The clearest tutoring I have ever seen. I really enjoyed. I had something to do and was wondering how to resolve it. After watching this video, I learned it by heart and took some great notes. Thanks a lot.
I always confused when to use and where to put the quotation marks. Now I know if it’s just a number no marks are needed. Wow! I wish I saw this a few years ago
Thanks for this great tutorial! It was exactly what I needed for a project I was working on. You've saved me a lot of time! I was wondering if there was a way to sum between certain values? So if column F had the values that you wanted to sum and column G had values 1-10 based on certain criteria would it be possible to sum all the values in F between each occurrence of the number 1 in column G? So the sum of all the values when G is 2-10 until there is another 1 in column G and the sum starts again. Thanks
This was HUGELY helpful!!! One quick question - is there a way to set criteria up in another column so that you don't need to recreate the formula for every different option? Does that make sense?
Thank you so much for this informative video on sumifs.. my question is can we use piovt table as an alternative for sumifs to narrow down the last example you showed..?
I am putting together a time sheet that I want to hard code breaks and lunch. Jobs that are being tracked can take 15 minutes up to days to completion. So, I would like to call out times for breaks (8:30 am to 8:45 am, 2:30 pm to 2:45 pm) then lunch (11:15 to 12:00pm). How can this be created. Thanks,
What if I do not want to put the letter - B - in the =SIMIFS formula. But instead want to reference a cell. We well say I want to refence cell C12. So, in the formula I use “*C12*” and this is not working. How can I reference a cell, where I can enter partial information and get results?
what if i want to exclude 2 criterias of 2 different ranges if they come together! for example, i want to sum the qty, excluding only the ones where [part] "-C-" 's versions are green!! so exclude all green "-C-", other "-C-" are in, other greens are in too. only "-C-" green is excluded... is there a function for it?
I am trying to create a function that after a specific number (150) it will add 10 for every 50 units above 150. but I can't seem to get SUMIFs to do this. any advice on what function I could use to accomplish this?
Hi What if i needed to know how many sizes between size 2 & 5 ? can it work that out from the same reference cell for the 2nd argument appreciate your help Tom
Awesome stuff, but what if Green was a cell reference. Say the word green was in A10 and you wanted to sum everything that was not equal to green. =sumifs(G2:G9,E2:E9"A10") and any variant I can see doesn't work. Is it possible to exclude a reference from the sumifs?
Sir, can u help me with my problem.. I have a table data which contains Column A (DATE in DD/MM/YYYY), Column B (working shift which is AM, PM, ON), Column C (working area code which is A, B, C, D)..Column D (worker's name) but Column D is not included in this formula.. Lastly, F3 cell which is to search a specific date (in DD/MM/YYYY format) My formula is, =COUNTIFS(A3:A100,"="&F3,B3:B100,{"AM","PM","ON"},C3:C100,{"A","B","C","D"}) So, the problem is, the formula didn't count my desire multiple criteria correctly..it just count for the date I search, for AM shift ONLY for working area in A B C..I need the formula to count the date I search for AM PM ON shift for working area in A B C D.. Help me, sir..
Not specific - if you have a specific question and can upload a sample file, head over to our forum and ask there: www.teachexcel.com/talk/microsoft-office?src=yt
Unfortunately this tutorial doesnt mention how to account for multiple criteria from a single column. For example I can tell Excel to create a sum total of money from all lines that contain the value "Paypal". =SUMIFS(B3:B100, D3:D100, "Paypal") But excel wont allow me to add multiple criteria from the same criteria range. Example: I want to create a sum total of all payments designated as coming from Paypal, Zelle, Cash app, ect. The seemingly obvious formula should look like this....But doesnt work. Anybody have a suggestion of what Im doing wrong? =SUMIFS(B3:B100, D3:D100, "Paypal",D3:D100,"Zelle",D3:D100,"Cash app")
Those are mentioned toward the end of the video. Basically, these characters let you match the beginning or ending part of a cell instead of having to match all of its contents; this is the simplest way to explain it. We also have a tutorial on teach excel that explains it in more detail: www.teachexcel.com/excel-tutorial/1896/wildcards-in-excel?src-yt
Not directly without a custom function. You can add a helper column to do this though. I'll put a tutorial for this on TeachExcel and put the link here for you.
Here you go! I hope it helps :) (I'll also make a video for it at some point but I'm not sure when.) www.teachexcel.com/excel-tutorial/2035/do-something-based-on-cell-background-color-sumifs-if-countif-etc?nav=yt
or this =SUM(SUMIFS('۱'!E:E,'۱'!I:I,{"1403/1/1","1403/1/2","1403/1/3","1403/1/4","1403/1/5","1403/1/6","1403/1/7","1403/1/8","1403/1/9","1403/1/10","1403/1/11","1403/1/12","1403/1/13","1403/1/14","1403/1/15","1403/1/16","1403/1/17","1403/1/18","1403/1/19","1403/1/20","1403/1/21","1403/1/22","1403/1/23","1403/1/24","1403/1/25","1403/1/26","1403/1/27","1403/1/28","1403/1/29","1403/1/30","1403/1/31"},'۱'!H:H,{"تجارتی","رهایشی "})) thanks
