My wife and I have been to Sandals five times over the past few years. Here are 15 tips I wish we had known before we planned our first trip. #sandalsresorts #sandals #allinclusive #tips #travel #Caribbean #jamaica
From a 9X sandals visiter, they DO NOT take away your luggage, your luggage will be in the lobby watched by the front desk and they will be glad to let you change into beach clothes, they will even offer you a place to change. Just ask.
lm loving your video you have really made a difference to our up an coming vacation to Sandals Grande Antigua, my fiancee is driving me crackers bless her so i said id come on and have a look and Im so happy i did everything you told us will come in handy as my fiancee packs for 3 and thats not including my case but she always over packs because she,s so indecisive lol but thank you for an indepth video it made such a difference, we,re be at SGA in November and we can,t wait, hopfully Barbados Royal next year or somewhere completely different like Thailand, but thank you again for some great advice.
Heading out to our second trip to RC. Loved it the first time. Love the P&Q and the R&R there. We’ve also done Sandals LaToc in St. Lucia. Loooove that one! ❤❤❤ One other tip: GO BUTLER, or go home!!! 😂😂😂 Did Butler on our first Sandals trip, wouldn’t be without it now.
We had a similar luggage waiting experience that was not very fun .......this time I'm just going to carry my small carry on bag upon arrival and keep it with me
Put on a pair of shorts and T Shirt under your cold weather clothes. Take off the outer layers when you get to the airport. Put them in your carry-on before the Sandals rep takes them to the transport
Thank you for this video. We are going to the new Saint Vincent resort in April and I’ve been watching tips and tricks videos. Most of them are made by travel agents with ties to Sandals and they don’t include the nitty gritty of the good and the bad. You had several good tips that weren’t mentioned in those other videos.
Glad it was helpful! While my wife and I love Sandals, I have no problem being critical of them when needed. I hope you have a great time in Saint Vincent!
Great video and very informative. My husband and I have been to Sandals Royal Plantation several times. We love it there because it’s so private and laid back, but when we did want to party, we just took the shuttle right next door to Sandals Ochi and had a blast. We were married Dec 31 2019 at Sandals South Coast and we have a trip planned this May at Sandals Negril. Every time we go we try to do something different. Being that we have only experienced Sandals with a butler, we’ve decided to do the club level rooms this trip, although we do plan on renting a cabana for a few days while we’re there, the butler service is a nice touch, but this trip we really don’t want to be bothered and would rather go it alone. Your video is really informative because this will also be our first time getting to the resort early in the morning, and I will make sure my husband and I have clothes in our carry-on to quickly change at Club Mobay (look it up) it’s a fast track service that allows you to get through the airport upon arrival and/or departure quickly, and they have nice lounge area while you wait for your shuttle complete with a changing area, finger foods and a full bar, which is another service that anyone who plans on vacationing to Sandals should try. Also thanks to your video we will be sure to plan ahead for dinner reservations right after we check in. Oh and the bug spray! We definitely cannot forget that! Did it last trip and my legs paid the price! 😩Thank you for sharing!
Great tips! We have been to Beaches and Sandals about 8 times. We have a trip to each booked for next year. The one thing you mentioned that I never gave any thought to was the cabana. We'll get it on future trips for sure.
@@maxirish too funny, I'm from Napavine originally. and my daughter just played WFWest a few days ago fastpitch at penny playground. It's a small world. Lol
I stayed at Montego Bay it wasn’t all that wild. They had bars and people were drinking, but it wasn’t loud and obnoxious. I had a great time. They had dress code restaurants but didn’t enforce them.
Glad you had a great time! I need to get back to MoBay at some point. It's been a few years since we visited. It's definitely an awesome and fun resort.
Great video! My fiancee wants a destination wedding and we're going Next year. Question.. Other than the shuttle to Montego Bay. What other great things can you do outside the resort?
Hi Edward! There are quite a few activities available outside of the resort. Keep in mind those activities are not part of the "all inclusive" package. Details are here: www.sandals.com/montego-bay/activities/
Thank you for these!! Question: How much do you tip the butler and people at excursions and people that help you with your bags? I just don't want to offend anyone LOL
Tip amounts vary wildly from person to person. I personally give baggage handlers $5 US. If I go on an excursion and the host does a good job I'll give them $20 US. When I rent a Cabana I'll also do $20-40 US. I see so many people that don't tip whatsoever, so honestly if you tip at all it's typically appreciated. Do what you can afford.
Hello Max! Loved the video at tips. Do you have an email that I can possibly contact you at to ask for your advice? My future wife and I are going to Sandals Regency La Toc for our honeymoon in May. Thank you in advance!
Hi! Great video thank you! Question - so, if you rent a cabana for $140/day that includes butler service - is the $140 basically the tip? What I mean is, are you expected to also tip the butler if you get a cabana?
Hi AuntieMoMo05. Great question! The $140/day only covers the rental for the cabana. If you would like to tip your butler in addition to that, it's encouraged but not required.
Definitely agree that they all have they’re individual vibe, but would never agree that MB has “a lot of dunk people”. Saying that, I do enjoy SC. It’s very laid back.
We have noticed that the number of "drunk people" certainly depends on a variety of things. If you catch a resort on a weekend where there's a large wedding group, that can increase the 'drunk factor' a bit. My point being that MB is definitely more focused on the party vibe IMO. And we love it there!
Hi Marilee. I just asked my wife to remind me of which resort that was. It was Sandals Halcyon Beach St. Lucia. It's a gorgeous resort with a TON of beautiful gardens. But yea, the fleas were pretty bad. Once we got some bug repellant, everything was fine though. You just have to be diligent about putting it on. Especially your legs.
There are three Sandals resorts in Saint Lucia. We have only visited Halcyon Beach, which is very laid back with amazing gardens and scenery. Great scuba and snorkeling there too! Go there if you're looking for a romantic, more chill experience. You should definitely hike the Pitons while you're there too.
That's a fair observation. Before I made this video I asked myself, who is most likely to search for and benefit from this information? I came to the conclusion that it would be couples that have 1) never been to Sandals and 2) likely have never been on a tropical vacation. Therefore I provided information to help that demographic primarily.
@@cangambino We had an amazing time. I went with two of my friends and their husbands, so three couples. Food was awesome, we especially enjoyed the French Restaurant and the Pizzeria. The drinks weren’t bad but could have been stronger. Bob Marley’s are a must. The water was warm and the weather beautiful. We are booked again in 2024.
