I’m sure too, but the falcon was different from the Mustang, as the Falcon is a different model and had (I’m guessing) different handling and engine options. You might be correct, but this is just how I view it.
The narrator was right. The Ford falcon did become the best selling car here in Australia.....eventually. I t was first introduced here in 1960, locally assembled to take on the Holden (GM) and quickly followed by Chrysler Australia in 1962 with local assembly of the Valiant (Plymouth). The Falcon (and Valiant) went through the sixties with variations of their US design heritages using locally developed trim and body designs. 1971 saw the introduction of a new locally designed Holden, the HQ. It was also the year that Chrysler bought out a new Valiant that was locally designed. 1972 saw the XA Falcon arrive, totally new and locally designed. Ford had been making serious inroads to the Generals market leadership and the XA, XB of 1974 and XC of 1976 nearly got them there. 1982 with the XE they did it though. They did it again in the 90's, but never again. The Falcon remained in the top sellers list and was a firm favourite with fleet buyers and taxi operators but with the flood of cheap new car imports and the swing to SUV's the writing was on the wall for cars like that. The Falcon started slipping alarmingly in the sales figures. Bad news because there were no export sales to rely on and the investment dollars to bring what was a very good car to market were not being recouped obviously. Something had to give.....and it did. Detroit pulled the plug. In 2013 Ford Australia ceased production of cars in Australia and now only imports. Holden (GM) wound up last year and only imports now along with Toyota who wound up local production around the same time. Mitsubishi ( who bought Chrysler Australia's assemby plant and engine foundry in 1981) stopped local production in 2008. Chrysler and Mitsubishi are only importers now too. The Falcon lives on though, in the hearts and memories of all of us Aussies who either grew up with them as kids, owned and drove them or watch them racing at Bathurst.
Ovliex Fan The XK Falcon has the same unibody chassis as the first gen Ford Mustang. They shared the same backbone. So technically it kinda is a Falcon, it’s just beefed up with a v8.
I feel the exac t same way except - we have also owned their cars - no problems there either (unlike neighbors and friends who have had numerous problems with their Toyotas!) NO THANKS on any Japanese made and owned vehicles. America all the way for us.

I’ve never had problems with F series either..hear a lot of people knocking ford but they have given me great service. There’s good in all manufacturers..maintenance is the key.
Bought a new 2002 F150 4x4 supercab with 4,6 V8 and Auto trans and now has 374,500 original miles she runs excellent and all i've done is oil changes every five thousand miles trans every 25k and spark plugs 100k best truck i've ever bought all the chevy's i had were nothing but headaches fix one thing and something else would go wrong thank God i switched to Ford love them all.

I have a 2013 Taurus and will be getting a 2018 Mustang GT. I’ve had the LTD and Gran Torino and other Ford products. Every Ford car I’ve owned was of superb quality.
I am South African but there is no doubt...America is by far the best country in the world. it's not even close. The amount of products America has given the world over the years is mind blowing.

I've had a lot of cars but I have had very good luck with Fords. Currently on an '04 Explorer and it runs perfectly. Great road car as I just cruise along mile after mile, never getting road weary. I call it 'The Mile Eater'. Hour after hour and you'll never get tired.
I have not had a bad Ford yet. 40 years and counting. Have three Ford trucks ,99 expedition,78 f-250, 89 F-800 and a 65 mercury Montclair. They all are easy to maintain and repair when needed. The Expedition is a bit more complex but after 18 years of hard use I still drive it most every day. And they are all well paid for, And paying me back. Thank you. U.S.A.
Ford is the best by far. I have owned the 88 thunderbird , 90 escort Gt , ford ranger 2002 , 2005 crew cab f 150 xlt and recently just departed from my 2006 mustang Gt which I loved and now in short I will purchase one of the newer gt . Am a ford guy and will always be, they are great cars !
While I'm unsure of the legitimacy of the daunting claim overall, he clearly states: _" in more disciplines than all other manufacturers combined"_ Nascar would be *_one_* such discipline.
Chevrolet also has the most manufacturer's championships in Nascar,over 13 of them.Dale Earnhardt Sr. did drive a Ford for a couple years and then back to a Chevrolet,Won races in the Chevrolet and none in the Ford.
John Riddell Where i live, unfortunately the police went to subaru for the undercover and pursuit cars but thankfully they still have the Ford Ranger and suv's for making arrests 😆
fords puttings all their chips on crossovers and suvs in north america, they feel that's where the market is going in north america as sales of cars have been on the decline in recent years. while i agree that some ford cars like the taurus, fiesta, and c-max need to go, i think getting rid of the focus and fusion though was a bad move since both the focus and fusion still sell pretty well.
I still think they are #1 and in my book and always will be #1 the way I see it, My dad worked at Ford for 36 years before he retired and I worked there for 28 years before getting ill and unable to work or walk any more.
I own two F series pickups and both have been gems. A 2011 Harley Davidson F-150 AWD and a 2000 Lariat F-150 4x4. I had a 1979 F-150 up until last fall but sold it as it was not driven or needed anymore. I've had many others over the years and my wife and I won't buy anything else.
Ford is definitely one of the top car companies, I love them and so has everyone in my past and hopefully future generations. I’ve owned many other brands and so has everyone in my family but there truly is something about a ford that is unlike anything else!
When you look at what ford has created and pioneered over its 115 year history, it is the greatest automaker ever! They basically started it all! They put America on wheels and when you really think what came after that and because of that is mind blowing. Cars, trucks, tractors, new, old as long as it has a blue oval on it I love it! Ford forever!
I'm on my fourth Ford vehicle, a 2017 F150. I've loved all four of them, they've all been great and the last three ran well past 100K without any repairs... So I'm super sad that their sedans are going away. I was planning on getting a Focus ST or RS within the next few years :( At least I can resort to the mighty Stang!!

