I thought it was an irony. OMG! I found a baby tabby on the street who was separated from her mother and siblings and whose voice was hoarse from screaming all night, and I adopted her. And I think she was a gift to me. I'm in love with her. This video is mean.
Omg same!! Except for this baby tabby was meowing infront of my home when he was hardly a month old. He goes out whenever he wants to and come in whenever he wants to. As I type this he's sleeping in my lap, and truly a blessing I never expected>
I have been a mom to many tabbies they are delightful. Keep a diet if you have to. territory just spay or neuter. My tabbies got along with everyone. They adjusted well and shed no more than any other cat. Scratching is normal. hunting keep inside. Always good to have a clean litter box Spend time with your cat just as you would with a child. Tabbies are healthy
I must say that after watching this video, i should probably buy a lottery ticket because, apparently, I hit the jackpot with my year and half old tabby. First time cat owner, adopted him at around 6 months, ZERO furniture issues, best companion I could have ever asked for. No litter box issues. Even though he's a bit picky with food, he doesn't overeat. He's so smart and playful, I'm constantly trying to stay one step ahead of him, and this may be the biggest issue since my job doesn't have a fixed schedule. I honestly feel that this video is more of a "I-want-a -cat-period" type of owner problem, rather than tabby cat issue.
This video is utterly rediculous. Don't take notice of this. I've had quite a few Tabbies and they have been a joy to own. Like humans, we all have quirks and faults. You should love cats what ever.
I have 2 gorgeous orange tabby’s, a brother and sister. They are the most most loving, intelligent and well behaved cats I’ve ever owned. Many of the negative characteristics attributed to tabby’s are also very common to other breeds.
I have been a cat owner for 40 years. I currently have a tabby and the rest were non tabby's (8 cats in total) and what you just described is ALL cats!! The only thing I have noticed a tabby over other cats is the prone to obesity. All in all, I find this vid was click bait and does a disservice to tabby's!
My 2 and a half year old Mackerel Tabby Gadget is an angel! I feel blessed he’s not rude or mean to anyone! He is so sweet and my nine year old with cystic fibrosis is smitten with him. It’s his favorite friend and they look like Calvin and Hobbes when together. This video alarmed me when I clicked then I started laughing because this cat is awesome! He’s my best friend and always gets my love, he’s FIV positive and does not get sick🙏🏽😭🙌🏽🥹🥹❤️team tabby for life! He rolls on his back at my feet, paws gently at my face when I hold him like a baby and rubs me affectionately puts me to tears! He heals my sadness and is perfect for our little family of three, my son Gadget and I 🥹🫶🏽
I hear you. My Sweet Tabby girl Nellie is a mackerel tabby. She lives every one she meets. And we live in an assisted living. I've had four tabbies and they were the most friendly cats I've had. None were overweight. And none have any of these bad behaviors. What a awful video.
@@sherrie6492 Aww that's so sweet! You're earth angel and the best companion ever. They truly are the most loving cats I've ever had. My ex bf had a tabby which is when I fell in love with them. This really is a terrible video:(
I had two tabbies and a black and white never had any problems and they all lived to nineteen years old. and they loved each other very affectionate very loving ❤❤❤
I can only assume this video was commissioned by one of those toxic cat hating dog people. Not to say all dog people are like that, hello to all the dog owners out there. That and/or, this is just shameless click bate. My dearly departed cat was a brown tabby, and he was the friendliest most east going cat you ever met.
This video is pretty inaccurate. I’ve been around tabby cats all my life and no they aren’t territorial, and they aren’t super vocal unless you raise them that way, some don’t even have seperation anxiety. I guess this was a clickbait video as most of the stuff in this video is pretty inaccurate, yes tabby cats can get obese but will stop eating once full, they are one of the most playful and curious pets I’ve ever owned and the kittens fur is so soft but they are easily cold which is why they hate water and not all tabby cats hate other cats. Mine loves my other cat which is part tabby cat
With my family that we adopted 2 red tabby cats. One in mid July 1979 and the other mid November 1981. They did both shed a lot. They both became friends to each other. One was very healthy on his weight. The other cat was a little bit bigger and his weight was 20 pounds for a long time. The 1st cat lived a long life. My parents had him almost 18 years. The other cat just a little bit over 12 years. The 2nd cat was more than my cat than the other cat. They were both sweet and friendly cats in different ways. I do missed them both. The 1st cat had gotten sweeter in his old age. The 2nd cat was very sweet and friendly. I don’t mind if one purrs loudly because it was a sign that a cat loves that person.
Yeeeeeah, no? These are all normal feline behaviors and traits. I mean, why would you even add Litter Box to this list-- that's a fact with *all* cats. I've had plenty of cats and Tabbies are great, my most beloved kitty was a Tabby.
