One of the best lessons(in my opinion): Don't give up even you have a disadvantageous position because your opponent might relax and suddenly blunder and lose! The same with life...
when i was a child, some went to sports. I went to play chess as in queens gambit in a hall with a lot of players. we also played chess to family birthdays, now that im thinking about this. i love playing chess, i love the strategy, mind games and psychology of it
a little lesson i learned from this video that I'd like to share with everyone💐🌸 "anyone can grow with chess" I wasn't a fan of chess not until i watched this video, I discovered that chess is a skill that anyone can keep on learing, fail at many times, developing strategies everytime you fail, create your own strategy, start winning, failing again, and winning. The more you fail the more you'll be exposed to risks, risks that you never expected to come your way and its your choice if you'd try again and again in order to learn the decisions you have to make to eliminate the simplest risks out of your way and eventuallu make learn a strategy that would make you eliminate the BIG RISKS you'd have to defeat because you didn't give up when you lost the game for so several times. You analyzed if I make this decision would it make me vounrable to a risk or not, learning how to trigger that small risk could let you know what your next decisions should be based on the past move you made that helped you to eliminate that risk in order to win your move. It's analysis, abiding by the rules, understanding the rules, and deciding what should be my next step towards that successful or risk taker move forward. Long story short, play the more you'd the game chess the more defense or offense strategies you'd be able to formulate. Failures aren't reasons for you to stop learning. FAILURES ARE REASONS FOR YOU TO START LEARNING WHY AND WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT TIME TO ELIMINATE THAT CHANCE OF FAILING IN ORDER TO BECOME SUCCESSFUL ONE STEP AT A TIME OR GREAT LEAPS. it's your choice, to ask ths experts WHAT DECISIONS DID YOU MAKE IN ORDER TO WIN THAT GAME? formulate strategies from their answers be a risk taker be inquisitive (ask the experts what should I do in order to develop skills like you?) develop strategies win or lose try again win or lose try harder and fail harder become resilient develop a strategy harder win or lose or choose know your opponent harder win or lose harder harder succeed harder succeed harder fail give up or keep going or take a break? keep going or take a break take a break analyze why did i fail? how will i win again keep going keep going learn learn keep going succeed easier said than done? you're right however its easier said that I must succeed, if i fail i will learn a lesson if i fail again i must try harder, win, win, fail why? take a brea and keep going, it's time for you to grow more, ask the experts, learn, practice, learn, practice, learn, practice, apply, win/lose, learn, win, repeat be resilient, succeed, repeat be resilient, lose, be resilient, learn, fail, succeed, practice learn and ask for professional guidance and live a successful story if they've done it, you can do it too, just commit to your ambition, take the risks, learn from failure, ask help from processionals and win or lose you'll learn something new,a growth mindset is yours to keep, and be successful in your life its free to create choices and its all yours to own so what's your next move in life? this video is so inspirational thank you 💐🌸 I hope all of you got inspired too matane it's timr learn chess both in chess and in life
Like a patient little boy who never gave up on his dream until he managed to get ahead in life and then finally he can now afford to get a surgery to be a transwoman...a transqueen if you will.
As a Chess player, I could not agree more! Keep up the good work Alux! 👊Three of the main things I like to teach my students is that (1) Chess teaches you to think before you move, which translates into "think before you speak and act" in life. (2) In Chess just like in life, both players start with the same amount of time (I sometimes say resources in general but it could be controversial lol). Consequently, success is determined by your own decisions and if you fail, you cannot blame anyone other than yourself. (3) If we win is because of our opponent's mistakes play a more significant role than our own skills. Let’s not forget that a Chess game without any mistakes would be a draw. This way, Chess provides us with another valuable life lesson: be humble at all times.
What I love about chess is that anywhere in the world you can sit down with someone and play a game even if you don't speak the same language. It's a great way to connect with people and learn about them without having a common language!
One golden rule in chess is to restrict moving powerful pieces like queen and rook in the beginning of the game to avoid getting exposed to dangerous attacks. Do not bring out big ideas too soon, develop solid strategy to beat potential competition.
If all my strategies fail , I always prioritize a Pawn to Crown. Atleast save 2 at most towards the end of the game. Wprks like a charm. Oh and always have a Rock by your side all the time.
Great video! As a chess player with a rating of over 2000 for many years, my view of the chess skills applied to the business/life are 1. You plan your outcome many moves in advance. The better your opponent the more you need to plan. As a result, you may not in a strong situation until many moves later, but your goal is to win the game. I have had to plan over 20 plus moves in advance for some opponents. 2. You make sacrifices to lead your opponent down a path where you will be victorious. As a lawyer and in business transactions I have used this tactic all the time where my opponent thought they were winning based on the small sacrifices I gave. So keeping your emotions in check and staying with the plan is critical. 3. You are cautious with every move you make. You look first several times before you make a move without ever being careless. As in chess and real life you cannot undo moves. 4. You understand the skill level of your opponent, are they setting you up for a latter defeat or are they simply inexperienced and making foolish moves. 5. You understand the personality of your opponent. Are they ethical, are they an attacker, are they passive, what is their style of play. 6 You understand the strengths and weakness of your opponent. Which pieces do they favor, and which pieces are they willing to sacrifice. 7. After you win, you compliment your opponent on their play and never gloat on your victory. In the business world if you opponent feels they lost they will try to sue or get revenge in some way. This is not the movies where people just walk away. 8. You review your last matches, and you try to improve in the future. You get coaches, expert advice, read, watch RU-vid videos and learn from your peers. However, you need to constantly improve to get your rating higher.
