Could you film an updated wardrobe tour video please? I get so much inspiration from it and would love to see which items you currently have, hear the reasons why you love and therefore keep them and how you store them in your wardrobe at the moment😊

Modern washing machines have a wool programme. I wash all my cashmere jumpers this way: on cold so between 0 and 20 degree celsius, and tumble only on 400. Use detergent for wool and silk, no softener necessary. Then lay out flat to dry. Simple, easy and perfect each time.

Right, they even have a handwashing program, I don't wash anything by hand but I still own clothing in all kinds of materials and fits, 'cause my washing mashine can do it all. I even managed to wash a costume that was supposed to be brought to a cleaning service instead of being mashine washed. I'm not a rich girl so there's no way that I pay someone to dry clean my stuff PLUS I am very sensitive to all kind of chemicals, so no thank you. My mashine did the job and the costume turned out clean and in shape - no problems. I just try to not get it dirty or sweaty so I don't need to risk throwing it in the washer toooo many times 😂

I agree but I would add that if it’s important to wash delicate things by themselves, I don’t mix other things in.

I have simplified my wardrobe as I changed from a formal to a more relaxed dressing company. I am going thru another change and am trying to be creative with what I have. Your simple suggestions are easy to follow.

Love this video and you inspire me to finally sell on a few pairs of boots that I love but just don’t fit well. I’d be cautious about selling jumpers that need hand washing though. I have a few cashmere jumpers that need handwashing. But overall I know they save me energy, time and money as they don’t smell as quickly so need less washing and they don’t bobble compared to acrylic jumpers

The more duplicates the less you have to wash... can save energy for the washin process. If you wear the same style most of the time duplicates are ok. (white blouses for business looks..)
@edennis8578
@edennis8578 7 дней назад
I agree. I have duplicates on purpose, not by accident. It also lessens my anxiety about stuff getting ruined through stains, cat claws, etc. If one gets ruined, I have another. Not every year is a good fashion year for me; some years have nothing I want, so it isn't an option to just replace. This year is another year when sweaters and regular blazers are too short for me and oversize ones look ridiculous on me.
@madelinehegedus

I think it can be helpful to have duplicates if it’s something you wear a lot or it’s part of your work uniform, or course. Everyone’s got different lifestyles. 🤍

Its best not to hang woolens on hangers, they start to sag. Best to fold and keep in drawers.

The problem with my wardrobe is I'm between sizes ( losing weight after having a baby 8 months ago), I also have special occasion dresses, clothes that depend on weather (I live in a 4 season state). Those are easily things that could go in the I haven't worn in 6 months or a year category :( What do I do in that situation?
@theeGeiisha
@theeGeiisha 8 дней назад
Same situation here :) I've adjusted that a little like this: Before a season starts I turn all hangers backwards and after the season I analyze why i haven't worn things (maybe it's for events, the weather wasn't right, the occasion didn't occur etc) so it let them sit for another year until the season comes again. Before a new I check if all items still fit and if they don't I check why they don't fit. In your circumstances with having a baby and lots of change you might need more variation of different sizes because it can be frustrating either way: missing something in the future that you love but got rid of because it didn't fit in the moment.. but also keeping things that can be frustrating when they don't fit and just sit there. Also sometimes clothes fit differently depending on your menstrual cycle so I still keep them for different weeks because i can wear them, just not every week equally 😂
@Nesterou

Keep them for a while. Let nature do its thing. Once you're back to a stable shape that's close to your goal / "natural" shape, you can consider decluttering in my opinion. But for now, find a place that's a little out of reach and check them once in a while (every season) The real question besides decluttering is "do I like it" "if I stained it, would I panick and do everything I can to save it or be kind of relieved I can get rid of it".
@edennis8578
@edennis8578 7 дней назад
Special clothes are something I don't get rid of until they're waaayyy out of style. If you have the room, keep them. This decluttering thing often goes too far; when it isn't practical, that's too far. I don't see it as a game. If I have too much in my closet, I put my good extras in bins. Anything that isn't good enough to save can go away.
@madelinehegedus
@madelinehegedus 2 дня назад
Hi Sarah! That makes sense especially after having a baby. You could definitely keep those items that don’t currently fit stored away for a while and revisit later. It’s not about being strict with decluttering, but rather finding the balance that works for you. I love the suggestions in the previous comments too 🤍

Sorry I think this video is a bit boring. All the tips are already on the internet and not really original. Makes it even more boring expanding a long story around them which doesn’t matter or apply to me.