I don't either, my Maggie is a wonderful girl & livened very much & she lives me, my cat is a indoor cat & never ever goes outside because we live in a building & live on the 6th floor, but she stays inside & she even sleeps with me on my bed, so what ever you say is not what my Maggie does we love each other very much & also you can't tell people not adopt a Tabby or any cat for that matter🐈🐈🐈🐈🥰🥰🥰🥰💕💕💕💕
Tabby cats are truly wonderfull cats. I had a great smart beloved cat Kaka, tabby mackerel. Big green eyes, sweet baby-like voice. Fantastic cat...I've never seen anything like it. Never make your tabby baby upset! I used to work a lot, and he was home alone all day, sometimes even at night (food, milk, water, a clean toilet, I left everything he needed before I left), he wanted my attention, I mean, he was the kind of cat that doesn't sleep well if you're not around and can't eat properly without your watch, he needed cuddles and slept on my chest every time (he could feel the heartbeat and it was interesting and relaxing for him, also, my breathing movements were like a cradle for him - 1 minute and he was in deep sleep) I quit my stupid job and was happy, finally I was home, free and could stay with my cat. But a few months later I lost my cat forever.
I hate that you made this video. I just adopted two Tabby cats and came upon the title of this video and my heart dropped. It made me second guess my adoption until I read everyone’s comments here. Why the heck would you make such a negative video about such loving cats?! Frickin’ click bait a-holes.
I just looked at the rest of your videos and there are several just like this one telling people not to adopt certain breeds. That’s really messed up that you make these harmful videos for views. And yes they’re harmful because they may prevent some cats from getting adopted!!! Shame on you.
Misleading title as most of the info isn't tabby specific and was even admitted in the text. My advice: learn a bit about cat behaviour and care before you decide to get one of any kind. They all have their own personalities and will need care, attention and an adequate environment.
🐱 FUNNY! I’m a volunteer at a veterinarian. Here’s a few tips for longer life: Cut back on dry cat food. it can cause urinary blockage, and kidney disease, over time, especially for male cats. Upgrade your cat food quality. Purina One canned and dry, is a good brand. Most cat food brands are low quality, thats why you pay less. 🐈 Coyote attacks on Outdoor cats and traffic fatalities are on the rise, so keep your cat Indoors. 🐾 If you have a senior cat, bring it in for a full senior blood panel. it’s a quick, easy way to assess its basic all around health, while its still early. Our cats can live healthier & longer. 🐱 ‘INDOOR’ CAT FOODS ARE LOWER IN CALORIES
My Tiny Tabby is a feral, young adult cat, not a runt or anything, just unusually small. She has no interest at all in playing. Playing with anything, cat toys, string toys, balls, squeaky toys, other cats, or even fingers. Basically, as soon as she figures out she can't eat it, she looses interest and walks away. For the first 3 years she lived with me she also didn't meow. In fact, aside from her only barely audible purr, the ONLY sound she'd make is a kind of grunt. Whenever she'd jump up on something, like a bed, a table, or a chair, she'd let out a kind of grunt that sounded like "Merf!". Which is why I named her Murphy. She doesn't like being picked up (regardless of how you support her), or even held, but she is however a serious cuddle bug. If I'm taking a nap, she curls up behind my knees, or against my tummy. If I'm reading a book on my back, she pushes my elbow away from my side, then snuggles up with her front paws under my armpit, and her chin resting on my shoulder. If I'm on the computer, on the kamode, or just sitting watching TV, she's asleep on my lap. She, and my other two cats, have their own "cat rules" that I'm expected to follow. Like... touching someone while they're making biscuits (kneading) is just RUDE! Also, no matter what you're doing, if your about to do something different, then you have to let everyone in the room know that, so that it doesn't cause mass panic. And the way you let everyone know you're about to do something different, is to stretch first, THEN go do it. That way everyone in the room knows that there's nothing to panic over, and goes back to whatever they were doing. But oh-ho man if you don't stretch first, if you're sitting, and suddenly just stand up without warning, then suddenly everyone's up, wide awake, and ready to bolt. Until they realize it's a false alarm, the big hairless kid just forgot to stretch - AGAIN. There are lots of other rules, but, since this video was mostly a waste of time I thought I'd ask if anyone else has any "cat rules" they've learned to follow. Anybody?
I 2 Tabby cats and every sweet lovable Karen Katz and what you got to say is irrelevant in a lie about not getting at a because they're the best cats in the world
BS I have rescued 4 adult tabbies and 8 tabby kittens and loved every moment. If you want a tabby and want a friend who you will enjoy, adopt a tabby. They are smart, cuddly, fun and social. This channel makes it sound as if you are adopting a monster. Ha ha. tabby = love
i have had and have known many tabbies in my 7+ decades of life. got two of them right now. and never have i known one whose purr was so loud that the neighbors were disturbed by it. who put this video together? poop stinks. the cats will do it and cover it so you don't have to deal with it for longer than it takes for the smell to dissipate, which should only be a minute or so. but if you are too lazy - or, maybe, stupid - to scoop, you get what you deserve. AND, the cat will punish you for it. almost nothing in this video makes sense.
Hi, so cute! 🐈 as a veterinary volunteer, can I give you a few suggestions? cat food is often poor quality, as there are no regulations on it. I suggest Purina One, Purina pro plan, or Hills science diet. Also, cut back on dry food for cats, especially males. Over time it can cause urinary blockage and kidney issues. Also, keep your cat Indoors only. There’s been a spike of predator attacks on cats, and traffic hit and runs
Well I've had both and even at the same time along with other " weird" pets like birds, all types of rodents, and omg even a Himalayan rabbit. Sarcasm if that isn't coming through clear enough for you.
