Hey eveveryone! We are aware that our writer called some of these ships "Boats" when in reality, they are SHIPS! Small mistake there, apologies on that! Either way, thank you for the continued support!
#13 I was a crew of Queen Mary 2 from 2009 to late 2010 before joining Queen Elizabeth on her launching inaugurals and stayed with her to the last of my sailing days!!
Fun fact. That picture of the Seawise Giant on fire was after it was bombed. I worked for the company that eventually salvaged it. We then chartered it back some years later and it was so big it wasn't allowed in the English Channel. When we were loading it with crude oil at Sullom Voe in the Shetland Isles its massive size combined with being hit with one of the biggest North Sea freak waves ever recorded. The fully laden vessel with a total weight of over 800,000 tonnes caused the entire dock to move sideways across the sea bed.
The biggest Cruise ship in the world: Symphony of the seas The biggest Container ship in the world: Maersk Mc-kinney moller The biggest Tanker ship in the world: Jahre Viking/Knock Nevis/Seawise Giant
*Navigating through tasks with this machine feels like a dance, where every step is perfectly choreographed for maximum impact. It turns the mundane into a performance, making work both productive and delightful.*
Has anyone else noticed that at 4:07 pictured is not the RMS Titanic but the RMS Olympic??? Just check out the gaping hole and the side that was when the British cruiser HMS Hawke was sucked into the side of the RMS Olympic by it’s much larger wake on 20th of September 1911.
04:05 - A rare image of RMS Olympic, after it's collision with HMS Hawke. Olympic was Titanic's older sister and this collision delayed Titanic's maiden voyage setting a stream of events that led to Titanic's fate. You can see the damage to the hull (under the rear mainmast) this damage was patched up in Southampton and the picturre must have been taken on its way to Belfast for permanent repairs. Nice shot, but not Titanic.
I had the privilege of operating with "Big E" for four years. I was on a big ship myself. But when we pulled up along side the Enterprise, I had to look UP to see her anchors.
This ship is 1504 feet long ! (3 countries in the world that are using imperial system - oh that is big af) rest of the world that uses metric system -> Google -> 1504 ft to meters (btw it is 458.4 metres)
They double booked the seawise giant too, at #15 and #6. The announcer's try-hard voice was getting to me too, but I've heard worse. That and his inability to stick to one standard of weights and measures was grating as well, like they were picked off whatever list he had without any comprehension of their meaning. The fact that he kept talking about TEUs for one class, Deadweight tonnage for a different class, displacement for a third... Yeah. No. Pretty pictures, dopey film.
@@Hunnitkjay Amazing, specially working in the Casino we had some extra little time off so we could enjoy the ports a bit more, the team was amazing, it was fun day after day. We had CREW PARTIES and i was one of the Djs; it felt like a concert every time, more than 12 hundred people chanting your name and those couple of hours on those nights where just incredible, GREAT MEMORIES. Food was so good i still can smell it 😁. I miss it a lot
Very interesting video its just a pity that the narrator put on this terrible affected voice, the facts themselves are interesting enough so no annoying dramatic inflections needed.
Especially the stupid "blah blah blah....or this centipede will crawl on your face while you're sleeping"! Step away from the crack pipe before you do these voice-overs!!🙄🙄
Congratulations, you found a human (?) narrator that is actually worse than a computer to voice your video. I made it about 5 minutes, and I'm done. Shame, the content seems very interesting but my brain can't deal with Mr. Overly Dramatic Constipation's voice.
Several times during QM2 you showed the original QM. They're not hard to tell apart. If you see multiple smokestacks and a stone wall around it ... It's the Queen Mary (1).
My ex-husband and I owned a 24 foot searay boat. That thing was more expensive than a race horse. I cannot imagine the cost of the ships you shown here. Cost more per minute than I could afford for sure....😊
Large tankers are surprisingly cheap at 120M USD Running costs definitevly are a punch in the gut. Arriving to port can easily cost you some $20.000 before you even set foot on land.
i agree, he tries way to hard to stretch out and exaggerate evverrryyy siinnngggllleeee woorrrddddd. i watched about 15 seconds and then skipped to the end. at least he dragged it out long enough to get paid /s.
I could swear that this dude is all over RU-vid on various channels...or I have now found 3 different guys who sound the same and all tie for THE most annoying voice ever! Maybe they actually train these guys to pinch their nose and try to make EVERY MUNDANE SENTENCE EEEPPPIIIIIIICCCCCCC!!!
With all due respect, I'd really like to subscribe to your channel but the very offensive voice tone inflections of your two announcers forbid me to do so. Cannot you just have some regular voice 'announce' the attractions rather than attempting (and failing) to add a bit of drama to your channel? It would make for a much more enjoyable viewing experience. Thank you.
if tey get people to speak why on earth cant they get someone who who can speak properly rather than in this feigned and strained false manner.. dreadful
USS Enterprise CVN-65 will never become a museum or be repurposed as a different ship. After cutting out the reactors, the ship will no longer look the same, nor be sea worthy, the hull will be butchered.
I specifically looked in the comments to see how long it took for me to find someone commenting on the obvious photoshop job of the thumbnail. It’s a baaaaaadddd photoshop job and wasn’t necessary. The actual ships are impressive.
ahh i forgot to subscribe and there was a centipede crawling on my face 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
How come the Seawise giant is in this list twice and at different points in the list? I know it was renamed a few times but still the same ship! And how many different types of container ships are there? Its either the biggest or it's not, who made this list up?
6:10 Largest NON-OIL bulk carriers ever, there was a series of almost 600,000 DWT oil tankers (6 in total I believe) built by the Japanese (the Seawise Giant was at least mentioned briefly near the end of the video) - but those are now out of service, as their excessive size proved to be impractical, since there were not more than 3 and IIRC only *2* oil terminals they could load from, and less than a half dozen ports they could UNLOAD at. They also had no capability of going through the Panama or Suez canals, but that wasn't much of an issue when they were used to carry oil from the Middle East to Japan (the Straights of Malacca are plenty big enough to handle ANY ship that has ever existed comfortably). They also held the record while they existed for the LONGEST ships in existence, at something around 1600 feet. I believe the collision of 2 of these ships STILL holds the Guiness Book record for largest ship collision (vastly eclipsing the previous record, held by USS Ranger and the Liberian registry oil tanker Fortune).
