Hi cassandra .... i love your videos very informative.... by the way i m using alpha albutin from the ordinary hoping to see difference also vitamin c were bellow 12 euros here in germany... fun info to share i found a make fixer with spf 20 wuth blue light blocking technique from catrice named fix and protect..... u should check it out.... i have been using it .... n also keeping the bottle in my purse ....
here in asia, American skincare like the ordinary and the inkey list is SO EXPENSIVE like 2 times the price and sometimes I just wish I live in america. However now that I’ve gotten into Korean skincare, I realised for me in my country in able to get k beauty products for less than half the price, like cosrx original price usd25 I can get it for usd8 and I’m really grateful for thatttt.
@@jennyinouterspace America seems very stress free study wise and like housing. Here when my parents bought a 1500m*2 house it cost about 1.1mil usd and I checked housing in the USA and with that money we could’ve gotten a landed house much bigger than our current one ;-; however I am afraid to go or live in America because I’m scared of getting shot😂 everyone has guns and if someone just wasn’t happy with you (especially asians) I’m gonn get shot.
did you know that korea is a couple of years ahead from the rest of the world with skincare, so if you can get that at an affordable price, is way better!
@@shan-gn3ey Yeah! I used to think I need super strong things like from the ordinary etc but I realised Koreas skincare gave me the same results if not better but with no irritation and cheaper from where I’m from!
@@user-vj9iw6cv7m nobody’s really going to shot you. they will get in big trouble if they do or attempt. most people have guns for hunting or protection(in home)
Fellow GenX’ers and anyone else that has sun damage to your chest- The Inkey List tranexamic acid is your new BFF. One bottle of this noticeably faded years of damage! I am absolutely obsessed.
I am 52 and the worst damage I have is on my chest. So I hear ya on that one. Thanks for sharing. I will definitely try this on my chest. This is why I like to read the comments on Cassandra's page. I find the people who come here are just as wonderful as she is.
Thank you for that! I'm 37 and that's my biggest problem area from sun damage! Since bulking up my skin care routine and bringing it down to my chest, I have noticed some improvement! Wish I was this educated 10-15 years ago!!
Cassandra- I REALLY appreciate that as your channel and following has grown and developed, you haven’t gotten more advertise-y. Instead, we have gotten to know you and your personality more, and I really love that. Thanks for teaching me so much- cheesy af but the gift of learning from someone really is invaluable. 🖤
Hi, Cassandra, thank you so much for your always considerate videos. Can you please keep Darker skinned people in mind when recommending sunscreen, tinted is only made for curtain skin tones, it is rarely made with darker skinned tones in mind, I really appreciate all the hard work you do
For the Australian Gold tinted sunscreen, it looks like Cassandra was using the fair to light shade, but they also have a medium to tan shade and a rich to deep shade 😊
I'd check out channels that specialize in skins of color: Dr Alexis Stephens has some videos on sunscreen. But your best bet would be The Style and Beauty Doctor. She tests a lot of sunscreens. I might also check out Glow by Ramon (he's Puerto Rican) and he tests a lot of sunscreens as well.
The Australian Gold has different shades and it’s like a BB cream (it doesn’t have too much coverage and blends easily). I hope the darker shades work for you!
Oil of Olay Regeneriat MINERAL sunscreen SPF 30 is not talked about much and it melts into the skin and no white residue! You will like it alot. My mom is darker tanned skin and she loves it. I recommended it to my darker skinned friends and they too were impressed. It comes in a red tube like bottle....it's really lovely. 🙂
Personally, Australian Gold is a little too drying for the colder months but is PERFECT for the summer. It literally blurs my pores and I love the way it looks on my skin better than actual makeup. No one else on RU-vid seems to be talking about it, so THANK you for being the one 💞🙌🏻
I tried the tinted one, and it only comes in 3 colours. It feels really satiny and nice, in summer... But I need more moisture, during the winter, and it does NOT layer well. 😣 Plus, the Fair - Light is way, way too dark. It should be named "Light to Light-Medium," or something, because it is DEFINITELY not okay on fair skin. It makes me look like just my face is tanned. Can't use it on my arms and everything, because even though it's water-resistant, it still will transfer pigment, a bit. 😕 It's not orange, at least... But it darkens my complexion a lot. I really wanted to like it! A one-and-done complexion product sounds friggin' amazing. If you're light to light-medium, it would probably look lovely on you. 👍🏻
It's a very generous tube. Has also lasted me almost a year and finally is almost gone. I wasn't using sunscreen regularly enough before but now that I am I'd say it lasts about 6-9 months if you just use a facial/neck portion and then use a clear or white sunscreen on your body.
