Baggies or bread bags serve quite well to keep your feet dry, and I suggest wearing them OVER the socks and inside the shoes. Add a roll of waxed or unwaxed floss to your medical kits and sewing gear. Don't forget needles. A Q tip or cotton ball with a dab of petroleum jelly will easily start from the spark from a dead lighter. Don't throw away lighters until they no longer spark. A ball of string, or better yet, clothesline is truly handy, as is a roll of good duct tape.
The problem with plastic bags is they make your feet sweat, which them causes more likelihood of freezing and frostbite. In cold weather, if you layer with a sock then a kneehigh nylon and then another cotton sock, your feet will stay warmer. The cotton will wick the moisture away from your feet, keeping them much warmer.
My brother use to take the bic style lighters apart and salvage the flint from them and then he’d put them in his zippo lighter!! I thought that was absolutely genius!!❤ I’ve done it for years my husband would find bic lighters around the house that didn’t work lol I explained that I take the flint out and use them n my zippo
The window security alarms can be rigged with fishing line as trip alarms for perimeter security. Those walkway solar lights are cheap and last long put out during day to charge in sun and bring inside for light at night. Use as torch. Roll of cheap twine for cordage. Duck tape
Solar yard lights were good to have several years ago after our house was damaged by a tornado. Three five lumen lights can brighten a room and minimize shadows when everything around you is only lit by nature. There are better, much brighter offerings now, and a set of them is pretty cheap.

Those solar yard lights came in handy last hurrkcane when we lost power. I was able to give them to neighbors light different rooms in the house and the next they just set them outside to recharge
and they are good to wrap your sleeping bag/yourself in an emergency when your cold/wet to warm up and dry off. I have a plastic table cloth in my B.O.B. use it to put between my hammock and sleeping bag when I do bug out drills. it helps keep my sleeping bag dry plus it helps trap my body heat and keeps me warmer. My emergency shelter is 2 of the 4x6 tarps from Dollar tree btw.
I assume they are going with stay in place situations. But that said still kinda light on the suggestions. It’s enough to let someone die later I guess.
One item i find occasionally at our local dollar store which is VERY handy for those of us getting older are Large Fresnel lenses (magnifying sheets) about 8x10" roughly as i recall.....handy when glasses arent around or not quite cutting it for super fine print and handy for fire starter on a sunny day!
VERY good list but Here a few more...... 1. Duct tape, I have a roll in my bug out bag, no it's not going to last as long as gorilla tape or name brand Duct tape but you don't need it to. 2. Lighter Fluid and Flints, You covered lighters but not lighter fluid, I have a Zippo lighter, a can of dollar tree lighter fluid and a 6 pack of flints in my B.O.B. a little squirt on wet wood also helps it start burning. 4. Roll of sheet plastic, it can be used to create an emergency shelter or put under/over your sleeping bag to keep you and your sleeping bag dry during rain and it will help keep your warm in cold/snow. 5. utility knives,they come in a 3 pack and not only can you use it to cut stuff in a hurry you can use it to make Tinder for starting a fire.6. rubbing alcohol, not only can it be used for medical uses you can also use it to santize your hands and in a pinch can be used to purify water, although not as effective as bleach to purify water if SHTF a bottle of rubbing alcohol is easier to put in your B.O.B. than a gallon of bleach. 6. the small expandable/magic watchcloths, they are very small and come in a pack of 4 and once they hit the water they become a fullsize washcloth, yes they are "for kids" but when an emergency/SHTF I'm not gonna care if I'm taking a shower with a washcloth with Cookie Monster or Olaf on it. 7. Plastic silverware, Idk if you have priced them elsewhere but they are EXPENSIVE now, getting a box for a buck 25 just makes dollar sense. 8. shelf stable food. Things like rice, dry beans and shelf stable milk, when you lose power your still going to have to cook and with refrigiration most shelf stable foods only makes sense because most of them don't need to be refrigirated. 9. small bottles of juice, they have the 16 ounce bottles in a 4 pack for a dollar 25, maybe it's not Sunny D or Ocean spray but off brands are better than nothing. 10. bags of trail mix/granola bars, it's a quick pick me up and gut filler for little money. I have more but for now that's a good start.

Mini sewing kits 9. plastic containers with lids, use them to protect valueables to keep from getting wet. 10. Gift tissue, that can be shredded or torn into pieces and used to start fires
@@adrieneanders0n998 I live in Texas now but lived in Florida for several years and survived several hurricanes and although I THOUGHT I was ready for my first one but I was only about half ready to be honest. I had Water, Food and all the essentials to survive but I learned alot about how to survive more comfortable.
Small red reflectors are a must for me when doing trail walks at times when nighttime might set in on the trails 👣. I place them every so often to mark my trailpath back. A small flashlight will illuminate them easily as you walk back to your original starting point. Simply pick them up as you pass them on your return back. If it rains 🌧 no problem. If its going to snow ❄ place them higher on a tree at eye level. It's a great 👍 trick for Hunters... even if you use a Get Me Home GPS and your power change runs low.
I'm semi-retired and picked up part time work at both DG and FD/DT. 'Not very mentally stimulating so my co-worker and I would joke around about Zombie Apocalypse scenarios, etc. Dollar stores have almost everything for basic preps. They have basic tools, duct tape, small battery radios, tons of bottled drinks and butcher knives. One overlooked item is vitamins.
FYI - vitamins are only good if they are absorbed in your body, not just flushed through the body intact. Check vitamins by putting in water and see how much they dissolve. Cheap vitamins are a waste of money.

