Crazy thought: Why don’t Pokémon that are gifted (Lapras, Eevee, Porygon...etc) receive an EXP Boost in battle? You’re not the original trainer that caught them. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I don't know. I think the reason they added in the EXP boost was so you can't trade in a perfectly IV bred (or hacked) pokémon from a different game and then absolutely cruise through everything. The EXP boost essentially just complements the badge mechanics in this way.

I think because you are the OT. These pokemon were hatched or created, but never had a trainer. Which is also why you can nickname them, unlike traded Pokemon.

Celebi was supposed to be inside the GS Pokéballin the anime, just like he was in the manga, they scratched that when they released a movie featuring Celebi and then realised the messed up.

7:15 Nidoqueen actually does breed with Nidoking, but only in the wild. They never breed in the daycare, due to the protectiveness of their young. There was a Pokédex entry somewhere about it.

I've had an idea for the voltorb mystery for a while now. It's probably a rotom that was interested in the pokeballs and possessed one. When a rotom has possessed a machine it can still use its functions. I theorize that the rotom accidentally sealed itself using the capture mechanic of the ball. It's angry because it's trapped :(

In the early games, it is said that you need 8 medals to fight the league, but it is never exressivelly said they have to be from the same region (and here, my headcanon where gym leaders have different pokemon set up depending on how many medals the opponent already have); In the anime, there are secondary leagues that gives medal, like the ones from the orange isles, but aside from that """" recent"""" episode where gary decide to retire from fighting, the thing is never explored in more than passing

@@Jdudec367 I will tell You do examples (you probably will not remember them Because they are from filler episodes 😂) one example is from the Kanto anime and we have do gyms (not officially yet by the pokemon League) and one of the gym leaders had an electabuzz and the other one had an scyther (that episode its also the episode who pikachu loves Ketchup) and the other example is in johto a trainer who wanted to open a water Type gym because he was inspired form mistys sister I think

150 years to the time in which the world of Pokémon the tower in Ectuteak city was burned down mysteriously. This tower was called the Brass Tower. After the events of Brass Tower burning, it was later named The Burned Tower. It was said that the legendary beast, Lugia, used to preach there. However, once the Brass Tower burned, lugia fled to live in the Whirl Islands. Ho-oh, that lived in the Bell Tower nearby, flew away after the event, In search of a Pure-hearted trainer. While this tower burned, it was said that three unnamed Pokémon were to have died within the tower. No one knows what Pokémon they were, however. After Ho-oh left to search for a trainer, it returned briefly to revive these three Pokémon, once the fire was put out. These Pokémon know as Entei, Raikou, and Suicune, were revived. It was then destined for them to speed across the land since their revival. What if these three Pokemon was in fact the three evolution of eevee’s Jolteon, Flareon, and Vaporeon to proven more of this fact to be true the three legendary dogs were given abilities that is the same as the evolutions which is volt asorb, flash fire, water asorb all same abilities as the three evolution of eevee.

About the rare candies another weird fact is that shuckle used to be able to make them in the older games. It holds a berry that turns into berry juice but then if it continues to hold that it will eventually turn into a rare candy. Making shuckle a rare candy creator. Imagine a poucher stealing shuckle and berries to make rare candies to sell in bulk to evil organizations. Could be a fun plot point

There's a Pokémon fanfic series (The Child of Mew, The Child of Mew The Shadows of Kanto, The Child of Mew The Great War) that explains Gary's 10 badges by saying that each region that has Gyms has one for each type and that the ones everyone knows about are reffered to as the Elite Gyms.

The GS Ball was meant to contain Celebi and would have played a part in the anime with time travel, but then they decided to scrap that idea and use it for the movie Pokemon 4Ever, which is why we never see the GS Ball again, even though it was hyped so much. It was a plot point that changed into a movie.

I don’t know if someone already touched on this, but we know from Pokemon Red and Blue that there are more than 8 gyms. Saffron city has TWO gyms, but only one of which is a League recognized gym. The other was a fighting gym where at the end, the leader says to you “please don’t take our badge. I’ll give you one of these rare Pokemon instead.”

Fast forward to 2022. We realize the reason voltorb is so angry is because the hisuians constantly plugged up the hole it used to have to discard electricity. And the species gets so used to it, that it evolved to not have the hole at all.