The Australian Gold sunscreen is amazing I have rosacea and sensitive skin and when I wear this it feels so light and like I'm not wearing anything and best of all it doesn't give me allergy!!
@@catbeehendricks I know right!? I ordered the "Wake up Beautiful Bundle" and more Vegan Collagen products... I guess some don't like the scents, but I love how all their products smell, and work. They gently achieve their purpose.
Sulwhasoo, a Korean luxury brand, has a Time Renovature Emulsion which claims to have Korean red pine extract which is highly moisturizing and contains antioxidants. I was not sure why, despite the light watery texture, it felt more effective as an alleged 'anti-aging' product compared to the other lines like the basic balancing line till I realized that red pine also contains pycnogenol. Add to that the star ingredients of red ginseng extract and other Korean medicinal herbs for skin, and that might be why the product is rich.
Sweetheart, you are a fantastic verbalized! Your witty ,informative, humorous, you don't need cuss words You are both entertaining & very intelligent & informative, You ROCK❣️❣️❣️❣️
Sephora's fragrance free aha/bha cleanser is $10 and super good. Also is gentler and has more product than the inky list one. Naturium's Tranexamic Acid is my fave Tranexamic acid and also have Kojic Acid, my favourite acid.
You had me at liquid Gummy Bear! But sadly, I’m in Canada and Bubble isn’t available here though. Love the Ordinary picks and Australian Gold is my fave!
Have you checked out Canadian channels (some might be more active on IG than their channel)? Sincerely Miss Ash, Cathy on Skincare, MichXMash, trevor Ritchie, Jamie paige, Dr. Stephanie - the Blonde MD, Dr. Lisa Kellett, kindofstephen (cosmetic/skincare formulator, IG), Manes by Mell (curly hair), Jenna Catherine (cruelty free), kenna (plant based/natural beauty), Lakisha Adams (poc). And some have mentioned in comments having success with getting products from sites like iHerb, ASOS, Beautylish and LookFantastic.
@@db-gb5xi I’m subscribed to a free on your list! I can get most products if I really needed to. But since Bubble is available in Walmart, it’s frustrating that it’s not in Canada too. But that’s okay. Lots of other brands to try out 🙂
So I keep hearing you recommend the inkey list, which is a brand I’ve never heard of before! So I went to their website and took their little quiz and I have to say, they were right on point with what I wanted! Usually I’ve stuck to my 3 fave brands (bioderma, Paula’s choice, and Peter Thomas Roth) but I really like the affordability of this brand and really want to give them a shot now 💕💕💕
Cassandra, love love your channel, thank you for sharing so many amazing products, but would you please mention how to layer into shin Routine. Thank you!
This is so great! I need inexpensive as I'm not always the best at remembering to do some self care on my skin. I'd love to see a video of what you suggest for the top 5 products for teens as well as someone in their 40's to have great skin. (But struggle with remembering to take care of your skin.)
I looooove B oil! I was hoping it was just oil + algae extract, but for a blend with a triglyceride base, it's top notch! And, tbh, some of the oils in it can be hard to work into skin, this definitely smooths out viscosity. I always mix a few drops of squalene with my 1st moisturizer, then some drops of B with my 2nd one, and if I need a third layer (they are good lotions, btw, but my skin & climate are both super dry), I can add some PGA to it. So far, my moisture barrier is getting stronger, I've even had a couple 1 lotion days when the temps were over 30F, thanks to the improvements in my barrier
Between the inky list and the ordinary, they have saved my skin. I've had cystic acne my entire life, and the past two years have killed my skin (mask + cystic acne= not a good combination). I'm so happy that I have invested in their products.
