I hate it for you but it’s the same problem. Green flag, you immediately lose spots and have to try to fight back. With a field this deep, you just can’t spot them two spots. Keep digging
You look like you started getting faster and faster in the B I think a late yellow would have been a game changer. Your getting better and better each time you take the track I truly think next year your name will be well known your going to running with and beating the top guns.
The maturity you have at your age is truly impressive. I would have been throwing my helmet and sulking at your age. I hope you can fulfill your dream of racing full time. I've been watching you from the beginning. Don't be afraid to ask for help. On a lighter note, Carly ought to be getting some serious boy attention!
Tanner, you need a chassi set up guy. Last years performance comes to memory. You started well with the Allen car.....then.... Well, trying to make a move on the middle hard and slick got you where? Be faster than the guy in front of you racing his line, then commit to a low road for a pass. Trying to make a move on a guy running faster is betting on an inside flush. Love you guys❤
It seemed like every time someone would get in feont of you in the heat you lifted so that you wouldnt him them which isnt a bad thing but i think that also played a part in coming in 5th instead of 4th so you couldve transfered to the main. Maybe it seems like the competition getting tougher every year because you guys are getting better therefore you guys are able to run with the Outlaws and hold more and more of your own every time. Thank you for sharing this video with us. May yall have a good one. Have fun take care
It was very hard for everybody except the 15 this year Everybody had speed, made it very hard to pass Hold your head high You did a great job against the best in the world.
Tanner, you are running up against drivers and crews with loads more experience at Knoxville. If you are not running the weekly show, you are not out there pounding in lap after lap after lap, discovering what the track will give you and what it takes away. Just how many times have Larson, Sweet, Macedo, Gravel, Schatz, Scelzi, or "The Wild Child" run Knoxville without even making it to Saturday. Let alone how many times Steve Kinzer made it to the " A Main" before he won the first time. You mentioned that you do not have the equal of an Eldora or Knoxville on the West Coast. Do you have the equivalent of an "Indiana Sprint Car Week" on the West Coast? So if you want to win here, you will have to put in your apprenticeship here. No one ever said that running a 410 Wing Sprint Car was easy.
IMO you have achieved about all you can with the current status of your team and equipment. To advance further you will need a full time engine tuner in the trailer and a crew chief that has many years of experience on the WOO tour AND has worked many years with your specific chassis manufacturer. You also need to learn to jump every start. Sometimes you get put back a spot. Big deal. It's no where nearly as good as the advantage you get all the other times. You should be gaining two spots on every restart instead of losing two. So the reality is that you are losing 4 positions on almost every start. Engine and chassis tuners can help with that.
1st heat, slide protected...throttled off, net lap same tactic. wonder why you didn't expect and dive to the bottom...white car laps 4 & 5? saying 5th could have made 2nd doesn't cut it. I think sometimes you over analysis to quick for youtube...watch the race first if possible. Still enjoy watching your journey and the only USA driver I follow ! (well at least until sis gets behind the gas again then it'll be 2 drivers)
I pull for Tanner always for years. He had no problem in the Karts sticking it in there. Everyone knows he will back out first, so they stick it to him. Starts are everything when all the cars are capable of winning. Tanner can but all winners wreck on the way to the top. Chico is going on here and I love it.
15 feet ….may as well been a mile ! Hope you can take some constructive criticism ? Been watching your RU-vid channel for awhile and I’ve been around racing first as a driver , then pit crew member and always a big fan of dirt racing , whether it’s Northeast Dirt series or the winged sprints in various venues . It would be wise for you to stay in your area and pull down several track championships and consistent wins out there in the Northwest building your team as you go and gaining adequate sponsorship. Don’t know what your budget is but you just seem to be shy of being able to run with the touring class teams . Just my observations from watching same scenarios fall apart . Hope you find great success in your endeavors on and off the track ! 👍