I recall seeing “chess lessons for beginners” advertising in the elevator and lobby at the library. Well you better believe it, I signed up and this is where I learn how to play the game. Although I am an amateur, I will one day become a Pro. Knowing that it’s a great mental workout and can raise my IQ, is the best lesson I can learn from chess.
Tarot reader’s correct HOWEVER IQ ain’t worth shit if not developed (from a man w/ IQ just below MENSA). Chess creates many neuro pathways, providing opportunities for white matter to connect regions of the brain otherwise wouldn’t=FUNCTIONAL increase
Taught me the value of reading how-to books. On my limited circle growing up I was naturally gifted at chess so thought I didn't need to read. That was until I started meeting people not as gifted but who read. I learned that my natural talent was no match for the acquired wisdom of experienced experts. I became far better reading and playing the examples till I understood them. I also learned the difference between tactics, moves with a clear forced outcome, and strategy, moves that improve your potential without the result yet being clear. Very different modes of thought. Critical in life to know which mode is key right now.
Playing it since I was 6 years old, stopped after mediocre performance in University level tournaments. Thanks to Queen's Gambit and recent hype for chess, I'm back to playing it with childlike passion ❤️💯 @Alux - kudos to your content
As an educator and avid chess player, I have a great idea. Can alux grade its videos by identifying whether it contains profanity (+Profanity) or no profanity (-Profanity)? This would serve as an ideal measure and time saver for teachers to consider if they can show their classes. Great video.
I've also noticed Alux has adopted profanity recently. Personally I think it degrades their channel, but it's their channel so they'll do as they please.
I was finally able to beat the A.I in 3D chess on my pc at level 25 after watching the 6th episode of The Queen's Gambit. I realized that the only way to win after a certain level was to switch the a.i back to level 1 between as many moves as I saw fit and win, yes I know, it's not at all fair, but that thing has like 10^31 moves built into it, whereas I only know like 9 moves at best. I had to even out the field a bit, and I learned that sometimes the only way to win is to do what works and not necessarily what's "right".
Alway be 2 steps ahead the enemies of your life whoever it may be, friends family or lovers who become your haters for life 😆 😝 “Never fight the same enemy or they will learn your art of war”
Chess teaches you that if you lose, you are only to blame yourself for that. Chess board is a whole world which you can manipulate according to your will. If you step on the wrong square, you lose! Akin to life.
That you can win even if you're on the extreme losing side by triggering a stalemate. Keep fighting, keep strategizing even if all hope is lost for you.

What chess teaches also: is that you cannot just get good by doing it (even if many people always say: I just learn by doing), although in chess that''s not the case. You have to study the game. theory and follow classes, trust me, you won't get any better by only playing chess. Which leads me to a next question: does this also applies for life? Comment if you know the answer. Have a nice day!
Chess teaches vision, strategy, execution, risk management, creativity, learn from mistakes.. respect the opponent.. don't be over or under confident. Also we pre occupied by powers rather board..space
Based on position we don't need queen to attack.. just pawn or bishop might be enough.. losing queen also doesn't matter some times.. based on board position.. but most of the time think about powers rather winning game..
See multiple paths simultaneously, with the right one highlighted. This is the most priceless video people could watch. Ironically it’s how I think without ever playing a game of chess😊
Every move you make in chess is suppose to serve one of two purposes. It is either suppose to get you one step closer to checkmating your opponent, or it's suppose to get you one step closer to not getting checkmated. But if the move serves neither purpose it was a wasted move.
I will return to chess, I played it in my childhood, but then life get me into Strong and Special class and I become complacent with books and every options that improve my knowledge. In Cambodia, where I am from and during my high school, there is a system of admitting strong class or special class student; right after I get into I fall into the romantic of books and knowledge of wherever I can get them and until now.
WOW... Bravo! Brilliant comparison. 10/10 Alux damn!!! It made me remember that I fuckin LOVE chess... and business too!! That game teach so much, that game is smart, that game improved my thinking... Always play smart, always strategic, controlling your emotions... It's a war just like in business. Wow Alux.com, that's a hit right there. Thank you. I feel supercharged.
I can beat people that are bad at chess, but not people that are good. I play the game because it's fun and sometimes, that's something I learn from it. It's worth the fun just to play.
never lose your queen coz she is the second driving force to attack and defense your playing strategy, and keep your nights and bishops for balancing the game. lastly use your pons for strategy, defense and attack mode.
A game that forces you calculate probabilities, to judge the actions of several players and to make critical decisions with incomplete information is better analogue of life than chess: that game is called POKER. You learn when to hold when to pass when to bluff and when to walk away.
Uh-oh... I suck at the chess game and I suck at chess in life... Can't we just play checkers or bingo or the simple stuff? Pretty please? 🙏🏾 Insightful video though
One more thing… your best friend/ally can turn out to be your worst enemy if they are jealous or eazy to manipulate by your opponent to use against you! This is the biggest and most important lesson! Always have a few trump cards faced down for the unexpected situations!
