Some of or most of these diamonds belong to Africa. They should be sold at Sothebys with the profit given to the poor. Colonialism,slavery and war was the cost of those gems.

DeBeers control the diamond market, they have secure warehouses full of diamonds & keep their price artificially inflated & high by carefully controlling their release into the market & the use of sleek advertising & psychology. Most of these diamonds were stolen from India. Ancient India had these diamonds grafted on the forehead of gods and goddesses idols. Hope diamond was grafted on the forehead of godess Sita. Indians are loyal and non materialistic, however western world's dirt mindset took all of these.

I cant even fathom paying millions of $ for a rock. Its crazy how expensive these all have become. They are beautiful, but seriously They are rocks. Its fascinating to me that they have so much worth.
It takes a ton of work to even find a gemstone deposit. I've been mining gemstones and precious metals for the past 5 years to turn into jewelry for my business. Most of these stones are worth every penny for the time, money, and work put into finding them. The Ekati diamond mine in Canada took nearly 20 years to find and exploration and setting up the mine costed over a billion dollars.
there's also another large size diamond called Darya-y-Noor (Sea of Light) still in the Imperial Jewels museum in Tehran, Iran ... it's been a national property actually since the turn of the last century if not earlier ...
As beautiful as the stones may look in the end, I certainly wouldn't spend any money on them - I'd rather spend that on my animals and a part on the Greek, at least I'll be full. Yes, some people really don't know what to do with all the money - but if you ask these rich rascals for a donation - they suddenly don't have a cent left.
That was Queen Alexandra, wife of Edward the VII, in the photo, not Queen Elizabeth. The diamond was traditionally placed in the crown of the Queen ,Alexandra, Mary then Elizabeth. Charles' mistress did not used the diamond in her crown....says a lots....considering many will NEVER see her as Queen.
The message that you should take from this film is that most of the diamonds came from South Africa and South Africa has yet to prosper. Looks like they US and Europe have been robbing them blind for centuries. The last Diamond was stolen like everything else by the English crown from India. Sad.
It's great to have the history for these stones but the pictures you showed in relation to the Sancy Stone were Henry III and IV of England not of France as it should have been. Indeed, the reason Henry III of France wore the hat (and others) that the diamond was used to decorate was because he was embarrassed by his baldness.
So beautiful, but just think what someone can do with those millions instead of putting it on a finger. No more than 50k should be worn and that’s pushing it, in my mind of course.
I live a stone throw away from De Beers head office. the poverty that surrounds us is unbelievable, yet De Beers mine all these stones under their feet, and enjoy the spoils. Give the money and profits to the rightfull people....

I am perfectly happy with CZ’s. I can’t imagine that much money for a clear rock. They are beautiful, but taken out of context they look like clear colored glass. Too rich for my taste. Kind of surprised that the Queen doesn’t have the centenary diamond as she has the Cullinan diamonds.

please list your title the most valuable diamonds in the world and not the most valuable jewels. Because I cannot stand diamonds and I ran through your video to make sure that they were all diamonds. There are much more beautiful stones and rarer stones out there than diamonds. Not only have there been stones that have been taken from their home countries against the will of the people. There is conflict diamonds. And there’s a controversy of DeBeers hoarding diamonds to artificially raise the price. So people who glorify diamonds to me aren’t worth hearing or seeing from. Please give other gemstones a chance and show the beauty of them instead of always having to talk about diamonds. Blah blah blah