Me too. As a poor person it’s awesome to be able to save my skin and help prevent future problems to have a 3-4 month supply (except sunscreen) of skincare for $60ish bucks is amazing. Before the inkey list was avaliable near me I was brand loyal to the ordinary and literally could do my skincare routine for $25 bucks (it’s a bit more pricey now but that happens when a brand blows up)
I love your videos! I've become addicted to your channel. I was wondering if you could do a video on recommendations for an older women (I'm 51) who has normal to dry skin with signs of aging, especially under the eyes and around the mouth. After getting out an abusive marriage and losing my mother and brother both last year as well as being a mother of a autistic son, I am finally wanting to take a little time to give myself some self care and love for myself. Thank you for making me smile everyday. I love products from the ordinary, Pacifica, and yes too. 😊
Hi Cassandra, love your videos! Could you please do a video about these greek skincare companies like Apivita, KORRES, frezyderm? Have you ever tried some of their products? Thank you!
I bought the Yes To one on clearance at Ulta and im glad i did.. My mask caused it to pill and when i went to reapply a different sunscreen i noticed a ton of white sticky flakes in my eyebrows and all over my face. Looked like dandruff on my face and took effort to get them off before i could put on my other sunscreen. I have super oily skin 🤷 maybe that was a factor
I’m 42 and have learned SO MUCH feom your videos. A video idea for you (bc I need it! Lol) How to help teenage boys (or anyone who can’t be bothered, not just boys!) put together an acne routine. So far we have the SA cleanser and the proactive I bought him 2 years ago🤦♀️ that he uses about once a month.
Here's a couple videos: Acne Skincare Routine Drugstore Under 50$ For Teenage Acne and Fragrance-Free, Acne-Fighting, Drugstore, Sensitive Skin Safe Skincare Routine Under $50!
You’re right that’s like, standard moisturizer price. I kinda want to try it but my skin is really sensitive to different moisturizers and it’s hard spend $16 on a moisturizer that might not work, so I stick to my Acure Radically Rejuvenating Night Cream that I know my skin loves.
@@brookeelle6879 Maybe a Sephora moisturizer. But she was speaking of it in the same breath as CeraVe, which sells their ceramide moisturizer at the same price but for 500ml of product -- quite literally 10 times the amount. This is a pretty similar case for other accessible drugstore ceramide moisturizers. So I would say no, when it comes to those who cannot afford to buy a 16 dollar 50mL moisturizer every month, it is not inexpensive.
@@alliecinder $16 is not expensive and 500mls of a moisturizer for just your face is a ridiculous amount to compare to and it’s not even specifically formulated for the face, Cerave does have one specifically for the face and it’s $10 for 60mls. She didn’t say “the cheapest possible products on the market” she said inexpensive products that deliver results.
@@brookeelle6879 I am really glad to hear that $16 for a month supply of moisturizer is not expensive for you. That is really awesome! But it also demonstrates my point. Some people cannot afford to buy two different moisturizers for the face and body, and many more cannot afford to buy a moisturizer at all. This is why comparisons of considerably more expensive brands like Pacifica with bigger drugstore brands like CeraVe can sometimes be frustrating to some viewers. Because it's rarely acknowledged that these products are considerably less economically accessible than the drugstore products they are being compared to. A brand like, say, Pacifica, just isn't a viable alternative to the majority of, say, CeraVe users, who simply cannot afford products that are 10 times as expensive as the ones they're currently using. I'm not saying that it isn't a viable alternative for some, but for many it isn't. And since it is rarely mentioned, I guess I feel the need just to mention it as a matter of perspective. 'Inexpensive' is highly relative to a person's economic position. And although we are all guilty of it, describing something as 'inexpensive' is pretty problematic. The term takes a position on what the 'norm' is in terms of what's economically viable. And it's especially problematic when RU-vidrs call products inexpensive, or inexpensive alternatives, because the economic norm for RU-vidrs is not at all representative of the economic norm for the average viewer.
