This property is so overgrown that we can't access it by car. Yet! With the help of my family we started to clear the 160 meters long "drive way" that we'll need to transport tools and building materials up the hill to start our food forest. Access is key in a permaculture design!

Beautiful video. That mushroom that you found means the soil beneath the surface is in better shape than the soil on the surface. In the U.S. Halloween just ended. A pumpkin patch set up in an empty lot had a number of hay bales they were giving away for free. I picked up 9 hay bales and I am going to spread out some of the hay on my backyard to make compost.

Mushroom identification can be challenging and is certainly quite important. Often, a spore print is necessary. Even when you do identify the mushroom as edible, you should only cook and eat a small piece at first to make sure that it does not make you feel sick. It might be best to grow your own from a known spore to make sure you don't get sick.