I bought a Chevrolet truck and from the start the truck had a transmission problem. Coming to a stop the transmission would not go into first gear. This happened to me lots of times. I brought it back to the dealer and they said “we checked the program and it’s update. We didn’t find anything wrong”. I sold the truck and bought a ford. Since then I have opened three for trucks and never had a problem.
Well, if you haven't already made one already, make a video on Lincoln now. As of recently, their vehicles are worthy of carrying the nameplate. Gone are the re-badged Ford Edges and in with the return of the iconic Continental name. And do I even need to mention the current-gen Navigator?

Ford Motor is the ONLY car company EVER to shape America into what it is today - The only fact you presented that I did not know was about the purchase of Chariot. All the other items i already knew!
lil b.g nobody understands that this is not happening as quick as you think. Ford will remove the fiesta and Taurus for 2019 or 2020. Then the focus and fusion will be swapped for other cars that are yet to be announced. Most likely alongside the Bronco. Everyone thinks that they will have no sedans and will only have like 4 models. This is anything but the case.
lil b.g well if you look at the facts, it makes sense. Sedans are, except for all German cars and the Charger, are dying in America. More people buy SUVs and crossovers than hatchbacks and sedans. The Mustang is the worlds best selling V8 sports car 3 years running, so it's obvious why that's saying
Another fun fact is the Ford Mustang horse was designed and made by sculptor and art Bill Swan (seen on his Facebook page)and this is the exact horse the emblem was copied from there imwas a Phil Clark who copied Bills horse to make the emblem but since he worked for Ford he got full credit but at least Edsel was generous enough to give Bill a Thank you card and Ford also paid him 100 for making it.
Thanks for this 15 things about Ford. I grew up on a farm in the Mosselbaai, Western Cape, Souh Africa, area where my dad was a Ford Fleet Owner. He had several tractors, lorries, bakkies as well as cars during his farming career. That's where the Blue Bug Love has bitten me and since I bought my my 1st Ford car in 1984, I've never owned any other brand. Ford has proven itself and both my dad & I supported/owned Fords during the years when the whole world turned their backs towards South Africa and Ford South Africa became SAMCOR. 2 of my vehicles were with me for 13 years. Currently I own a Ford Fiesta 1.4ltr but my vision is to own a Ford Ranger bakkie in a couple of years time.
Ford definitely top three. My dad had an all original 1986 F150 with a straight six 300. Over 900k still running strong. I myself have a 2012 Edge limited with almost 200k.
Kyle, that engine was an industrial engine, only "borrowed" off the shelf till Ford developed a brand new 6 banger for trucks. The gear to gear timing (no chain or belt) the extremely beefy crank and rods, the extra main bearing all contributed to the 300 CIDs longevity. Change the oil and filter regularly, don't try to run it a 6000 RPM all bay and NEVER let it overheat than old engine'll run forever. I drove a succession of work trucks with north of 300,000 miles and we traded them ONLY because the work we did hammered the bodies. Engines still purred like kittens.
Love Fords. They may not last very long without a lot of mechanical work, but they are cool. I now lease them and let the next buyer worry about how to keep them running after the warranty runs out.

My dad's 2004 F-150 XLT has ran perfect for 13 years, 250,000 miles in counting. Not to mension its strength. Got rear ended, tore the lady's bumper off! Definitely top 3.
All the vehicles I’ve owned have been Ford. I’ve owned 3 mustangs Ford Crown Victoria, Ford Lightning, and my current truck an F-150. All great vehicles
Every one to their own a .I like a lot of cars ,I have had a couple of Porsche's 928 Man and a 944 race car loved them both and a Audi ,Germany know how to build a good car,I just like my Fords mainly Aussie and uk :)
