I do not see it as a waste of time but everyone sees different on this but I spend alot of time doing research and planning. I do however take action and do what I set out to do though and not just sit around thinking.
My personal take on this topic: Not investing in real estate, mutual funds, like fe insurance and stock market. In these investments, time is money. The earlier you invest, the greater the reward in 10 or more years.
I have notes around my apartment that say “Do one thing.” (The idea comes from Guru Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati. Book on meditation by her. First breath last breath. Book on self improvement by her, Eleven karmic spaces. I highly recommend both.)

The Big Picture Exactly. Alot of ppl complain that they cant lock their phones while “watching youtube.” Well worth it if you treat channels, like Alux, like podcasts on daily commutes.
13. If you're capable of cheating once, what's stopping you to do it again... So true... That's why i don't believe people can change... P.S. thanx for the bonus Alux...
I waste a lot of time procrastinating and honestly what helps me is to force my self to jump into what ever needs to be done. Usually once you get started you get into a groove and if not spending 10 minutes on something you need to do is better than spending 0
Being around abusive and toxic people is a big time- waster because it can take years of your time to rebuild your sense of self-worth and your self-esteem. Aluxers keep positive uplifting and non toxic people in your life.
I waste my time overthinking and worrying, you guys should make a video on overthinking and worrying. I love your videos always motivates and inspires me to be better and do better
Whenever I Hear this voice I'm feeling extremely Happy.... I guess you got more than 3million Subscribers not for the Content you post but , for your voice😍❤️
Complaining. No one gets what they want by whining. ... Commuting during rush hour. Time-shift your drive for less traffic. Gossiping. It never gets the work done. Doing other people's work. Do your work first. Watching TV. ... Hanging out with negative people. ... Procrastinating. ... Indecision.
I wanted to pick up the habit for reading for an hour a day so this is what helped me and I hope it will help someone here. 1. Leave the house and find a designated spot for reading (barnes and nobles) 2.Leave my phone inside my car 3. bring my noise canceling headphones (white noise) has worked every-time.
Thank you, my procrastination has gripped my inner seed that needs to sprout. I will take this with me for i know what i need to know but action must override my indecision
Ohhh I love number 13 , about relationships, they truly waste time yoo, I always wonder how those people who have multiple partners cope , another point which I can add in something that waste time is gossiping with friends , do u know how much time we spend with friends, doing nothing, talking nothing with sense but just gossiping all the way.😱
the most valuable of all: WHATEVER YOU'RE NOT CHANGING (or to put it more proactively, WORKING on changing, because true worthwhile changes happen with time an effort) YOU ARE CHOOSING!
Alux you are actually my confidence booster. Earlier I was addicted to Netflix and Prime but now I am addicted to your channel and my work. When I am free I listen to your podcast on Spotify and it motivates me very much. Thanks for creating such a great content.
1- being dismally disorganized 2- reading crappy books 3- reading the news 4- scrolling through anything and everything 5- multitasking 6- Netflix 7- constantly checking email 8- thinking about exercising 9- trying to change someone 10- over indulging in food and alcohol 11- being a perfectionist 12- mindless mall browsing 13- having an affair 14- complaining all the time 15- worrying about o other people think of you 16- Leonardo da Vinci was known for procrastinating (?)
I find wasting my time on friends that don't care about you but you care about them. It's time wasting. I also find wasting my time in overthinking and not overdoing what I think. Thank you
*Netflix if used properly is a wonderful educational tool,* I use/used it 99% for working on my listening b comprehension skills in Spanish & mandarin, and used to use it for the same purpose when i was fluent un French and Portuguese
Growing up, and even now, I found that I waste time being a perfectionist and I constantly worry about what others think of me. After watching this video, I am going to find a way to get out of this vicious cycle.
I spend a lot of time talking to myself. It's empowering, it lets me connect with myself, as a person in love with solitude, and it gives me direction. My thoughts are powerful when I hear them and more impactful too. Unfortunatley, I could spend 30 sweet minutes going on-- which is definitely precious time gone.
I save time on Alux vids by either finding where someone wrote the list out or skipping to the next point in the video after I hear the previous point. And then skipping to the bonus, of course. Today I saved about 11 minutes.
