This is a long one. I apologize for the audio quality for the MMANA-GAL portion, I won't be using that mic again. I started with an explanation of my setup, as well as the MMANA GAL modeling of the antenna I was using for this activation. I made a 15 Meter only delta loop out of 28 AWG BNTechGo wire. I use 550 cord tied to the corners to keep the shape.
The Jackite pole works extremely well for supporting these antennas in the coastal wind. It hardly moves at all.
Measurements for my Delta Loop (VF .88):
Top to bottom corner - 5.3 meters
Bottom corner to feed point - 1.81 meters
Total wire - 14.22 meters
Today's Setup:
Homebrew 15 Meter center fed Delta Loop
Jackite 31 Foot pole
Icom IC-705
CWMorse SP4
RG-58 Coax
Campstools
Thanks for watching, I appreciate it.

You might model and compare to an inverted V and a dipole at similar height. I use EZNEC and it’s completely free now.

I had a similar comment on my 10m delta loop, so I ran through the testing. Basically identical, with the Delta Loop fed how I have it giving 1db greater gain overall 8 degree higher takeoff than a dipole. The DLoop gave nearly the exact same gain at the peak takeoff of the dipole. Close enough that I don't expect any measureable difference in the field to be honest. The biggest difference are human factors, where I can carry ~5m less feed line using the delta loop because I'm not running coax to the top of my expandable pole. If it ever stops raining, I'll go out and test out a dipole. Thanks for watching!

@@CoaxAndCampstools you seem to have it right. I like to think of a square loop as two stacked dipoles 1/4 wave apart with the ends bent down on the top one and the ends bent up on the bottom one. The bottom one fed with coax and the top one fed directly from the bottom one. That gives maybe 1 dB gain over a single straight dipole under ideal conditions. So the determining factor becomes convenience. I even use a Hustler mobile antenna on a stake mount a lot for convenience!

Convenience > dB, lol.