Have you tried Complex 15 moisturizer for face? I hear it's good for normal to oily combo skin. Not sure if it would make a great winter moisturizer because I heard people say it isn't greasy
The Australian Gold spf50 is probably the best sunblock I've ever found I live in Florida Southern Florida and every time I go out I put this on my face neck and the tops of my hands I've never found anything better and yeah it's just wonderful
On the topic of sunscreen, it’s just the target brand up&up mineral sunscreen lotion (reef friendly btw ❤️) and it’s lovely. It does leave a tiny white cast but I put a bit of my SPF 50 powder foundation on top of this and it’s LOVELY. I use it basically like a primer. My goal was to find something reef safe that would protect my skin and wouldn’t make me break out. This does the trick 💯 and it’s super cheap
personally I had a reallyyy bad experience with the salicylic acid cleanser (the inkey list) it made my skin worse,it caused many breakouts so I stopped using and my skin is doing sooo much better. i have really sensitive skin and it was way harsh for me. I don’t recommend it
Just a heads up some of those links are leading to the wrong place, both alpha arbutin links lead to the ordinary product, and the Inkey List Tranexamic Acid link leads to the ordinary product instead
I absolutely loved your review and especially about the inkey salicylic acid cleanser. I was wondering if I can add it to my routine since I am using epiduo at the moment or if I can add their hyaluronic serum as well. Anyway, thank you for all the effort you put into making these videos. You help us a lot!! Have a great day! :)
okay but how to you use these items in combination? I always just washed my face in the shower and then rubbed lotion on my face thats left on my hands IF im putting lotion on my body afterwards.. yes im bad. lol with combo skin but no acne besides a monthly little zit around my cycle.
Hello Cassandra, could you do seres for various ages and concerns? I want to create skincare routine for my mom who is 65 has loads of sun damage and grew up in generation where no face care was used at all. I myself am just 30 but tbh have great skin, the only concern is ageing, do to stupidity during youth and using tanning salons… so u see acne is not something I’m dealing, and hence why series according to age and issues would be perfect as I do believe you are professional who cares about her followers
hi cassandra, if you are taking tranexamic acid orally for heavy periods, is it safe to use it topically? asking for my mother - i can’t find this information online
Off topic but I contacted you @ your website concerning the Homeless and skincare piece you recently posted. Hopefully it will go through, because I was confused on the navigation. 💜
living in Australia sucks when it comes to beauty and skincare we can hardly get most of the inkey list range or the ordinary, I have heard something along the lines of it not being safe to use because out evriment here? and when you can stuff from brands but from US sites its 3 times what US customer buy for ahhh bloody aussie VS USD blows my mind
Australian gold is a bit too drying for everyday use for my very dry skin. I love it for long hikes or beach days. I want to try the cerave tinted mineral sunscreen but can't seem to get it in Canada 🥲🥲 Also can't get adapalene in Canada
I might also try to look towards Canadian skin care channels for recommendations (some might be more active on IG than their channel): Sincerely Miss Ash, Cathy on Skincare, MichXMash, trevor Ritchie, Jamie paige, Dr. Stephanie - the Blonde MD, Dr. Lisa Kellett, kindofstephen (cosmetic/skincare formulator, IG), Manes by Mell (curly hair), Jenna Catherine (cruelty free), kenna (plant based/natural beauty), Lakisha Adams (poc). I've also seen people comment that iHerb, ASOS or LookFantastic were options for getting some products as well.
Australian Gold costs more like 35$ where I live. (EU) So. Still looking for an affordable mineral (tinted) sunscreen that is aesthetically viable. Any tips?
