In ASE, I got to 6000+ hours of gameplay before I found out about custom recipes, I felt like a fool, now they're one of the first things I do when I start a new playthrough.

To get the defecate option you don't need more, you just need to lose stamina. To lose stamina easily you can just place a pillar at an height you can barely get under while standing up, and a ceiling on top, then keep jumping to lose stamina fast. The ceiling stops your jump, making your next jump be faster. After a few cycles of stamina draining the food you should get the option to defecate.

When using the grinder to level tames you can also have some lystros nearby, pet them before starting the grind and they give an added xp boost to the tames. I think it stacks with up to 3 or maybe 5 lystros.

Also, using the toilet gives another xp buff of 30% for 2 minutes.

DON'T craft soap to convert org polymer, use Metal Arrows. You use 1 org poly and 1 cement paste and you get 1 org poly and 1 cement paste back if you grind that metal arrow in a grinder Edit : You lose 2 Metal Ingots, 2 Wood and 2 Thatch per metal arrow craft and shred but those are relatively easy farm back up

Yo Teach, thanks for those tips, really great. Especially the flyer and the use of custom recipes. I do have a suggestion for a video : Hesperornis and all the fuzz about the golden egg. Maybe a farm if it works ? Since the Rhyniognatha cravings can use them, they can be very valuable to have in stock.

Also remember using the toilet gives a brief (two minutes, I think) xp bonus of 30%. So you can combine that with your grinder or giga infanticide technique. 😮

Great tips. I just have one more: To move certain things from one inventory to another faster, press T and keep moving quickly your cursor over all the stuff you want to transfer. It is more faster than just stay with cursor still.

I have some tips when you start a new survivor go into the water to harvest seaweed so you get nothing but fiber then use those to craft pants (4 exp each, the other cloth clothing is only 3 exp) and you can level up very fast this way. Then you can start just crafting other building pieces until you get large crop plot and just make tons of large crop plots to level fast. This can get you through first levels very fast with new survivor.

On the procoptadon, do you not have to have the female being mate boosted, in order to get the double imprint? That's the way it was on ASE.

That stimberry taming is definitely changed from ASE, used to be you could use stim berries to drain the food bar so that they will eat all at once rather then every 2 minutes. Still ruined efficiency though

Do you use some mods to have that larger image of the game FOV (char looks smaller) and those stronger colors in game (specially those nice clouds) I run in full epic (4090 here) but my game doesn’t look that good, please advise

You could probably increase Digital Vibrance in the Nvidia control panel for better colors. Idk about the fov though

Monitor plays huge part of colors. Different bands have different colors also Oled Lcd.

All caves on the server I play on are occupied by other tribes so we have to get cementing paste and other materials without use of caves.

Hey, Teach. Have you run into an issue with pearl nodes being unminable in a undersea cave just slightly North of the small Northeast island? I found that cave, and tons of silica pearl nodes, but I cannot mine them. I even tried to jump above them (I guess that is the "loot jump" (?), but still cannot harvest the nodes. (Coords 22.5x52.4) Note: Playing on XBsX.

if that is the pearl cave with the fiber all over than the hitboxes of some pearls are broken (also on PC), tried to farm them by hand, by cheating dinos in etc but they seem to have no hitbox, the hitbox is way under the mesh or they used the wrong appearance for stone or something. Hopefully they fix that at some point but it still is WC so I wouldnt bet on it

@@Terrorcooky1 Ok, glad to see it wasn't just a singular glitch. Thanks for the info and insight. I'll avoid that cave until I find out it's been fixed....meantime, there are other places to check out....and there are some relatively shallow areas with sparse deposits of silica pearls.

@@snazzythesnaz Aye, sorry, I used "mining" as a catch all phrase. I meant gather, but just said mining. Yeah, I've tried gathering with the Y button, and even trying to jump directly above them and gather to see if that makes any difference, but no avail. There's a glitch in that cave regarding the silica pearls.

How can I keep my tames fed during this time? Im on console on official. I have also checked if I could use cloud play but I do not see that option available. TIA

Cooked meat last the longest. Better to have a tribe mate keep things in order though. Or if u can get a tek through...its refrigerated

The thought of a tek trough is appealing but not likely to happen in 6 days on a server that is on Its 2nd day. Who knows tho..maybe I can get it worked out

@@btrus6403cooked meat has a lower food value so they will eat the pieces sooner and you will get less spoilage. If you have both types in the trough they will not eat any of the raw until the cooked is gone. Cooked also has bigger stacks so that also helps with the efficiency.

Anyone else having issues with there radial wheel not working I'm on Playstation and everytime I go into my own wheel or my dinos I can't access most my stuff like my emotes and Dino behavior and harvest settings anyone else having this issue and if so is there a way to fix it

Are the gamma keybinds disabled on official servers? I used to use them all the time in ASE, but they don't seem to be working for me in ASA. The game seems a little lighter overall, though, so I haven't really been missing those as much as I thought I would.

The gamma settings have to be assigned under key bindings should be on the far right bottom of the bindings on PC anyway.

I'm not on official, run my own dedicated server for family. That said, gamma settings are enabled on my server for use. I cannot use the keybinds at all, they do nothing when I assigned them. Instead, if you can, do 'gamma 4.0' and 'gamma 2.2' in console. They aren't something you need admin to do. Hopefully WC fixes the keybind option.

Yes I've noticed the same thing. I'm on official small tribes PvP and it seems the gamma key binds are disabled. The others seem to be working though.

I have 4k HDR 144hz monitor and everything is fine with HDR on in Ark. Without HDR it's too bright or too dark but with HDR it's always okay.

I can go directly over where the map icon is and loot cache is gone. done know if they just fall through the map or what. last time i died 300m from my base and loot was gone by the time i got there

Wrong tip w 3 parts scuba gear. Its not like you can choose the parts. Its head chest and pants, if you dont have all three then dont waste your time tryna go into swamp cave. Flippers dont count as part and since theres no gloves

always thought adjusting any of the visual settings is lame, you arent really playing the game in its immersive environment, youre changing it up to make things easier for you....lame

We didn't used to be able to adjust gamma and the game was first person only. It was great at night you could sneak around and actually get up behind someone. Players had to decide if using a light source to see was worth it or not in pvp since the light source gives away your position.

@@LawAbidingCitizenHelloOfficer Third person was not on official servers for quite a while it was an option that could be turned on on private servers I want to say third person came around about when they let us start changing gamma. When riding a dino you got an orbital / 3rd person camera but not on foot.

Not one of those things is bad, it's like it's gone back to the old fun way, need a quetz for transport, No more zippy boys at 200% movement. The tek stuff didn't come till ext, the other stuff didn't come on the island, it's good , worst vid you have done teach