You can put them in a lunch bag with cellophane because in case the power goes out it’ll protect the batteries from being completely drained if there is an EMP it a DIY faraday cage
The little compressed character wash cloths are great for emergency bags. I also keep a container of them in the closet. Keep sunscreen in vehicles and emergency bags.
I count 16 items hear, and I counted it more than once. But here's the list: Lighters, candles, adhesive bandages, batteries, medicine, water, Vaseline, zip ties, zip lock bags, cleaning supplies, baby wipes, candy, bleach, glow sticks, socks, dental care products.
While at dollar tree grab mouth wash and dental floss ... if you can't afford to use water to brush teeth floss and rinse with mouth wash ... also don't pass up on buying a box or 2 of the good zip lock bags they come in handy

Walmart sells a 7 - pack of Scripto Lighters similar to Bics for $2.37 cheaper than Dollar Tree, also Walmart sells 2 long Grill Lighters in the Grill section of the store, 2 for $1.79 Also Long matches & 10 packs of short matches, which is 32 per box or 320 total & 300 in the long boxes for 97 cents, all 3 are prices Dollar tree & other stores can't match.

I’ve also been stocking up on shelf stable milk that dollar tree sells. They have whole,2%,1%,and skim milk. They also have oat milk and sweetened and unsweetened almond milk.
I hadn't been a shopper at the dollar stores either but a few years ago I checked them out and found a way to increase my supply of rice, pasta, and spices, without going broke. I hope that you have a great experience.

A few more tips: 1. You can reuse dental picks if you want to extend your supplies. 2. You don’t need toothpaste to clean your teeth (confirmed by Bentist on RU-vid). People (especially Busch tribes in Africa) have been using fibrous twigs from trees to clean their teeth. So if you get desperate and run out, still brush your teeth with the brush. 2. Used containers and cans can be used to store, organize and even used as barter items. 3. Always think conserving and extending your supplies rather than consuming them. Example: use minimal amount of toothpaste on tooth brush (just a dot). And if running low on tooth paste, cut open the tube to get the most out of the product. 4. Water, water and more water should be the most important prep/supply. You can’t go a long time without it. Learn how to store it, filter/clean it and gather it if you run out.
Save your used baby wipes and bleach wipes after washing up. THEY MAKE EXCELLENT ADDITIONAL FIRE STARTERS 🔥 😍 👌. Keep them separate in a labeled zip lock bag. It's amazing how many of these can add up quickly, so t his added use also adds up saving your real Fire Starters 🔥 for more intense uses...damp woods, etc.
Get yourself a rain barrel or two, one good rain barrel, gets 50 gallon of water, also you can install a well, especially here in Florida, you can install a sand point well pipe, that has filtration, and reach good water at 20 -25 feet, put the hand crank pump on the top of the pipe, not that costly either, you will have endless water.
If you are pumping up your pantry, get preserves/jam at the $Tree. They are just fruit, sugar and pectin, like the expensive jams. No high fructose corn syrup or chemical additives.

Spend the extra money and buy something with long shelf life like lithium batteries instead of regular alkaline. Cheap alkaline batteries, if left in your devices, can leak and destroy them.
I believe in distilled water. It doesn't get bad. I also have to think of animals too. I'm going to also keep more kitty litter, it's great for traction in winter too.🎩🤔👍
Vicks VapoRub to apply to feet to alleviate symptoms of a number of ailments. Cover feet with socks after applying the Vicks and leave them on overnight.

These plastic bottles are rated. It is a number in a triangle. Edit: googl says nbr 2,4,and 5 would be safe for storing. Number 1 is only for single use.
At my local dollar tree there is a low income apartment complex near it, and it is totally denuded of most of the things that I would normally buy for prepping. The store cannot keep up inventory with most of the stuff listed here. And I have not been able to find regular unscented bleach there for at least a year now. 12:43

Most $tree stores in Middle Tennessee do not have what is shown. Many are just dump sites from overflow of the pretty/perfect aisles location. Ours in agricultural USA is a dump site...see something you need...buy as much as you can...cause next week or next visit it will not be there. Our store is a junker like the local Family Dollar. Drive to the next county and $Tree builds a perfect commercial store... In our 25 mile hwy there are 6 Dollar Generals, 1 Dollar Tree, 1 Family Dollar...thats just weird...
