David Landes - Wealth and Poverty of Nations (Why and how the West dominates the world) 3. Edward Gibbons - Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire (One of the greatest books ever written) 4. Oswald Spengler - Decline of the West (Cycles of History)

I would like to recommend a quick read on the history of the Renaissance, which is such a pivotal time in Western civilization. A World Lit Only By Fire, by WW2 USMC veteran and historian William Manchester. One of the best books ever. Also, on the Aztec empire, the book titled Aztec, by Gary Jennings. A historical novel but fascinating nonetheless.
My resolution this year is not only to watch these book videos.....but actually read them....I'm tired of living the same year every year and calling it a life....
This is a bunch of BS....Not one thing about the great African civilizations that predates Europe by 1000s of years. If you want the truth study African History not European history.
Wait a minute, you produce a video about books on empires (interesting topic by the way) and you don't mention even once the Spanish Empire? Are you serious? Why the constant stupid attitude against Spain and everything Spanish on this channel? Utterly pathetic. A big thumb down
