Woah, suprised you thought so highly of my mods. Swag The issues with the smugglers gun you mentioned, it is actually loaded with small energy cells, I messed up the muntions version but it should be fixed, if you look closer its clearly cells in that clip. The receivers wasnt intentional, I should have made it impossible to change out the receiver.
Dont worry. If you are not happy with the current state of your mod, you can always upgrade it and then upload the updated file of the mod. Thankfully, Nexusmods is built like that. And yes, you are lucky. Pancuronium is known for his insensitive frankness. Thank you for your service, sir mod maker!
I never even knew about the power armor bug. That’s so funny. I’m not typically using PA so that’s one reason. I also rarely use a pistol when I’m in it. That’s my “bigboi gonna have me some fun” option.
First i appreciate your reviews. Unlike popular showcases, we get an actual review so thank you! Less important (and im really not trying to start an argument), i really don't understand your recommendations on this video. Im not saying they were terrible picks, but if you listen to what you say about the weapons, i would think that you would recommend the mods with the fewest bugs, most balanced, and those with custom animations all in one. Its odd to me that your recommended mods included one with the double footsteps bug. Just an observation. Doesn't really matter which one you recommend since i am more concerned with your actual review.
A majority of people don't use power armor and therefore don't care about the double footsteps issue. It's not something that should condemn a mod if it has other redeeming qualities.
Thank you for this video, thank you for the channel. Was never into fall out but recently got fo4 on sale and played for first time. LOVE IT! delighted to stumble upon this channel and other fall out 4 fans.
I have a video idea, best reanimation mods for vanilla weapons. Someone recently released a reanimation for pipe weapons and it's the first of it's kind.
if any weapons modders are watching this, please please PLEASE make a Smith & Wesson Model 39, it's a handgun that was popular in the 50's-70's and was later modified by the Seals into the Mk.22. it's a SUPER retro handgun.
I guess it's obvious after one year, but if anyone reads this I'll just say, I don't think skimpy stuff is Pan's style. He's made some disparaging remarks about CBBE. Once he called it Caliente's Big Butt Enhancement and on another occasion he switched it up to Big Boobs Enhancements. He's also said something to the effect of, "I don't use bodiy replacers, because I can keep my porn separate from my game." Classic Pancurioum stuff there. That was funny as hell cuz I know I can't. Anyway, if you watch enough of Pan's reviews you'll pick up on the theme that he likes to keep things as compatible and performance enhancing and sometimes that means getting rid of extra complexity, but you can still cop the style of his methodology and try it yourself. * Install the the mod, * Try it in a test environment looking for the things he talks about, * Take your notes * Try it in the game, * Look at its conflicts in xEdit. Then make your informed decision; Keep or Trash He's got his taste and makes his compromises and you got yours. But if you ever findthe MxR of "slooty" mods done Pancurium style, post it up here. I'm down. Love and Peace. Later
Calling a mod mediocre for not having custom animations is a bit harsh, a slight clipping issue isn’t going to break your immersion when the game itself is literally made by Bethesda, clipping is the least of the issues you face in Bethesda games so I hardly see how it could make a mod “mediocre”
id love to see you do a video on the best explosives, grenade and rocket launcher mods. that whole category feels so lacking in vanilla especially compared to something like fallout new vegas
is the "deliverer animation" some sort of running gag? bc honestly im confused why its sometimes "just fine" and "ok" and other times "look bad" and "unfortunately it uses Deliverer animations"?
