Like... They're fun movies... just watch them and then look up the differences, then you'll have an understanding of who the characters are, and why the changes are significant.
Fun fact about "Hercules": In Greece the title is "Hercules: Beyond the myth" for Greek people to not misunderstand the fact that many things in the movie are not exactly like they in the myth!But that happened anyways!😂

It's so funny you said that the Germans renamed the movie Parent Trap. The original story is written by Erich Kästner who was a german author. Disney renamed not only the title, but also the name of every single person in the story that happened in the Alps, Vienna and Munich and not in the USA.

I thought it was more interesting that they took the time to find voice actors that suited the role, that people would recognize. A famous astronaut would be a great choice if he's a big media figure. it's like hearing Neil Tyson or something doing a voice over at a science museum.

I don't remember it as a flashback, maybe it was. I might confuse it for Up. In Up we see the main character as a child and growing up, which wasn't part of a flashback, but the film was doing a fast forward instead. Didn't Inside Out do the same thing?

Calling Bomb Voyage the equivalent of Strange Love was probably a reference to the film Dr. Strangelove, which was a satire about nuclear war. The name makes a lot more sense if you know that.
No, it proves they will adapt their product to other countries' demands so they can make more money off their products. There is no support or love of those countries involved. It's strictly business.
In Captain America The Winter Soldier, the list Sam gives to Cap, of things he should definitely see/hear, changes depending on the country. In France, the movie Heathers is known as Fatal Game and in Germany, it is titled Lethal Attraction.

In Polish the title was changed to "Iniemamocni", it's a wordplay on saying that translates into "there's no one stronger"/"no one can beat that". They kept however the first letter for the sake of outfits (with an i), to not confuse the audience. Good job, translator!

I'm German and as a kid I watched more the older Disney movies. Like Cinderella, Snow White, Bambi... Now I'm trying to rewatch every Disney movie. When Moana came into the cinemas I was so confused that it had two names. And I watched the Gresham and the English version. Every time I just hear one song in German I get goosebumps (the bass ones 😖). I can't watch any movie in German any more that I originally looked on English😅 And I really has to apologize to friends for being so stubborn and don't wanting to watch the Harry Potter movies in English. 🙈😅

I live in USA and I was born in South Korea 10 years ago. I was visiting South Korea with my family and when I went on the plane, instead of Moana, they called her Vientanna or something that started with a V
(2:35) Yes, they usually use different people for dubs. It's rare that they use the same actor for different languages; it does happen sometimes, but rare.
In Europe the movie Zootopia is called Zootropolis because there is a zoo in Europe called Zootopia. And in all Europe the movie Moana is called Viana.
In Germany, it's Zoomania, which I always considered stupid. "Mania" just didn't fit. Didn't know though that it was to avoid having the same name as a zoo, that's actually a better explanation than Disney thinking that the Germans wouldn't get the word play in Zootopia.
But there is really a funny "change" in the movie with Lindsay Lohan. At a moment, the mother makes a phone-call in another language. In the original movie, she speaks French, and the daughter she raised is fluent in french too. But in the French Version ( " A nous quatre !"), Everybody speak French, and the daughter is fluent in Italian ( uses by the mother for the phone-call too)

"Parent Trap" is based on a German book "Das doppelte Lottchen" in the first place (and there are maybe couple of dozens of other adaptations of this books in different countries (at least eight of them in India alone), so Americans are not really in a good position to criticize the title change here.
Well actually there is another similar story in Germany to the patent trap. It's called "Das doppelte Lottchen" which translated means " the doubled lotti". Just something that comes to my mind every time I see the movie😅🙈
The way they explained how voice actors change for “english speaking countries, france and MEXICO” bruh💀💀 latin america is not just mexico... the same dubbing is played in all latin american countries if you didn’t know. The only spanish differences (almost always) are between “español latino” and “castellano/español España”
Yeah, I really didn't get what was supposed to be the reveal about that. Did anybody assume they had the original voice actors do the dubbing for a foreign language, yet alone for all foreign languages? Um... that is not, "Riley's baby sister," that's Riley as a baby. It's the beginning of the movie where you're introduced to each emotion as they develop. The broccoli/peppers scene is the birth of her sense of disgust.

there are hockey leagues in middle European countries, too, but it isn't a very popular sport and average people who don't have a personal connection to that sport usually wouldn't go to a game or watch it on TV, yet alone daydream about it.
No-one in the UK would have batted an eyelid at him thinking about hockey in Inside Out. In fact, I found it very odd that an American was thinking about soccer. We're all very aware of how things are in the USA and the change made no sense.

I think you got that backwards. Actually, there are several novels that contain the name Utopia for a perfect society (among others "A new Utopia" by H.G. Wells), the term itself dating back to a philosophical novel from the 16th century. German wikipedia states that the reason not to use the name Zootropolis might have been to avoid a name confusion with a German distopian novel from 2010 named Zootopolis
The Lindsay Lohan film is simply just another adaptation of german Authors Erich Kästner's book Lottie and Lisa from 1949. So, the story of that film has been known due to the knowledge of the book. @TheThings

In Portugal we tend to do the minimun changes possible, but the recents movies titles... Inside Out = Divertidamente (Fun+mind), The Good Dinosaur = A viagem de Arlo (Arlo's journey) and Onward = Bora lá (slang for "Let's go"). Here Moana is Vaiana too.
