Seeds and Starts are up and running but it’s been getting real hot. And, these fragile newbies generally prefer less intense temperatures.
Moisture is critical but roots are still tiny and the leaves are easily scorched by high temp.
So . . . let’s tackle these challenges and find ways to support new plants during a heat wave.
A few strategies:
• Shade lovers can be behind taller plants
• Use paddles to provide shade while plants are established
• Hand water (rather than drip irrigation) for the early days of plants in the garden
