I remember my high school prom. Class of 2012 - pretty recent, but whatever. I literally had no friends whatsoever and I still went. l didn't have a date. I didn't have anyone to talk to when I got there. I didn't dance. I didn't take any pictures. Hell, one of the only interactions I had was using the photo booth with this guy I knew from elementary school. And y'know why I went? Simply because I knew it was probably the only time I would/will ever get to be "fancy" for an event. I liked it.

Honestly, the most important thing to remember is that you really don't have to go to prom if you don't want to. Or if you're deathly sick. And if someone tries to tell you that you absolutely have to go, then just know that they're wrong. If it doesn't make you happy, don't do it!

When she said 45 minutes for makeup I was like.. Hahah.. I use like 60 minutes just to put my eyelashes on..

You know what would be awesome? If someone asks you out, but you barely know them - because they kept their crush hidden - a series of lunch dates and getting to know each other - it releaves the pressure on the big night.

If you plan on losing weight, NEVER buy a dress before you start losing the weight. Same thing for wedding dresses. It doesn't usually go to well if you do.

I am super excited for prom and homecoming, but don't know what to do for homecoming or if it is like prom or what, you should totally do a video about homecoming or cool nail, hair, or dress ideas for events like that! Also, you are amazing and such a life saver! Thx!!

If money allow, do your hair twice, check few salons, check their albums, they usually take pictures of special event hairstyles they actually can do, make appointment and see if you like it! Yes it will cost you twice but you know for sure your hair will not be ruined on a day of event!

I think I broke all these rules, strapless dress with updo, didn't bring flats, ditched my date before he could ditch​ me, only have three photos from the night, and the best thing I remember about the whole night is mum massaging my scalp after I took my hair down, these are all really good tips though and I wish I'd followed more of them

Everyone thinks that all girls wear makeup and wear heels

My school is having their prom at this fancy hotel, no teachers allowed and I'm pretty excited! Although I was planning on going with an old friend until he told me he was dating my best friend..... he still wanted to go with me but I basically forced him to go with his girlfriend (who apparently didn't care if he went with me) I think I made the right decision.....? He's kinda mad at me now and I've known him since I was 4 years old.

If you decide to wear a dress with a wide, full skirt, you can never go wrong by putting a petticoat or two under it. It will give your skirt body, and it will keep the chilly night air from bothering you too much. Also, dress to your body shape and wear colors that compliment your skin and personality.

All of these tips are on point! (wish it had come out before my prom though...)

Shower the day before then braid your hair and sleep with it then right before you get ready take it out and slightly brush it so it looks nice but be prepared because if you do not use hairspray your curls will come out

Am I the only one that started tearing up just at the word "nostalgia" 😭? I am a junior but I'm more than likely going to do online school for my senior year and won't be going to prom next year regardless as to what happens because my long term boyfriend will already be graduated so my junior year kinda feels like my senior year and the nostalgia has been hitting me hard. Especially since all of my friends were upperclassmen when I was a freshman so now most of my friends are graduated and I'm by myself at school so I rlly do look back on the old days alot. I am still friends w the ones that I kept rlly close after they graduated but it's just not the same. It'll never be the same again. Ya know, our parents used to tell us to stop growing up so fast and told us that we would regret wishing to grow up faster. The liberation of growing up is one thing, but once those early years of your life are over, things change and it's never the same again.
