort of pressure to contend with, with out doubt a pre-shot routine will help you to overcome it.

I can only imagine the tension and nerves for many of those shots. Landing nicely on the next object ball would be like a momentary relief. I would be paralyzed just playing at the Crucible let alone in the world champs and making a 147 hehe. I suspect even for a seasoned pro, that scenario would be exhausting. I think someone like Ronnie, with his current attitude of just wanting to enjoy playing and his past experiences must give him a great advantage and he is so fit... Good to see you Barry and lovely to see your pride. Kyren will be champion one day I believe :) He just needs to channel his desire. It can be such a chaotic force to hold in ones body. But what do I know anyway ;)
@BarryStarkSnookerCoach
@BarryStarkSnookerCoach Год назад
Music. I also believe that Kyren will win the big one but then my view is slightly biased. You are right about experience and fitness, you have to experience these things to be comfortable with them. Then if you want them to last keep yourself fit, several top players are benefitting from losing weight and doing a little exercise.

can you please tell me which hip do you sit on when you are about go to down ? i think i over turn my hip or i might be sitting on wrong hip, my cue butt is always to the left of line of aim, offline. and i am sure the hip is causing it, do you sit on your right hip or left hip ? my right leg (leading leg) from behind looks like this \ and lots of gap between grip hand and the trouser pocket. please help me thank you

Barry, this was a treat to watch. Very insightful. Thank you! If I may ask a question - when I play for longer periods, I get pain in my bridge arm and left shoulder/neck. Do you have any tips to reduce tension? I've tried stretching etc.
@BarryStarkSnookerCoach
@BarryStarkSnookerCoach Год назад
Jim. Very difficult to advise on this without a proper diagnosis, the continual lifting of the head can cause a slight muscle imbalance around the cervical vertebrae for some players. My advice is to get a proper assessment from a physiotherapist and take it from there.

@BarryStarkSnookerCoach Yesterday I miscued the cue ball and it jumped over red ball and then it touched the black ball, so my question is, is that a foul of 4 or 7, I was convinced that it was a foul of 4 as when it jumped the red ball that instance only it was a foul, and as no illegal ball was pocketed so it will remain a foul of 4, but many are syaing that it's a foul of 7, can you please clear this rule out.
@BarryStarkSnookerCoach
@BarryStarkSnookerCoach Год назад
@ark. I am afraid that you are wrong, it is seven points away, the fact that no illegal ball was potted is irrelevant.