To be honest, the GS ball isn't really mysterious. Its a ball made to catch time. Obviously Celebi. The ball is made from the feathers of Lugia and Ho-oh. In the manga, the seventh gym leader Pryce made this ball to catch Celebi to travel back in time to save his Lapras from dying. There you have it. :/

I assume there to be more than just 8 gyms in each region because you can’t expect every single trainer to go to the same exact gyms and win them, that would cause so much traffic, I think most trainers visit the gyms that’s on the way to their next destination or whichever are closest to them

The reason zigzagoon can learn surf is because traditionally the early rodent pokemon in all the games have a large move pool. For example all the way back in gen 1 rattatat could learn, bubble beam, thunder bolt, blizzard, toxic, dig. They've just kept this going. I suspect its a design choice since its very likely first time players will catch a rodent Pokémon since it will be the first or second pokemon you find. So if you are a 7 year old pokemon newb who just caught the first 6 pokemon you saw and stuck with them and are in need of a particular type for a gym battle, it is very likely your trusty rodent will have you covered.

Rhinos which are in captivity, the females who matured that cant breed. Only nidoquerns in the wild can breed. So pretty much thats why nidoqueens cant breed

Kindof a creepy theory, but maybe the Voltorb and Electrode of the Poke world are the result of the earliest attempts to create 'digitizing' Pokeballs? I mean, combining the computerized breakdown of matter or whatnot with a set, physical barrier item (Pokeball) must've taken ages, and maybe a few unlucky Pokemon got merged with the Pokeballs during the first attempts? The subsequent 'accidents' ended up still living as Pokemon, though, so they can now breed and battle just like any other- but their form and element are now permanently set in the digital zapping of a sentient Pokeball.

Hey dobbs, I might have a theory for voltorb. The company that created pokeballs in one of their experiments tried to put a Pokemon in a prototype pokeball and they managed turn the Pokémon in a red light(laser ... whatever that is) and put it in the pokeball. But the Pokémon captured inside the body was still conscious. The Pokémon didn’t know how to get out and was very mad about it so it somehow manages to possess the pokeball and become one with it. The pokeball was a prototype after all so it was still missing something very important. So the voltorb was created. It might be that voltorb was a electric type Pokémon before it was captured and it’s because of his anger and desperate attempts to break out of the ball that he always explodes when he gets angry. What do you think?

Ryhdon can learn surf because of its innate ability to spin its body parts propelling itself through water. That also creates a gust of wind that allows him to use the move blizzard and creates friction that allows him to use fire blast

To be fair, Mewtwo having two Mega Stones were basically confirmed to be technically Team Rocket property since RR Giovanni has a Mega Mewtwo X or Y depending on the game: X for Ultra Sun, and Y for Ultra Moon.

The Berserk Gene and Mewtwo in GSC is not a mystery. Gamefreak did originally intend to include Cerulean Cave and Mewtwo, but due to the limitations of the GBC cartridges at the time, a lot of areas had to be dumbed down or removed altogether. This is why the Seafoam Islands, the Power Plant, Cinnabar Island, Cerulean Cave, and Blaine's Gym were all either removed entirely, inaccessible, or scaled down drastically. If the GSC games hadn't tried to include both Kanto and Johto in the same game, then it would have had a lot more to do in Johto due the the extra space on the cartridge. It wasn't a "time constraints" issue, as Gamefreak already had the programming code to include Mewtwo from the previous games. It wouldn't have been that hard to include it, had they had enough space. So yeah, not a mystery. The remakes, HGSS did include Cerulean Cave and Mewtwo, so that basically proves it.

I’m don’t have much context of Gen 6 Pokémon lore but maybe…what if Mewtwo made their own mega evolution stones themselves? I feel like it would make sense. They were able to make a whole gym and clones with a machine with the bones of the scientists they killed in the anime movie, they could do a lot of things so maybe making a stone isn’t far off

I assume Mewtwo’s Mega Stone always existed but it was useless until Mewtwo found it. It wasn’t specifically for him, that’s why there’s 2 for him his cloned DNA just happened to be a match for those magic stones.

I believe the ??? type was meant to be a type neutral to all existing types. In pokemon colosseum the move shadow rush was essentially the same as the ??? type being neutral to everything. These rules were changed however in gale of darkness, but there may be some connection. The scrapped HM move made me think of buried alive lol. In one episode of the anime a giant Gengar and Alakazam fight and Jigglypuff ends up stopping them. In this episode I found it interesting to note the fact the technology used to seal the pokemon were nowhere near related to apricorns or pokeballs it seemed. There is a girl in pokemon x and y that once you enter a certain room she appears to levitate when she moves and says "you're not the one." A hex maniac if I remember correctly in ORAS said the same thing. So weird... 💫

The GS ball did something in the manga. It is the pokeball that can capture time itself and caught celebs. It was also crafted by Pryce

I have a theory for pokeballs: so when they turn red or white the Pokemon gets de-atomised into nano like particles and get control over the poke ball slightly because they can escape and in some episodes you see the ball move to the trainers question and when they come out they get Re-atomised That's just a little theory for you dobbs

HM3 in Gen 1 might be a HM initially intended to use for one of those black holes, player drop into end up in a different floor of the cave? Glad they scraped it off though.

