Hello Stfuz. The material is high density polyethylene known as starboard or sea board. The dimensions are 14 long x 1 wide x 0.75 thick. Because the 11 plate stud holes cannot also be used for mounting the single tank adapters, those holes have to be drilled either above or below the plate stud holes. I use 1 inch between the holes center to center. We can also make one for you if you would prefer not to have to be bothered with having to do it yourself. If you are not already a subscriber, please consider do so.
Can you share the dimensions of the spacer? I dive side mount most of the time but there a few situations like big waves, small boat or heavy current where side mount just doesn’t fit the bill best and this would be great for redundancy and similar config as I have several plates and wings gathering dust. Thanks for the idea and the material is King Starboard?

The thru the plate method is not as rigid as the DTA method which is really rigid as the tanks are mostly held in place by the tank band tension. So, the bands have to be really tight. With the DTA method, they are pinned against the edges of the DTA. I have dove successfully with the thru the plate method for a few years, so there is nothing wrong with it other than it takes a lot longer to switch back and forth.
Hello. I describe my current configuration in video #146 Independent backmount doubles in Bonaire 2023. However, I use a uncommon first stage, the Mares 72x. So, I will release one soon showing different configurations with more common types of first stages. What model first stage do you use?
