I'm disappointed that there aren't any jobs for wizards and witches in the arts, given the number of portraits lining the walls of Hogwarts. I notice that Prof. Flitwick conducts the Hogwarts choir. What about wizarding composers? John Williams, perhaps? Speaking of music...There's a wizarding rock band called the Weird Sisters.
I'm surprised you didn't bring up Luna's mom while talking about how cool it would be to invent magical things/spells -- she literally died from doing that, and I imagine there are many people in the long term ward at St Mungo's who were inventors as well. While a fun vocation, it's probably one of the most dangerous.
Wouldn't dragonologist just be a magizoologist who specialises in dragons? So really should just fall under that entry and not have an entry of it's own
Tbh as an artist I really wanna find out how to paint a moving portrait. I know you have to develop the film of a camera *just right* to have moving photos but what about paintings? Can I paint something in Picasso's or Van Gogh's style and have it move or does it have to hit a certain amount of realism to be able to move? Imagine abstract art moving xD Great Video btw :D
Not sure. But. I believe to have a cognitive moving portrait of a witch or wizard you must include in your pigments a portion of said magical being. IE hair fingernails etc. Animals also move in portraits. Nothing dark. Just some part of the subject. I’m quite sure Sir Codogan’s pony was his pony in life.
Hogwarts should also have had a championship in the books. I would have preferred Ron Weasley nervous about the final game of chess instead of Quidditch. Also an excellent career option for him later. I also have a theory that Voldemort, McGonagall and maybe Dumbledore were Hogwarts chess champions (assuming the championship exists).
@@telmoneves9402 I'd be all for it. I would have loved to see Ron face a non-Malfoy Slytherin foe in a Hogwarts championship, instead of suffering on the Quidditch field. Would have lead to more natural love interest plot lines as well.
You missed out the job I would love to do, herbologist its so interesting and a very skilled job too, and could also be a bit on the dangerous side too.
I'm thinking Potions Master would be one of the best jobs, specifically if you had your own apothecary store. Selling medicinal potions to those that need it or working at St. Mungo's hospital making the healing potions would be a good job that would be very much in demand. So if you could brew perfect potions, or work on further improving or modifying existing ones to be better effective for healers to use, then it might be a useful trade that would be popular.
Still putting out quality content Dean ! Your video's helped me trough some of the darkest times of my life 🙏 Really wish that the channel gets picked up by the algoritme again because your content deserves it ! Keep going strong 💪
I think jobs that they have the magical world that they also have in the muggle world. Like what about magical builders and plumbers. Even something like being a cleaner could be so amazing.
Assuming I'd be a Muggleborn wizard, I'd be very interested in Muggle Studies. Maybe there are anthropological careers out there? I'd love to share stories of Muggle history and culture with magical friends. Maybe I'd even try to get the Muggle Studies teaching job at Hogwarts.
In the teacher category you mentioned umbridge, and that they missed the mark. Hogwarts didn’t make her a teacher, she was appointed by the ministry of magic due to corruption. Otherwise a very enjoyable take on the topic even if a few occupations were left out.
If I'm not mistaken, the Headmaster or Headmistress got to hire the teachers and the Governors (a board of trustees) hired the Headmasters and Headmistresses. The Ministry just came up with laws that forced the school to do what they wanted and used Umbridge to execute an iron fist on education.
Some new and interesting content. Still making riveting videos. Actually looking at some of the "mundane" aspects of wizarding life can be interestiny to us muggles.
For my part, I always imagined myself as a MagiHistorian. After all, history and lore have always been my thing, even without knowing it, and I kind of like being the wizarding equivalent of Indiana Jones, splitting my time between teaching and field research.
@@wolves600 How many of them ARE there? Most people who die try to move on to the afterlife, and if they don't, you can INTERVIEW them. 💡❕ Besides, Binns isn't THAT old, and he talksabut things he wasn't there for, either. Face it, trolls: my idea is LEGIT, and your teasing isn't half as effective as you think. 😆
@@TheSaneHatter there is only 1 teacher at Hogwarts per subject so likely there is the same thing for the other schools so there would only need to be 15
Number 1 being a teacher at Hogwarts. Get paid and never teach a thing and when a kid gets lippy set them next to harry potter soon or later they will get taken out.
I'd wanna be a wandmaker. Since seeing the scene where Harry gets his wand I fell in love with wandmaking. I've only made 2 wands and have others half finished. I love wood as a medium and like how artistic wandmaking can be and I'm not an artsy person by nature. The one thing I find a bummer is that lack of cool wand cores in the United States due to the small amount of magical creatures found here.
You forgot the position of Wizarding Representative to the Galactic Republic. His position allows the individual holding immunity from the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy, and requires one to act as a bridge of communication between the Republic/Jedi Order, who have a very high degree of control over Wizarding affairs, (although due to the requirement of being on Coruscant for most of the position, and the overall attitude of earth, very few magical people actually know this position exists), and the various International Wizarding Governments. The position is currently held by Hero Factory Bio-Mech Diplomat Unit 0002, who also serves as security for Hero Factory Founder Mr. Akiyama Makuro when on Coruscant. She is very nice. Rockatoa, Hero Factory Bio-Mech Recon Unit 0001 Brickticks out!
