A few things... the '47 Chevy pickups weren't actually named the 3100 until 1949. The earlier models said 'Chevrolet Thriftmaster' on the hood side emblems. Early 1947, they still retained the 1946 style body, and late 1947, they went with the new design with the headlights inside the fenders, and the wider cab. Also, '47 only had the gas tank UNDER the bed, instead of behind the seat. All the 1/2 and 3/4 T. pickups came with the babbit bearing 216 cu. in. L6 and had 90 hp. stock. The 1 1/2 T. trucks had a 235 cu. in. L6 that still only had 90 hp. stock. The 235 L6 wasn't officially used in the 1/2 and 3/4 T. trucks until 1954 and the horsepower was upped to 112 hp. I restored a late 1947 3/4 T. pickup back in the 1980's, and it had a rare special order 'granny gear' 4 speed top loader from the factory. The old 216 was pretty anemic for highway driving, and I eventually converted it to a '79 250 6 cyl. with the integrated head and around 140 hp. Coupled to an overdrive 5 speed out of a military 6x6, it would pull most anything I hooked it to, and I ran it for the next 22 years+ with that engine mated with a 4.55 dual-wheel rear axle.😉

I would rather drive any one of these "goofy trucks ". Than even sit in that cyber truck.