The name ‘Binod’, which has now become the talk of the town, originated from a RU-vid channel ‘Slayy Point’, where creators Abhyudaya and Gautami decided to make a video on the comments made under various videos that have no real meaning whatsoever.
A big waste of time is worrying. Things to help to not worry is meditate, focus on the positive, get the hardest part of your day over with, being thankful for what you have, exercising, and surround yourself with good company. Also having fur babies helps a lot too 💝
I write down my workout for the next day and take a picture of it so I don't have to think about it for the day. I hope this tip might help others that think about exercising
Yes. Thank you Alux for all of your nice valuable videos. I would like to add one more to list. "Not finishing first project/work and starting new project/work is waste of time."
Overthinking and overanalyzing are two major time wasters too. Every time you finally do it you find yourself regretting why you didn't do it earlier. I am terribly guilty of these and I hope this acts as a wake up call to you and me if you're doing it. Just go and do that thing you want to do!
Keep your phone 50% charged at least. I hate people trying to charge their phone in a meeting or complaining about it (its a waste of time for everybody). You can easly charge your phone at night or while driving your car.
Well 1 and 4. For the first topic I'd recomend to start cleaning your space and set your priorities in life. For the second one, stablish times to get in social Media and remember you could make your life much more interest than see
I’ve been wasting my time on ps4 and video games tbh but that was 5 months ago i stopped playing on it !! It was actually easier than i thought i was asking myself before touching the controller “ is that how u wanna spends your day ? u know u won’t be able to stop tell the next morning right ? Go and do something fun but productive u always wanted to do !! “ and i always wanted to learn how to play on guitar 😊 ( my advice to people who can’t quit there’s actually something u can change on the ps4 settings that u can put a timer for 4 , 3 or how many hour u wanna spent on it !! And after that the ps4 will close it self and u won’t be able to run it till the next day )
There is five of their sleep schedules other than the one you're taught when you attend indoctrination camp! Yea... five other schedules you don't have to adhere to the sleeping 8 hours a day bullshit that everybody is taught in America!
Now a GOOD way to spend time is to grow a garden. You reduce your food bill, eat healthier food, and it's been scientifically proven to be great for your mental health. It doesn't have to be a big garden, of course. It can just be containers or grow bags on your porch/balcony. But it's worth it! Especially since it's important to get out in the sun in the morning to keep your circadian rhythm on track, and having a garden is a great excuse to do just that. I highly, highly recommend it!
My biggest has been thinking too much about the small stuff like how much I can save using a credit card over debit card or how much I will save during this particular Amazon sale over the next or some such insignificant thing. What I failed to realize was that I could be using that time to make money by upskilling myself. I was trying to save pennies by wasting hours of precious time. Not only does it waste time but it drains my mind-space and concentration.
I don’t waste a lot of time, but learning how to prioritize my tasks based on my focus levels throughout the day was a productivity game changer for me.
i can relate to 15. the moment i stop thinking what others people think about me i start more focuses on myself the most imported is what you think about yourself
Tip: never court anyone online. It's a waste of time. Even if you get a date, since nothing personal was developed, it doesn't last. It's best to be the best version of yourself, that'll attract almost any girl easier. But attract holy, kind women by being holy and kind yourself on top of financial maturity and emotional maturity.
For me, wishful thinking and day dreaming top the list. I can stop the time wasters that are external to me but how do I deal with those that reside within me? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you :)
I would say overthinking. That is definitely my time waster. It can lead to unnecessary stress. And if you can't do anything about it right now, then you shouldn't worry about it at the moment.
I definitely agree with wasting time reading crappy books. DNF (DO NOT FINISH) is your best friend. I don't know how people struggle through books they hate.
Moral of the story, if you are not using social media to your advantage like promoting your buisnise, learning a new skill... Then you are wasting your time.
In my opinion just switch off your electronics unless you work on it Also try using a device where you do only work stuff and nothing else this helps your brain to know what you wanna do rather than shifting focus from your task
Nice piece on time wasting but boredom is equally stressful and could escalate incipient depression. Meanwhile, we dont need a whole day to be productive ,on the flip side networking needs time too.