This was a very informative video since I wasn’t even aware about some of these jobs, or at least didn’t know it could be considered a job, such as duelist and Obliviator.
I read somewhere that aurors r like the FBI. I don't know what job I would like, but I mostly just wanna fly cause I've had 8 dreams in my life of flying, 2 were on brooms, for real. And want magic to make things better too.
I think that robe maker or designer are also interesting jobs. I like idea of using magic to make clothes. I like also idea of use magical plants for dyeing or material making. I have theory that some magical animals are on verge of extinction because of demand of rich witches and wizards for exotic materials like furs and skins.
If I was able to have any job that I wanted in the wizarding world, I would choose to be a Hogwarts professor and I would like to teach either DADA or Care of Magical Creatures.
I always imagined tailor would be a pretty cushy job in the Wizarding World. We've seen in Fantastic Beasts how witches and wizards can change their clothes at a whim. So I have it in my mind that being a wizarding tailor is basically akin to Piccolo's clothes making beam in Dragon Ball Z.
I didn’t know Obliviator was a job I thought it was just the Ministry of Magic obliviating Muggle minds that witnessed Wizards/Witches using magic. I’m curious how many Muggles saw Harry’s Aunt like a Balloon flying around the neighborhood? That must have been a lot of work to obliviate all those minds. Could a Curse Breaker get rid of the Curse on Dumbledore’s hand?
I never quite understood why wizards need an economic system with actual money. I mean by lore-logic and based on what the average wizard/witch is capable of, it makes almost no sense. It seems like it is more a consequence of muggle influence on the magic world. Also, it would be infinitely interesting to see religion being explored in some form, I mean to see how wizards view figures such as the Buddha, Jesus, Mohammed, Zoroaster etc. or the idea of organised religion in general.
@@christopherdean1326 Normally a distinction is made between civil servants pushing paper, and those doing actual work. Otherwise most nations wouldn't have jobs like "Teacher", "Judge" or "Nurse" as these ultimately work for the government.
No, it would be ironic if the were called "Unspeakables" but could talk about their work, or if they were called "Speakables" but can't like they can't speak about it. Its ironic to call a big guy Little John, a slow guy Speedy, or a fat guy Skinny. Its just rude or accurate to call them what they are.
Do you honestly believe New Students from EVERY Wizarding School on the planet go to Olivanders for their First Wand⁉️ I find that assumption IMPOSSIBLE to even attempt to rationalize. I am sure that EVERY Wizarding Community has their fair share of capable Wand Makers.
I'd like to be an author in the wizarding world. It seems like an underated job, but seems pretty rewarding, especially if your books become best sellers. I wonder how much Newt Scamander earned when his book Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them became not only an incredible best seller, but also part of the Hogwarts curriculum?
I really like these 'exploring the world' videos, rather than the let's explain something straight from the books/films (e.g. Neville and the prophecy) videos. Really good stuff.
Funnily enough, I agree about #1. When I imagined myself what my story in the wizarding world would be (and I like to imagine things a lot), I ended up being a wand maker for part of my life. There's no way I wouldn't experiment with various cores, materials, shapes etc. if I were a wizard. Maybe I would end up creating something that doesn't even look like a wand anymore. If any object can be used to channel magic, who's to say the wand we know is the most optimal one. If the magic Rowling described was real, I have a serious suspicion the wizarding community has not pushed this area to its limits, yet. Hell, supposedly the most powerful wand in existence was created hundreds of years ago- the sheer fact there haven't been any progress in that area for such a long time suggests the wand making process has stagnated and could use some creative brains.
I'd like to add, unspeakables do other things than study death and the veil, they also study subjects such as time, love and space. Correct me if I'm wrong. Great video!
@@alexandermarshall7326 Yeah, I forgot about that brain room. Thanks! I thought it would be really cool if we had more in-lore information about all these rooms in the Department of Mysteries. But I guess they wouldn't be a mystery if we knew, eh?
a lot of these seem fun cause of magic but then in the end a auror is basicly a soldier or a cop, and a broom maker might just be a type of factory work like car making or bike making. i think id like to be a vet for magical pets or perhaps own a restaurant in hogsmeade or godrics hollow if i couldnt be a healer
do you guys think is there some sort of lawyer type of job in the wizarding world? and if there is, i think i'd definitely be interested about learning about their laws (probably while simultaneously roasting at how stupid some can be)
I've been thinking about this exact topic a lot lately this has been wonderful and rewarding to watch. I'd love to have seen in the books, movies or extended lore herbologists and magical botanists studying plants, since I recall wolfsbane being quite rare. Also magical musical shows, historians would be very cool.
