Hi everyone, I just thought how fun it would be to make a tutorial using up your scrap fabrics. These quilted coasters are the perfect gift-giving idea and brilliant last-minute stocking fillers too!
You can make a pretty set of 4 in under 30 minutes which is perfect at this time of year when everyone is busy.

Wonderful gifts. I would lay a fat quarter of batt. Fabric on top and quilt. Then cut. Might save some time

What is "wadding"? My Granny used that term when she taught me to quilt. I didn't learn the word" batting" until later. I never thought to ask her what the difference was.

Wadding is man made where batting is usually cotton both used for quilting x

in trying to organise all my fabric ive found myself just making tonnes of small crafts out of my scraps, because there are so many and i dont have space to store them, but i dont want to throw them out. I dont own any wadding or batting, however ive read that you can repurpose old fleece and use that instead? i have tonnes of old fleece pjs that i didnt want to throw away (im a hoarder haha), so i might use those instead, Thanks for the tutorial! 💖

Very nice & quick to make. I have never quilted but now I would love to start and this tutorial is ideal for me. I have one question if you could help me with, what is the difference between batting and wading? Thank you so much.

Batting is usually made from cotton where wadding is usually man made fibre xxx
