Pretty lady, thank you so much for this video. Part of the reason I thank you is not only because it was well made and you described the places eloquently and the footage was clear and beautiful, but also because before this video I honestly thought that Pike Place was just a fish market. I had no idea it wasn't whole experience so thank you so much and Peace.
I enjoyed your Pike Place food tour. My wife and I flew to Seattle (from Milwaukee Wisconsin) for our 20th anniversary at the beginning of July in 2013 (10 days of zero rain!). We used the light rail into downtown every day, took local buses, ferries, the one mile mono-rail (to arrive as they did to the Space Needle during the '62 World's Fair), Amtrak Cascades train up the coast to Bellingham and back, but mostly A LOT of walking! We virtually went to Pike Place everyday. Went to Three Girl's Bakery several times and Pike Place Chowder three times. I highly recommend Bakery Nouveau in West Seattle. We found it by accident. We wanted a ferry ride and found the one that leaves near Pikes Place (very reasonable and scenic). Look it up, it's an international award winning bakery! Fabulous and charming (and a mega $'s gourmet coffee bar). In 2013 we ran into virtually no homelessness, what we saw never set off any alarms as to the future. Who knew....? Sure glad we went when we did!
Chris K thanks for the comment Chris!! I actually stayed an entire month in west Seattle as we filmed everything for this trip and I absolutely fell in LOVE with bakery nouveau too! AMAZING pastries and desserts. One of our very favorite spots.
Chris K we recently did a write up on our fav desserts in town. Thought you might like this: www.femalefoodie.com/restaurant-reviews/washington/seattle/best-dessert-in-seattle/
One place my extended family and I ALWAYS go to is Mee Sum Pastry. We get there early enough to make it our "breakfast while walking." They open at 8AM and if you happen to go on Sunday, you can park on the street for free. Thank you for your awesome video. I will be sure to come back and watch it again before I come to the market again.
Thanks for the post this was really helpful for my upcoming trip! Our hotel will be a few blocks away from Pike Place. Really love the way you structured your video with talking about the food then showing the actual food, and loved how you describe and critique the foods as well.
You are so welcome! Glad it was helpful. Make sure and check out this blog post for more helpful info plus a few other Seattle blog posts too! :) www.femalefoodie.com/restaurant-reviews/washington/seattle/pike-place-market/
Another tip for the chowder: avoid super long lines by going to the location at the Pacific Place mall. There may still be a line but it's significantly shorter than the line at the market. Alternatively, place your order online and then pick up the soup. Just beware that you're not supposed to sit in the eating area if you go with the online ordering.
This was so helpful! Thank you for making this video. You were not lying about about that chowder & that chocolate cookie! They were amazing and made my market experience so much more special💙🖤
This was a very helpful video for planning our trip to Pike Place! I tend to get overwhelmed in food markets with all the options, thank you for pointing out the best places to visit!
My favorite place to eat has always been Copacabana cafe. Their paella is the best. Great atmosphere. Eat on their deck during the summer, and people watch while eating.
This is an awesome video, and thank you for the reviews. I know things may change as of this writing with the pandemic and all, but hope to make the most of our one day stop there.
I enjoyed the refreshing production quality and the fact that there was something for everyone; still, I was hoping for your thoughts on 'Place Pigalle.'
I've got them all written down. My favorite spot in Seattle for sure! Been to alot of those places but twist my arm and I will go back again! thanks for your input!
Love this!!! Favorite place in the whole world....my fathers,s sculpture is on the third level on western Avenue....The Point....totally agree with all choices covered!!!!!!
I was sitting here watching this from my boat 0ff the coast of Mexico...My mind is spinning bc I'm from Seattle and can't believe you missed the Mee Sum Hom Bao! I've been known to fly all the way back up there just to get it again! it's been on every food network program and was a favorite of the late Anthony Bourdain. Otherwise, great program, well edited, liked and subscribed!
Checked out your vids and I’m currently starving now! I’m headed to Seattle with my wife in early November when I get back to the states. Anyway you can do me a solid and recommend some places to eat and drink? Pikes place is an automatic but anything aside from that
Hi Julio! You're going to love Seattle. We have a ton of blog posts on our favorite Seattle restaurants. I'd start with this post and then check out our other posts under our Seattle archives as well (cheers!): www.femalefoodie.com/restaurant-reviews/seattle-restaurants/
What about the Athenian? It's one of my favorite restaurants. The view over Puget Sound is so spectacular I've never even really noticed if the food is good or not.