#14: I think like in a lot of video games the lore (which the anime covers) and the gameplay are different - regions are definitely bigger in lore then they are in video games and there's more cities and probably more gyms - the games kinda compress it all, but yeah I think it would be cool to have an optional or conditional gym or there could be starker differences between versions where the map is different and there's different cities and gyms to do.

Nidoqueen and Nidorina just cannot breed in captivity, but in the wild. There was a specific kind of rhino they share that trait with. I don't remember which one though.

for the badges, there are some GYM abit unpopular, thats why gym leaders need to meet their quota else their gym won't be listed and required for the challenge in elite 4. but they are still a gym. you would know this harsh lore when you play pokemon sword and shield.

So I know this video is old but apparently the GS BALL was supposed to be Celebi. There was supposed to be a huge arc for Celebi but they decided to do a movie (pokemon 4ever) so they left the GS BALL with Kurt hoping people would forget said Hidaka in a 2008 interview.

One of Gary's badges is actually the symbol the Japanese people have to put on their car for one year after they get their driver's license, it is the beginner driver symbol. Gary got his license at age 10. Wow.

We know the gs ball was supposed to have a celebi in it and Ash would have it for a while - basically the plot done much later with Meloetta, but they dumped it and made Celebi be in the 4th movie instead. And Voltorb is probably a poke ball that came to life. There's Buddhist beliefs about items coming to life if they survive for 100 years. Notice Voltorb is originally pokemon number 100.

True shiny Gyrados was gold back in day. I think they mustve scrapped it in favour for the popularity of the red one. I caught a shiny magikarp in crystal version once and evolved it to see if it would be red. Was a pretty cool surprise to see it gold.

12:40 my hypothesis is that rare candys are made to be like a Medicean or food that helps Pokémon grow. We know that barriers like apricots have social powers so could rare candy’s just be a mix of barriers

#6 another theory about Voltorb was that Pokemon that have been stuck in their Pokeballs for so long that the essence (red energy when going in) fused with the Poke Ball which turned them into Voltorbs.

Asian Rhynos are excellent swimmers. That's why pokemon like Rhydon and Nidoking can learn surf (same applies to Zigzagoon, which is a raccoon). Snorlax's density is relatively lower than human's, which have positive buoyancy. And Tyranitar is based on Godzilla, do I need to say more?

hehe speaking of shiny pokemon,one can say they existed ever since in the anime for the glowing,glittering unidentified flying pokemon from very first episode of gen 1 (which however ressembeld ho-oh perfectly)

I can imagine arceus's divine type having a 0,75 type weakness and being able to hit any type ( just like theres a special ability that let normal type attacks hit ghost type.)

For the Nido question, it’s down to genetics of rhinos. Older female rhinos being sterile so only the younger female rhinos can breed, but male rhinos can breed all their lives

the GS ball was confirmed to hold Celebi, but was scrapped. I forgot which producer confirmed it but it was done.

The Nidoqueen Mewtwo clones in the anime somehow was able to breed which is odd. They were also baby Nidoqueen of all things.

"shiny" maybe just a general term to identify different color pokemon regardless of the reason, that's why all pokemon can be shiny, but that doesn't explain why the same species would have the same color pattern, maybe just so it can be possible in-game who knowsss

About the ga ball. I think it was going to xontain celebi becauss of the gs ball event in pokemon crystal. But then they later decided that celebi would have its own movie so they thought that they should just leave the gs ball with kurt and hoped that everyone would forget about it. Which is stupid

Before pokeballs you would just travel around with all those of your pokemon that were too big to fit into apricorns outside next to you, similar to how Ash travels with Pikachu. Back then, you had to gain a Pokémon's trust before it would join your party. These days you with the technology used in the pokeballs and capture stylers, this step has become obsolete. Experts argue that a lot of the emotional bond is lost this way, though. The law of only having 6 pokemon in your party was introduced both for competitive purposes, but also to relief public transportation before pokeballs were a thing.

I think the dogs that ho-oh resurrect is actually an unused pokemon from the development of Gen 1 or my other theory is that they where the last of the normal native animals to the pokemon world

Pokemon Origins implied that Mr Fuji knew of the Megastones and created 2 for Mewtwo and 1 for charizard. How he created artificial megastones and why he made an extra one for Charizard of all pokemon are the real mysteries.