Thankyouuu for this video. Its been days since I'm dredging to checkout products on my cart but I don't want to flush my money down drain (again) if it's not efficacious on my skin. Will check out some however I'm still struggling to pick the right vic c serum for me. Ughhh
Hey Cassandra, fun fact... the dropper of my B-Oil from the Ordinary looks the same, so I assume that they use a different dropper top for this product in general... :)
Thank you once again for all the information, super helpful! I have been following you for a while and was wonddering.. is there any chance you could give us ur stand on the L'occitane brand? I can't find any reviews for them on youtube. I have been using them for a while but would like to hear other people's opinions. I know they have fragrance but I wonder if the other products inside are worth the moneyZ...
Other great brands that have inexpensive products that work....Derma E, Art Naturals, Acure, Boots. They have some wonderful products that work great and most are under $20 some as the Boots under $10. They all have some hit or misses but that is with any brand. Plus all are either vegan and/or cruelty free.
Wow… I’m chock!! What fun and informative your videos are!!! I just can’t believe how much I enjoy every single of them!! And you’re so beautiful and authentic… estoy encantada con tus video!!! Please, could you recommend me a simple but effective routine for my teenagers boys? They’re struggling with acne y red marks. They have oily skin but sometimes it looks dehydrated… help please!!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Gracias ☺️
Cassandra, I’ve been watching you since those days. I had another account and account name in those days. But anyway, I was an acne suffering person then and loved watching your videos so I can cover up my acne like you. Now I’m all about skin care. Lol Yea I remember those days when you made videos with the floral couch in the background, your cat, and when you came out with your video about having two “vaginas” lol That seems like forever ago!
NuFace prefers you use their gels due to some ratio or other but others folks who use the devices have recommended ultrasound gel or even aloe vera. I'd check out a video by the organic esthetician, Conductivity Gel Alternatives | DIY Gel Tutorial + Microcurrent & RF DEMO.
Cassandra pleeeeeeeease for the love of everything that's good, stop mentioning these little surprising tidbits about your life that makes someone crave to know more😣😂
Bubble sounds like a good company, and I like that they support mental health. I understand they want to be available to most teens, but I can't get onboard with the fact that they have decided to sell at Walmart. If they wanted to be easily available, sell them at the drugstores. I know when I was a teen, I always looked at Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, etc. for skincare. Surely Bubble recognizes the problematic practices at Walmart and understands the boycott that many of us participate in. Being cruelty free should include not harming humans!!! ( Sigh)
@@cheekyb71 In Australia it's pretty similar (we do have The Inkey List) but as a former seller of luxury skincare I have found The Ordinary to be all o really need anyway. The range is so good. My favourite SPF is the Hamilton Every Day Face. I wonder if you can get that in NZ? I think it's Australian.
Thanks Cassandra. Hi from Australia. You have taught us so much about actives and always say you love this and that and that. I know C is usually for morning and A is usually for night but can you do a video that tells us what products can be layered and what shouldn't be layered and the best way to do it. I'd love to know how the pectogynol and B oil could be fitted into a routine for example. Thanks for sharing your amazing mind with the world!
Just wanted to leave a comment about the people who come to Cassandra's channel and leave comments. I really appreciate the feedback you all leave. I find that it helps me just as much as her recommendations. Not only that, I never read any catty or mean-spirited comments. So, thank you all for your helpful and considerate comments.
Thank you for showing some love to the Australian spf 50. I love it!! I don’t have to apply powder over it, it has a fantastic texture and protects me from the sun. Yayyyyy
I have Australian Gold and it's amazing sunscreen, the best I've ever had. However it was expensive, it was around 30$. I had to order it online. Still, no regrets. 🙂
I'm in oz too. California holds a special place in my heart so I'm really sad for them. I moved back into the city so I didn't have to worry anymore as it's getting so bad!
I am on my 4th tube of Australian Gold tinted after watching your previous video in it. Thank you for recommending it. The texture is amazing, it gives a little coverage, and it doesn’t give me breakouts 💜
Im actually really loving the inky list sunscreen! And I’m very acne prone. And I’m wondering if the Pacifica ceramide moisturizer would go well with adapalene gel?