Agree 1,000% on Beecher's. It took me 5 years after moving to the Seattle area to try it, and I wasn't disappointed. I would also highly recommend Biscuit Bitch for a good breakfast. It's the next block over uphill but totally worth it.
Hahaha your comment made me laugh out loud. My full blog post with suggestions here: www.femalefoodie.com/restaurant-reviews/washington/seattle/pike-place-market/
I live in Seattle and used to eat at the Market often when I worked downtown. This video of yours is without a doubt the best I have seen anyone make for a tourist visiting Seattle. You scored 1,000 points with me just by avoiding Ivar's Clam Chowder which seems to be on everyone else's top 5 list. A note about Three Girls Bakery (to die for!) - It is the first business in the city of Seattle licensed to a woman and the oldest continually operating business in the Pike Place Market. New video challenge - how about best Asian food in Seattle? Or broaden it to best ethnic and hit some Ethiopian places.
I live in Seattle and work somewhere in the Pike Place Market for awhile and I can tell there’s no way some of the places you picked are some of the best to go to while here! Anyway ... Thanks for exploring Seattle.
@@Femalefoodie it Surely Looked Deliciously Amazing. I live in a Seattle Suburb and I didn't Even Know about those Places, So I appreciate that You made the Video.
Hi there I am Sandy from India my son is studing in USC in LA I am planning to visit the country can u share some good places in Seattle to visit Regards
Lived and worked in the market from 1991 to 1996, and 2001 to 2004. This video disappointed me. Sorry to see that new restaurants have replaced the real classics. The Athenian is the best early breakfast in Seattle. I’m glad I no long live there.
MAJOR NOTE: if it's not paper white color. It means it's been out for awhile. Same with the orange looking chowders. If it's not salmon pink color. It's been out for awhile
I not so secretly hate Seattle but eh okay. I like vegan piroshky and Rachel’s ginger beer. If you eat animal products check out the Jiangbings at the Chinese place.
Hi thank you very much for the video. I was wondering if there was a way you could do something to help me out here. I am trying to locate restaurants that poor people can eat at every day. Like anything that's not McDonald's or Burger King. Some place that feels dignified but not upscale. I am doing a RU-vid video based on restaurants that are inexpensive but are not fast food. I'm looking for $20 or less for dinner preferably $10. I know there has to be some out there just nobody likes talking about them. Thank you again for your video and if you can help me that would be really great and I would appreciate it and I would also give you credit for the find again thank you. I love Seattle and I'm doing the best I can to help those that are having a hard time helping themselves. It's no fun living in a city feeling like you're unable to enjoy what the city has to offer because you don't have enough money in your wallet. May you receive many blessings throughout the new year.
All fine and dandy but take note that one of the all time best foodies and cooks in Seattle has been homeless and she’s commenting on your video right now.
I want to try the pasta place inside Pike Place and the brewery down there. Went to the new brewery by the water with a relative when they were visiting and it was amazing. The view is amazing. It’s called Old Stove? I think.
Also if you take the elevator or stairs down to street level Paris Madrid grocery is amazing if you like French and international specialty groceries. It is expensive because everything they carry is expensive. I wasn’t in the market for much of what they had when I went but noted that the stock was pretty incredible
Ummm. That chowder is not great at all. In fact pike place market is super touristy with overpriced food at underwhelming quality. Geeze mac n cheese reviews? Seattle has some actually upper shelf eats, none of them at pike place. Lol
Here’s my honest review: Beechers cheese is salty. As far as Sushi, I’ve had Tuna sushi in Tsukiji Market freshly caught and I the difference is very subtle compared to any Sushi places in Los Angeles which is known for having the best Sushi outside Japan. I wouldn’t pay $85 for 13pc of sushi and a ton of Tuna Maki as a filler. The Pike place Chowder is also just ok. All the awards on the wall are small competition based on max of 3 random restaurants. Piroshky Piroshky is just stuffed bread and lastly RGB is very tangy with a ginger after taste. I don’t know why YT food vloggers like Mark Weins and others are overly hyping these places. They are just meh!
I've visited Seattle many times over the last 15 years & l💗ve the food there! I'm not going lie- I won't travel for awhile...so feeling a bit blue since I thought I would be there soon. Please enjoy for me!!
Piroshky Piroshky has vegan options now! They’re delicious all the piroshky places in Seattle have some amazing stuff but now my favorites are Piroshky on 3rd and Piroshky Piroshky. I’m vegan and poor usually in the downtown area so. Anyways the cabbage and onion from Piroshky Piroshky is legend. I can eat one of those any day. I prefer mighty o doughnuts. I’m also a fan of Ghost Alley Espresso for specialty drinks
