That's so true because pop songs we're never written to be played as instrumentals. When played as instrumentals they sound boring. Add a singing voice and that song comes alive.
Jason sir, your singing adds life to chords.. period!!! Am so thankful to have found you here.. was never blessed to have any piano teacher in my life. I am late, but lucky!
Jason, I have to say that you knocked it out of the park with this one. I was stuck on C major for the longest time and recently moved to G major and loved the tones, but I have grown bored of the progression in this key as well. Now I have 15 more awesome progressions to learn! You are amazing at what you do and you have the most effective video tools of any teacher on RU-vid. You show the keys being played, you show the notes in the scale, you have the chords/notes shown in real time as you are playing, you play real world-popular songs to relate the structures to and your handwritten notes show clearly what is going on. Thank you so much!
Now this channel is going to flourish!! The content and the style of teaching is just way too amazing. Nothing superficial, all valuable! I am glad I found this channel.
Thank you, Jason, for sharing your gift to the world! I am learning a lot from your videos. May God bless you greatly as you have blessed others! THANKS!
You are a great teacher… there is so much great information in this last lesson I’ve been looking for it for a long time… thank you for not playing in the key of C
Besides you being are a VERY good teacher, I just get a huge smile on my face when I see you get carried away explaining and playing examples… love your videos: pure gold and very much appreciated giving all this free content. Best regards.
I'm proud of myself for /discovering my new favourite piano teacher.I'm trying to up my intermediate and I'm confident with you in that journey,Thanks. And you make playing piano so fun
Have been looking for a comprehensive guide for popular progression for a long time! This is great. Also, love that performance in front of each video, so brilliant and heartfelt
Excellent stuff. Using the "numbers system" makes some puzzling things make sense. One thing that helped me a long time ago to figure out the different key signatures was that the major scale has a half step between 3 and 4 and 7 and 8. Once you figure that simple thing out, the scales will make a LOT more sense. Good job. Once you get the numbers, it doesn't matter what key the song is in. 1-4-5 verse with a 2-5 chorus and a 1-2-4-5 bridge can be played in in ANY key. Keep up the good work. Great to see someone emphasizing numbers.
This guy has really something for us to learn from. I'm a big fan of him. Jason, could we have another post from you on playing different music kind on piano i.e. jazz, rock, rumba, waltz, etc.?
Jason great lesson you can see how chord progressions can really go with so many different melodies and rythems. With so many different styles of music . Ty
You are such a gift to the world. Your voice is so energetic. I love it. I am so happy to have the opportunity to learn with you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
I love this lesson, very informative for so many scales. The diff rhythm you use, are very helpful and that’s my problem how to make the progression sound good❤ thank you! My piano hero😊

I need to Tell you. You just make it look sooooo easy. I have been teaching music for past 7 years and this changes my thoughts. But I wonder how you teach this to the very beginners.
What an excellent method of teaching by you Sir. Though I'm not so much regular practitioner of Piano but very much fond of. One humble request Sir please I need the theoretical calculation of chord application trick on rhythm as you demonstrated at least for a piano lover like me. I'll remain ever grateful to you Sir & that will certainly increase my interest to keep on practicing piano on regular basis. Thanks a lot Sir.
Sure Santanu! Thanks for watching! So many videos of chord application are on the channel. Please browse through or else visit our website for easy access: www.nathanielschool.com/video-courses
... only thing left to do is Rhythm Changes... Excellent lesson. I'm slowly trying to learn extensions, voicings, and chord shapes. But these progressions get the job done and are easier to memorize. But if you have strategies for memorizing neo soul chords, I'd pray for your health, prosperity, and happiness.

Oh Jason, that's awesome. That's for good inspiration. You are welcome to make such compilations more often. I found the best from minute 11:27. Keep it up. Godd bless you.
Thanks a ton for your support😄, hope you enjoyed the video. We do have some videos based on vocal exercises. I'm attaching a link of one of the videos😊 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-B4XNQ_t7N7k.html
Minute 12:30 so you play some chords along the scale. So what you did play between the chords as chordchanging. Often I heared that you play some kind of tones between 2 chords also some chordprogression. May you can make a tutorial how to train or drill that for working all the playtime. I hope you understand what I mean. Thanks a lot.
