This channel loves to rag on Days Gone. Brilliant game, there was alot to build from. I wish ymthey would reconsider and do a sequel. I also want a sequel to John Carter, neither will likely happen but nice to dream.
Death Stranding has a beautiful gameplay and world but the story, oh boy, maybe chatpgt could have done something better. Days gone is amazing, Starfield is a decent game, not as good as Fallout or ES but still entertaining and full of things to do.
This. I don’t play every game as who can, but I follow many games especially big releases, as well as watch at least 3 contrasting reviews for them. Starfield was a fine game but so many super fans were giving it 10/10’s that it just simply wasn’t. No hate cause it’s Xbox exclusive it’s just not as good as people were hyping it to be
I seen a lot of people split on A Plague Tale Requiem. Saying it was stretched too long (being around 8-9hrs longer than the original and ridiculously unfair combat & stealth sections etc.
Thank you or another great list. I have a few comments: Days Gone is pretty mediocre all around, but more fun than it should be. The crafting and survival mechanics are meh, the story is meh, the combat takes awhile to get interesting. But it's a fun, kind of casual, open world zombie game. Every time an overhyped AAA title flops, or adds a lot of monetization after the initial reviews post, I wish they made more games like Days Gone. RE 3 has outstanding combat, the dodge mechanics are a blast,, and the gun variety and customization rivals big budget FPS games. But it's over before you can get much out of the mechanics. ME 3 only gets more disappointing as time goes by. They locked Javvik behind a paywall, back then most players only bought DLC within 60 days of a game's release. EA has always pioneered predatory monetization of games, and they released ME with important parts of the game set aside for DLC and an ending that let their entire franchise. I've heard that the planned on selling a decent ending as DLC, but the backlash made them release a slightly less disappointing ending for free.
TLOU2 was great. The only downside was having to see emotional fan boys get upset about the story. I guess it was better than seeing incels lose their minds over the game.
Especially in an era of narrative first games becoming successful. Look at the dark picture anthology. Detroit: Become human. The demise of that game was it divisive marketing. Really wish someone would give that franchise another chance. Would love to see the narrative expand!😢
I haven’t heard any division on MGS 5. The fact that the narrative isn’t finished is just a matter of record. People like the game, but the story isn’t finished.
@@iraford5788 the leslies, the masculine femmies, the decharacterization of the previous game's male protagonist to make choices that he wouldn't. It's entire social structure contradicts reality, a fantasy world played off as real.
I am not into debating what is woke or not, I find identity politics boring and the people who go on about them on both sides are equally as boring. I will never like Abby, because she killed Joel, but as a game, gameplay wise and stealth wise it is fun. It is really great game and very well made. The game has alot of layers to it.
I'm basing this on many "conversations" (ehem...) that I witnessed back then - they probably meant the trailers that, my opinon - expertly added to the game in a way I personally never saw in a game before, however not everyone seem to understood this while playing, thus treated them as misleading. I can understand why but I'm very glad they did it as they did.
Why didn't Splinter Cell Blacklist make the cut? It's not a bad game by any means, and I've played it. The main reason people hated it is because Sam Fisher wasn't portrayed and voiced by Michael Ironside, which I can understand that.
Too much hate for days gone and res evil 3 on these channels. Never heard anyone that’s played either complain. Just because a few people don’t like it, it’s decisive 🤔. That can be said of all games. Most of these are home runs. Barring your personal preference. Check the numbers.
Seriously..? A *"divisive"* single player game list that doesn't include *_Hogwarts: Legacy_* just shows YOU are part of the problem for not calling out the lunatics that tried to cancel the best selling game of that year.
the minority of lunnies always try that, and now with trying to police stellar blade, they got a very small win with covering tifa. But they were especially loud about hogwarts.
May be a bit of a Hot Take, but I actually enjoyed REmake 3 better than 2, at least from a storytelling perspective. While I could play through both games in a single weekend, I couldn't stand the climax of REmake 2, with both scenarios having a repeated set piece/boss fight. This is a problem I didn't like in the original game back in the PS1 days and was hoping after three generations, it would be corrected. Despite missing setpieces, REmake 3 is probably one of the better reimaginings of one of my favorite games of the series, and if you look at it from that lens, it's easier to appreciate. But also, I bought The Order 1886 day one and enjoyed the hell out of it in spite of the detracting statements made about even prior to release thanks to leaks. A thoroughly underrated gem that deserves a revisit.
I liked RE3 better as well but mostly because I cannot stand Mr X in RE2, it ruins a part of the game for me, too much « pressure », I like to take my time. Nemesis doesn’t do that (which is something most people don’t like though)
Due this day i dont fall off about the people defending the Order as if it was a great game to begin with because those guys werent even being trasparent and honest with the criticism. I played the game 2 times and beat while getting the platnium and even i admit that it was an OKAY game. Not a Bad nor good just OKAY. For me like a 67/100 game. why? Its because it relly so much on being a movie than a game with its cutscenes, VERY easy to beat, Hilarious copy paste boss fights in Cutscense basically, cliff hanger ending, dont even get me starter on its stp Stealth section, was Short as heck literally 7 hours with its cutscenes and preatty much after you plat the game you DiNT get to do anything else there werent ANY replayability whatsoever after you even manage to get the platnium the game could've been phenomenal if it wasnt for those flaws based around the game when i played it overall so its okay to get it for less than $15 however back in the day for 60? Hek noo. So my opinion will remain the same and for the folks that are being dishonest about saying that "its one of the best games ever on the PS" no offence your talking a load of sht.
The physics engine of GTA4 wipes the floor with ALL of the other games in the franchise. Takes a while to get used to, but drifting all over the place is great!
TLOU-2 GTA-4 DAYS-GONE RISE-OF-THE-RONIN FF-16 & ARKHAM-KNIGHT Aren't Divisive , They Are Masterpieces. Plus WITCHER-3 Was Released With a 100× More Bugs Than DAYS-GONE.
I don't think it was the game as a whole it was the ending specifically. Everything you did for the rest of the story didn't really build up to anything.
@@bobjacob4237 Yeah the endings still kind of made sense to me which is why I kind of let Bioware off the hook but they were weak really. It's still an awesome trilogy though and I can see why wrapping something like this up was always going to be difficult given the many directions the story could go in.. I think it's one of those things where no matter what they did they'd have pissed somebody off such is the way of things. The trilogy is still one o fm yfavourite series of games though and I still play it did anothre playthrouh not that long ago in fact.
@sjsharp2007 well it was just a different colour palette by the end of it. It would have been incredibly difficult to have everything join up. The last mission would be like 3 or 4 hours long probably but still could have done more with it. But at least they put out a really good Citadel DLC afterwards.
It was sort of a given Joel would die in the follow up. He made a selfish decision, one borne out of his trauma, and killed a lot of people. There had to be consequences
"Abby was right"...Well, Joel just did what every father would do in the same situation. So, he is relatable. On the other hand, nothing about the second game plot makes sense, including Abby. She is revenge-induced. OK, I got that. But what about Joel's descaracterization, and what about the plot being coincidence-driven? I can only assume that Bruce did all the work in the first game, and Neil's inability as a writer is apparent in the sequel.
@@bizmonkey007Exactly, he wasn't a bad person. Just a guy who lost his daughter and spent years struggling to survive. Then he formed a relationship with Ellie and she became like another daughter to him. Most folk if they were honest would choose family vs saving the world. I know I would.
