I’m mixed, and I had a white friend. She told me my hair looked a mess and I needed to brush i told her no, and I was fine, and then her mom told my friend I was fine, and my hair didn’t work the same as hers. Then my friend said I needed to brush it because we were going to Dave & Busters. I felt far to uncomfortable. I ended up brushing it and it looked a mess. I was super upset and after that I wanted to cut my hair off or I wanted to straighten it so it looked like hers. Then I realized, having my hair is awesome. Edit: I got her off years ago, I never went back after that.
Having my hair: "Wash it" It'll shrink "Brush it" Wanna see a cloud☁️ "Straighten it" It's too thick "Leave it alone" It'll get brittle and dry "Is it long or short" It decides what it wants to be
No matter what I do to put my hair up at night I always wake up with the middle going inward and flattened and the ends messy. I don’t put my hair in tight ponytails
i have the same problem! i found somewhat of a solution. after wetting my hair, i apply coconut oil to my scalp and put a shower cap over it. when i wake up, its super soft and moist ! my shower cap has a cotton layer underneath it. i’m going to try using a bonnet or a head wrap and see if it does anything different .
Oh I didn’t expect to see you here haha, idk if you’re still having the problem, but if u mean having the middle weirdly shaped/flat try putting your hair up and wrapping it around only once or twice at the most, maybe leave it in a bun and not a loose ponytail? Hope this helped
People say: "Oh darling you could like, brush your hair, why don't you..." Me: "NOOOOOOO... SHHHHHH SHHHHH... DON'T SAY THAT... NOOOO... NEVER... EVER... SAY THAT AGAIN... now come on... let's just don't talk about that... and eat an ice cream or something..."
everyone told me: brush your hair me : DO YOU LIKE REALLY WANT TO SEE MY HAIR BRUSHED people: yeah! me: don't ever EVER say that to me ever again NEVER. don't say that to any curly hair girl or boy that. EVER!!!!
The real struggle is having straight frizz on the top of my head and straight curls at the bottom. The hair never matches so I have to straighten it all for it to look normal ugh
You don't HAVE to straighten; actually the reason the top is straight is because of heat damage from constant straightening. Braid outs and twist outs can help get cohesive curls without straightening
***** thanks for the help guys, its just been hard since my mom never raised me to do anything but keep it straight like her own naturally is lol. but its hard because theyre like wide curls and braids tend to make the top of my hair more tight curls that turn frizzy quick! i tried flexi rods but that was no use lmao
All my curly head friends apple cider vinegar is a holy grail. After I shampoo, which I do once a week, I have a jar of water with about 2tblsp apple cider vinegar. It balances the ph in your hair and naturally conditions and also helps relieve itchy scalp and brings shine. I mean it's the best thing ever!! I pour it over my head after rinsing our shampoo and the. Let it sit couple minutes rinse and then condition. Don't worry the smell rinses out
the thing with my hair is that it's wavy and puffy and I have to put crap in my hair if I want it curly so that's why I leave my hair in a bun .... I hate hair
Does anyone else hate when people say "Oh, I love your frizzy, poofy hair!" Like don't theSe people get it? My hair ISN'T SUPPOSED TO BE FRIZZY OR POOFY. THAT MEANS I SCREWED UP.
Maddie P well how are they gonna now when their are ppl like me with 4c hair which is the worst by far which is supposed to be poofy everybody has different hair
The thing is that my friend with ringlet curls keeps brushing her hair from the roots to the ends and I️ keep yELLING at her but she keeps dOING it. Like, when she brushes it makes ripping noises and I’m like hONEY NO
Them: "Why don't you try brush-" Me: "Shhh" Them: "No, like, why don't you brush your hai-" Me: "SHHH" Them: "I think it would look nic-" Me: "SHUSH YOU KNOW NOTHING"
Arianna Rivera you can wet the dent in the front parts with a water spray bottle and twirl it to bring back definition! The back parts can also be sprayed but you don't have twirl it all because it gives you more volume (if that's what you want)
do you know of anything that will really help with frizz? I have from mainly in like the middle back part of my hair. the bottom is always curly and the top is like wavy.
I'm 49 years old. So excited to see CURLY hair, like mine, coming out of the closet, as an actual style-look nowadays. They even categorized it! 2C, 3C, 4C....So awesome! Now I can go natural with all the products available. I don't have to apologize for my hair being on my head "like that"...salute to many Afro-Americans, bi-racials, mixed, and everybody & anybody with the ancestral DNA SMACKDOWN going on in the hair arena....(my ancestry shows Benin/Great Britain/Norway/Philippines) THANK YOU, this is a fantastic vid.😉😉
they seem like good tips but so far I haven't seen a video that matches my hair type... why? probably cause no one of my hair type has figured it out (as many know, ppl with mixed know that how it's mixed varies a LOT)
Sometimes the texture even changes a lot. There are tons of natural hair videos on RU-vid. It may seem basic but it may be helpful if you try people of different ethnicity if you have the same kind of hair. Just b/c the same race the hair can considerably vary. Once you do that then narrow it down to dry hair, oily hair, then finally, the chick who actually knows what she's talking about, lol. I take advice from everyone b/c I HAVE to moisture but have ridiculously curly hair. It could be cute if I knew how to comb it but I blew it straight for so many years I had to relearn. So curly that it doesn't want to make neat braids. I also haven't figured braiding yet, lol. Good hunting. This video was true to curly hair health!
