Looked like a fantastic course. Greens looked faaaaast but toward the mid/end it looked like you had figured them out. The noise effects are brilliant and make me chuckle each time. Keep up the good work 👍🏼
Played that course a couple of times.. and I’m sooo nervous on the third tee every time.. “don’t hit it in the water, don’t hit it in the water “ I’m a 6.6 hcp and struggle every time on that course… Great job, impressed by the way you’ve played 14th… keep it up!!
Great video again. That look at 15:19!! I had a go of a top course for the first time on Sunday and it chewed me up. St Andrews Castle Course. A cliff top links course right off the sea. Throw in 45mph winds and it was just about unplayable. But I loved it. Wanted to get under 100 but walked off with 107 and a lot of golf balls lighter
Marvelous course, it looked absolutely beautiful. Hope you had a great time brother, those greens were definitely tough mate. The content quality was amazing as always, cheers mate.
I have really enjoyed your channel. The time and effort is much appreciated. Im unofficially in a similar handicap but working this year to make it official. Those fast greens are score killers. Here in Utah its really dry and the "Texas Wedge" seems to be a decent remedy when possible, or getting better at flop shots. The latter being the riskier of the two. Keep up the good work brother!
Thanks Jeff. You're totally right, the putter is definitely the sensible move in those situations. Although you end up drawn to the flop shot you can't play 😂
@@UpDownGolf Good experience playing a tour level course though! Plenty to take away from it I guess! Golf is going well aside from the English weather, thanks for asking!
I know this was nearly a year ago but can you remember how many additional shots you would have received at this course? Great video and it looked mighty tough.
You're right Robert. It's my bad, I think the ball was unplayable rather than lost. It was a few months ago now and I didn't record what the drop was for 🤦♂️
Luke, I think you psyched yourself out from the very beginning by saying you hope to shoot less than a 100. You did that but your game is pretty solid. You played better on the back 9 because you finally relaxed after that front 9 debacle. The same thing happens to when I shoot a good score on the front, I put more pressure on myself and I blow-up on the back, and visa versa when I play bad on the front. How did Fents do? Great video and as always very entertaining. Safe travels to you both.
Good analysis I think that Dave. I was definitely very excited for this round too which I don't think helped my score but certainly added to my overall enjoyment of the day. Fents did the opposite to me, solid front 9 and then dodgy back 9. He finished on 95 though so a good score. Thanks as always mate!
Really enjoy your videos. Please don't think I'm being arrogant but can I suggest that you ditch the 3 wood and 3 hybrid for a 5 wood - easier to hit, get more loft and more accurate. It made a big difference to my game and I have a similar game to you. Cheers.
Thanks Graham! No don't worry, a lot of people have said the same. I have actually just bought a 2 iron and I seem to be getting on with it a lot better then the 3 wood and hybrid 👍
Great to see a course like that, would love to have a golfing holiday at some point! Just a question on your swing, do you feel you turn your body a bit too much on your back swing? It just looks a bit awkward but if it works for you then fairplay
@@UpDownGolf might feel completely natural to you as everyone has their own swing but it just looks like your turning your whole body instead of it being separated
@@UpDownGolf there's a channel called zen golf that you might find interesting, I find it a good watch when I start going down the RU-vid rabbit hole of swing advice
Hey mate, great video. I played this course about a month ago, really nice to see if on the channel! I’m thinking of starting my own channel doing a similar thing! What software do you use to capture your drive tracers? Thanks again
I think you should try a new putter, i was used to 3 put and sometimes even 4 put, I was so set to play a blade putter and thought mallet putters are just to big! I have now switched to a mallet putter (scotty cameron) and my stroke is better, pace control and feel overall. I lost at least 5-10 strokes per round *only because of my putter (tp patina juno) to now gain them back!
I did the exact same thing but the other way round KD. I used to use a mallet and I was terrible with it, switched to this blade and got better. Although if I'm honest, I don't practice putting anywhere near enough (as evidenced in this video 😂)
@@UpDownGolf Oh I see then it's all practice, I have actually practiced all winter to fix my putting (aka many hours invested) but I don't seem to have the stroke to match a blade putter.
when your tee shot goes out of bounds and you can't find it, its a 2-stroke penalty to take a drop (you gave yourself only a 1 stroke penalty). So your real score is 97
You're right Ryan. It's my bad, I think the ball was unplayable rather than lost. It was a few months ago now and I didn't record what the drop was for 🤦♂️