After watching his pistol mod reviews (IMHO) Pan makes the point that some mod authors could make a pistol mod something extraordinary by making custom animations that are married to the model for each view i.e. 1st person, 3rd person, 1st person in power armor and finally 3rd person in power armor. But my guess is that the majority of pistol model makers are just that: model makers. So what they do is borrow animations from the game itself (and sometimes even the animations from other pistol mods). So imagine a pistol model maker who makes a slammin' pistol but has to pick an animation from the game since they don't know how to or don't want or have the time to learn how to create and inpliment custom animation for their model. What to do? Borrow. And what is available to borrow? Well, something that works good enough. So you start to see a pattern. The Deliverer animation just simply works with power armor by not producing the "double footstep glitch". It might look dumb as hell for the given model with say, hands in the wrong places or hella clipping but it gets the mod done and open on the Nexus with the added bonus of not nerfing the power armor mechanics and sound. Some poorly picked animations can even lead to the wierdest shit going wrong. Some models he has reviewed have great custom 1st person animations that completely match the model but then for some reason the modeller makes the decision to just borrow animations for the other views. Why? I'll leave the answer to you. And the animation that appears to be borrowed the most is... you guess it, the Deliverer. So he dings those modders when it's a poor fit and poo-poos the modders when they merely do just enough to get the job done. If you download these types of mods and you notice the clicking, poor alignment or just egerious and lazy implementation then you might have a hard time not seeing it again and again and again. Personally, some of these models look great in 1st person which is where I spend the majority of my time and now that I know about the 3rd person and power armor view thing, I've made a conscious decision to just never be caught in power armor with a pistol. Again, for me, I just think it's kind of ridiculous to be in POWER ARMOR with a mere pistol. But he is going in depth and giving you a consistently organized, unvarnished review with out blowing smoke or sunshine. Just the fact delivered with his unique dead pan style (which I personally love compared to all the Hype reviews of broken mods). So that's the Deliverer (and 10mm pistol) running theme. Now for me, he pointed out that the mod of the pistol that I want to purchase in real life is probably the most flawed in the bunch. It has no script injection, shitty animations, horrible sounds, totally not balanced for the game, and limited modifications (The Smith & Wesson M&P Performance center 2.0 Full size or compact, which ever). But because that modder's model looks so good, I am going to download and install it in my game. I could correct some shit in xEdit and 4estGimp's ECO and use it or just sit it on a table to take screen shots of it. Pan the Man gives you the straight facts so you can do your own thing with your game. I know this explanation is longer than the whole video but I hope it helps explains his running complaint and helps you use his methodical method of evaluating mods yourself and make your own informed decision. Much love. Peace.
My main gripe with downloading weapon mods is that they're all balanced very poorly.. usually overpowered, but it's all over the place. I want to do a playthrough with weapons around the 90's-early 2000's era but I guess balancing them all and fixing the leveled lists will be the main challenge.
Dig it. After a decade of Hyped up top 10 broken mod you need to download now crap channels, Pancurium's deadpan style is music to my ears. I just wish he understood that even though he can't stand the sound of his own voice, the rest of us love it. He's like the Anthony Jeselnik of Fallout reviews. Maybe if he had a production team he wouldn't have to drag himself through hell to make these reviews. I'd work for him (me and my LLM could help right the scripts after I train it on his style ). Jeez look at the cheats and freaks that work for Mr. Beast. Fuck that creep. Pan's the salt of the earth MAN!
For me, actual effectiveness doesn't matter. The C96/Type 95, PPSH, BAR, Suomi, Sten-MK II, and other WWI and WWII guns may be borderline ineffective compared to modern tactical stuff, but I love the aesthetic far more.
@@Buttsmcgee069 That's besides the point. One's like the Sten are inferior to modern automatics. If they were virtually identical, the military would still be using them
I think he may have done 2 different eight bugs Bethesda never fixed videos. That might get some people pointed in the right direction. And I think he did performance enhancing mods and even addressed mods that add unnessecesary complexity at the cost of performance. He's got a deep library of videos now. Hope this helps somebody.
This guy has something against munitions. All the ammo types don't spawn immediately, you need to enable them in the holotape, which for many mods does it automatically for you.
I think Oxhorn wasn't a big fan of 6 million different ammo types spamming all the containers either. I use Munition because it's the one he dissed the least. And I had already tried the others. Pan's not god, Don't take it personally. To each his own. Just make your informed decision and enjoy your game. Peace.
@Gyrfalcon312 Can't wait for the Pack that Dak and Pig are working on. Don't know how much space it'll be though. My guess is 300 - 600 mb, if it's 400 mb or so that would be fine as that's about equal to how much mb weapon mods take up in my LO.
6:42 wrong, the luger is a pistol that started production before world war 1, granted it saw some use during the second world war, but it was replaced by the P38
Again, thank you for covering simple, "ugly" mods, I'm looking for those. Old weapons should be ugly, unless they're found in the depth of some forgotten secret military base. I'm just skipping the throwaway tacticool modern weapon sections like those about the Glocks.
I used the HK for awhile and loved it but it felt a little out of place for an apocalyptic game so I traded it out for the glock, (like in Mad Max: Fury Road). Still not quite lore accurate but close enough.