I'm not really mixed because I'm like 3 quarter black, but my hair is two textures, 3c in the front and 4a in the back. So it's confusing sometimes. Half the time I wear it curly and the other I wear it straight.
OMG before I started watching your videos I literally knew NOTHING about curly hair so I would just brush it out while it was dry and it was such a mess 😣 everytime I see old pictures of me with huge frizzy hair I cringe so hard lmfao. I'm glad you saved me :)
I love your videos. I would always see you at school when I went to lyman I always wanted to come up to you but I was to scared lol but keep up the good work.:)
+Marcia Ndanyeh im puerto rican and i have afro hair its all about ancestors not just African Americans have afros i just have reaallyyyy far away family members that were african puerto ricans are a mix of black indian and european .
OHHHHH EMMMM GEEEEE I finally found someone who has the same length and type of hair as me!! You've helped me so much. I've always wondered why I could never keep the curls and moisture in my hair! Your video really helped me!
YESS. But I noticed my shrinkage decreased when I started doing braidouts and using my Shea butter mix, since it's heavy it'll protect against humidity. It's also very moisturizing :)
Dumebi N Well right now I only use coconut and castor oil. I wanna try out more oils but I haven't found the time to go out and buy them, but the castor and coconut oil works really well anyways. There are tons of RU-vid videos of people making them with a different variety of oils, though :)
I'm so glad I've found this youtuber! It's taken foorreeverrr for me to find a youtuber with the same hairtype as me! Thanks so much for all the great tips!
question: I have a new friend who I helped get off the streets. She is in a safe home now and I'd like to help her start to feel good about herself by helping with her hair. what are the best products to use? while I too have thick curly hair, I'm white so my texture isn't as course and I don't think we would use the same styling products. I love how your hair looks with the natural curl. it's so shiny and looks so soft. my friend wants a wig, but I'd like to help her bring out the naturally beautiful her before resorting to a wig. I'm just unsure of the products.
girls if u have curly hair, that when u try an wear down it doesn't want to bc you're constantly wearing high buns, wear it in a low low pony tail when you sleep. :)
Hello, my daughter is mixed race and i'm trying to take care of her hair as good as i know. i'm wondering what product you use to seal in moisturizer. And what's your opinion on Blue Magic Castor Oil? Thanks!
Elina Skedung Fröberg I just straighten my hair perm and when it grows out I do it with a straight ing iron and don't wash it for a while :/. Ik it sounds gross but at least I look good and no one rlly notices.
YOUR CURLS LOOK SO PRETTY AND I THINK THIS IS HELPFUL BUT THEY WONT WORK ON ME BC MY HAIR IS HALF STRAIGHT AND HALF CURLY; IT'S AS AMBIGUOUS AS MY SEXUALITY I --
+itshelina do mini buns instead of trying to do the pineapple method. a good deep condish are the shea moisture ones or hello hydration with coconut oil
My hair is too short for a pineapple too lol, but what I do is split my hair down the middle and put both sides into 2 low ponytails and it's basically the pineapple method for short hair. Or you can just put your hair into 4 chunky braids For deep conditioners, I like to make my own (I do any of these) : - water, mayo, egg, any conditioner, any hair oil, and honey - coconut oil and water - any conditioner, water, and hair oil And then which ever mix you choose, you just put a plastic cap on at night and sleep with it. Then wash it out in the next day. Hope this helps :)
Ty fr helping me you have helped me so much my hair is always such A nightmare and its always such a hassle to get it ready but u have helped me so much and ur so sweet ty
Your curly hair videos are so helpful thank you so much for making them. Also when your brushing your hair while it’s wet I find it helpful to use a wide tooth comb and not brush. 💖
Hi Luhhsetty! I love your channel so much because I have thick curly hair and I’m 11 so I can’t really take care of my hair that good yet. What I love about your channel is it gives good advice on how to take care of my hair
don't feel that way, see it like this, you are more of a man for having the courage to watch it, and taking the risk that some one will figure out, or catch you
like... I swear to God by the time I'm 20 I will shave off my head (the only reason I still can't do it is because it goes all the way to my butt) and wear wigs for the rest of my life
lol one time i went to the hair dressers and they wet my curly hair, so when they were finished with my hair i sat back on the chair and told them i wanted to cut it since it was getting too long and harder to brus..h so i said 'WHILE' my hair was still WET! i told them; i wanted to cut my hair to my shoulder. she said '"sure no prob'" so when they were done drying my hair it bounced back up and i basically looked like a fuzzy crazy furball..my hair was above my ear and i wanted it to be the same length as my shoulder but nope stupid me said to cut it to my shoulder because it looked long when it was wet and stupidly forgot that my hair would bounce right back up... and now pretty much have an AFRO!!! PS: not saying anything is wrong with the afro style, i personally love afros but i don't like it on me..
Lol that happened to me I was taking out my locks and all my hair was wet so I decided to cut it and I fell asleep and then I woke up.... my hair was like 3 inches long
