The first TV my wife and I got, after we moved to Minnesota to find work was one of those shoe box GE TV's. Had it on a wire type stand that we could turn to the bedroom at night and kitchen/livingroom/dining room combo in a small apartment. It worked great if you had enough tinfoil on the rabbit ears.

When I was a kid growing up in NJ in the 60's THOSE were exactly the kinds of TV sets I would get out of the garbage. Floor model Magnavox and Zeniths, oh yeah. We didn't get Hoffman's because they were for the most part mfd in Los Angeles and I don't think they had distribution on the East Coast. When I went away to school I left my poor parents about 25 b/w TV sets they had to get rid of. Why you would want those sets today is completely unfathomable to me today, but so be it. I really appreciate your freeway views of LA, though, where I lived in the 80's & 90's and then moved to No Cali to take care of my elderly folks....the ones who dealt with all the damn TV sets I had accumulated in the basement. LA in the 80's was the best time and place to be alive EVER. Carry on!

I was watching a few of your videos and wondered what the oldest and strangest tv or console you had gotten was and what the oldest you have fixed was you really do find great stuff
You can cut vinyl on that "recordio" beast? I imagine it's not stereo, but quite impressive. I thought the process took 2-3 steps to get a playable record.
Died in 1997 at age 45. Surely heard "Lotta Love" thousands of times. I never seemed to be tired of it. Nice bass line. Very subtle with small changes to make it groove and crescendo. God Bless
I just saw a tube TV on the sidewalk in Goshen, CA. But it's a newer Sanyo TV and he probably wouldn't want it. There's probably a million of those you can find between So. Cal. and Central CA.
i wouldnt imagine you would want to come to north carolina but i have an old zenith you could have that i just dont want to throw away or have it fishtanked.
That Magnavox black and white all the way at the far end with the speaker grill on each side, I have the console version of it I just got it. If you still happen to have the crt from it if you trashed it or parted it out and wanna sell it I may be interested if it tests good.
As many already know, most of the time rejuvenating sony crts doesn't go well at all. I have had it go quite well a handful of times, but I'd say only somewhere around 20 to 30 percent.
Not only Americans, I'm Australian, I like 'em. I guess though it's nostalgia from knowing that something was once made your own country, not China. For instance, I'm pretty sure the Australian government wanted to count making coffee (literally serving coffee, not growing it) as part of our 'manufacturing' stats. Go figure lol. Most new jobs here are idiots making coffee for other idiots, with a 1000% markup etc on a cup of coffee. The 'services' industry.