Seems to me that this is a guide on how to take care of your cat. With all due respect I think your title is misleading. Don't understand what you have against tabby cats. A little toxic I might add.
Mean and senseless video. No one should be telling us not to get a particular kind of cat. And Tabby is coat pattern, not a breed. My tabby cat Jinjer says about this video: "Get Bent."
I don’t have a tabby, so I don’t have a bias in this discussion, but based on her evidence, “never adopt a tabby” is ridiculous. Every issue mentioned is either manageable (weight gain, being clingy) or applies to all cats (scratching, litter box issues, needing stimulation, lifespan). I can’t imagine what cat (or dog or horse or …) WON’T involve lifestyle limitations! Even if you have goldfish, you have to arrange to have them fed if you go out of town. I wonder what pet she’s thinking of that humans won’t outlive? Giant tortoises, maybe? Few common pets generally have a longer lifespan than humans.
Ok well this is just animal life. Think of them as little toddlers u have to take care of, they are cute and kind then they act like they own the place. But I have a ginger tabby and he is not messy and he’s actually and outdoor cat so I have different signals to call him or something. He is not annoying he is an adult
I’ve owed mostly tabby cats since a small child there’s not a problem, I find that they are more intelligent than most cats. I own two of them now and wouldn’t want any others. I think you just don’t like them.
i may tal you something... we ave 2 tabbys... sister and a brother.... they are so much into us u canon not believe it. this female tonka is so into us, so indoor cat but branko wants to explore. but in the end they just cuddle with us so much, more that we have had a dog haha.... i have been working from form home and these 2 cats ave been cuddling with me so much that i almost was fireded hahaa
On behalf of the tabby cats being left in shelters thanks to your misinformation, consider using your time and resources for good instead of evil when creating future videos.
What a negativity And I am sorry to say, some bullsh*t too. I had/ have 6 cats, 3 black ones and 3 tabby cats. - my tabby cats do not have much temperament, not even outdoors. Only a born here black cat really had a temperament. The rest got along, even though they came to me in different years. What about that? - getting fat? Hardly, yes they weight a little bit more than my black cats, but never were overweight. - no negative territorial behaviour from my tabby cats. Only the (here born) black cat had them. - My first cat (tabby too) moved in 3 years about 5 times with me, he never cared about the house he was living in, within 2 days after moving to another house he could go outside without any problems. He never did a runner. Etcetera.
Most cats are tabbies. So what's all this nonsense? Maybe you should have titled your video differently, like "things you should be aware about tabby cats", or something to that effect. Algo, what's up with the audio, with the constant clicks?
Disliked video and won't finish watching. This is a video of lies. Tabby is NOT a breed of cat. I've had MANY cats during my 58 years on Earth, and the only actual cat BREED that seems to have some characteristics somewhat unique to it ~ or, rather, it is more likely to have a couple of specific characteristics than other Breeds ~ is the Siamese Cat, and those character traits are GOOD ones. Why would you people attempt to give ANY cat a bad reputation, no matter it's coat color or pattern. I'm pretty sure you all just don't like cats in general. I will instruct RU-vid to STOP recommending your videos if another pops up in my feed.
We got a 8 month old siamese kitten and like a typical siamese, we've had a few over the years, she's vocal, mouthy and will argue with you, loves to climb and sit in high places. And she is sweet, obnoxious, demanding, friendly, aloof, social and controlling. Just like any other breed of cat. She does have the chocolate lab completely under her control tho and they are plotting something. We just don't know what. I'm sure it will involve explosives and get the FBI involved. Again.
This is bogus and is not a comprehensive analysis. Most of the points made apply to all cats. I've had tabby cats all my life and every one of them were sweet and affectionate cats.
This video is absolute rubbish. I have a beautiful little grey tabby cat who is a strictly indoors cat. I have had him since he was a kitten. He is absolutely beautiful, friendly and affectionate.
A tabby cat is a particular pattern on the cat's coat. It has nothing to do with breed. This video is crap! All of the so-called "reasons" to not get a tabby cat are behaviors and issues associated with most cats.( ie shedding, weight issues, independence scratching). So is scratching an issue that one only finds in cats with the tabby pattern? Are they the only cats who scratch furniture? Perhaps excessive shedding is only an issue with tabby cats while solid colored cats in never shed, scratch etc etc. Junk science, folks
This video is beyond misleading. It gives purist authentic pure blood belief and slant if anything else.....I will always believe in any mud blood tabby than any other cat......even Crookshanks, Grumpy Cat, Felix the Cat, Garfield, Tom, Cheshire, Hello kitty, Sylvester, Lil Bub, and Puss in Boots!!!
This whole video is full of lies. I own 3 black cats, 2 black and white cats and several tabby cats and they are all wonderful and we love each other dearly. I am going to report this channel and also give it a thumbs down for lies!