When I had a damaged-lesser brain, I cranked out book after book. They weren't great. I didn't have a lot of time. I wish I could edit the last one I wrote. I wrote for five hours a day nonstop. 10,000 words a day for five days. Now I can barely do anything. I've gotten defiant.
Alox missed the nail head. People thinking about exercising is more likely to exercise than those not thinking about exercising at all. So see yourself exercising in your mind. Picture yourself exercising. It's almost like exercising but just in your brain and will most likely motivate you to go to the gym for a workout. A study was done to prove this point.
That #9 & #10 hit hard, im done tryna convince these people to make the necessary changes in there lives, or am i still convincing myself? And tha alcohol drinking, starting to seem like its bringing people down instead up lifting them up, thats why i walked away 1yr 6 mos ago! Keep me motivated Alux, i neeed to be hearing these jewels, that you guys be dropping....-Trusno
Note for self Don't waste time on ; Being dismally organised Reading news Scrolling thru everything n anything Thinking abt exercising Trying to change smone Overindulging in food Being a perfectionist Mindless Mall browsing ( even online ) Complaining Thinking what others think of me
The word procrastination has a bad rap and negative connotation...when, what i realize is procrastination is actually a good thing. When i procrastinate some task at work it's usually because i don't know where to start or i believe it's rough and will be like pulling teeth. What i always find...is during the procrastination period my mind is actually working and thinking about how to approach and solve the difficult task easily and painlessly. Then it hits me...and i grab up what i thought would be a grueling 6 to 8 hour task and complete it in 1 hour...quick and effortlessly. All because i procrastinated until i found a better method of solving the task. I've done what i thought would be 2 days tasks in 3 or 4 hours....it if feels great. Procrastination is a tool....and best used before the deadline....So i always procrastinate the difficult tasks as soon as the task reaches my desk....and work immediately the easy tasks that require no procrastination.
Gaming goes together with Netflixing. I used to be a gamer, and I have a pretty good idea of how much time I wasted, because I played Nintendo (Wii U & 3DS). Both systems tracked how much time you spent, not only on every game, but also other apps like web browsers. Lets just say that there were two games that I spent over 1000 hours on EACH, and that was just the top two. And remember I said OVER 1000 hours, because I don't remember the exact figure. So, I spent over a month, probably 1.5 months, on each game, plus the many other games with 100s of hours clocked. And then I didn't stop there, I also watched anime, read manga, and read novels. I don't want to know how many years of my life I wasted on those things, but it adds up, and it adds up fast. Life is too short to spend feeding your brain garbage. And I would say, just say NO to Netflix and all of that. There are better ways to spend your resting time that don't involve feeding your brain trash. All fiction is trash, by the way. It warps your perception of the real world, no matter how many times you tell yourself that you know it's not real. Your subconscious does NOT know the difference between watching an actor shoot another actor and a real person murdering a real person. Just stop feeding your brain junk food and replace it with something with real nourishment-completely-and I guarantee your brain will be better off.
The mall is a good place to get walking exercise. Edmonton Alberta has the biggest mall in the world. We have snow in the ground for 7 months a year, so people aren't walking around outside.
to be honest, I waste my on being a perfectionist because I want to do a project but I am still trying to perfect it in my mind. so yes I believe that is how I am wasting time.
Multi-tasking is only wasteful. When the activities you are doing don't have a lot of similar processes. Or have a set it forget feature. You should do stuff Like putting clothes to wash in washer and let washer wash clothes while you do dishes and then mop floor. By time clothes finish washing the dishes and floor should be clean too. :)
I find myself wasting my time and energy eating unhealthy food and after that triyng to be on the track again. It is a lack of discipline that costs a lot of time and money for me.
2 - you cant tell until you read it. But even crappy books can be usefull on something. 6 - No netflix, no Tv, so what do we do when we just want to consume entertainment?
Staying in a toxic Job, just to have a job, that is low paid and has zero benefits. Weekend work, constantly working extra hours... Adding to that, you get a complain from your manager "Thank God that you are working and getting paid". Seriously??!!!
@Jay Anthony why should I do them is series since I can do them at the same time? I know that many people can't do multiple things at the same time but since at least one can, multitasking exists.
