This video is old but still so helpful! Your videos are friggin amazing and I always learn so much. Anchors and linking logo to home page were my take aways today and I sincerely thank you for that 🌟
Thanks. Re. no 13, if you always work within margins then viewers on larger screens will see your content as a centralised column with a vast amount of empty space either side, which looks terrible if you ask me. It's not so bad on a laptop but try viewing your site on a 24" monitor ! STRIPS AND COLUMNS are the answer apparently; they spread content beyond the margins in a way that's responsive, ie won't get "cut off" ,regardless of the device they are on. You can't use them on shop pages but you can use them on "normal" pages
Someone mentioned "slowing down a bit". I agree. For beginners like me who don't immediately understand the terminology used by those of you who are proficient in this field, its difficult to grab the concept unless we know the specificity of a word. For example, I'm not a veterinarian so I wouldn't understand all the medical terms they use. The same holds true here. So, I'm constantly stopping and starting (and sometimes backing up) the video to recognize what you mean. Regardless, I truly appreciate your thoroughness and knowledge of WIX. "Build your own website", they said. "It'll be fun!" lol I am enjoying it but it'll probably be more 'fun' when I have it published. lol
Your points and tips are well done. Just one comment on your pace…slow down a bit. But otherwise outstanding content well worth the time for beginners.
Thank you. Less than 5 minutes in and I realized I could add images to the mobile site that I couldn't pull from the main site because I used them for parallax on the main site.
Thanks for the tips! One thing, the example of your viewers using RU-vid was not clever at all. A many people use youtube as a social media and not for a service you individually give. I barely check websites on my phone if I'm not home, and if I'm using my phone, I'm mostly using apps and not their website. Another point is that, I use youtube many times as podcast because I don't need the screen, or as of right now I'm drifting away doing other things on my laptop and just listening to you and when I hear something that I find interesting I'm coming back to this tab to see if you are demonstrating something. Just had to mention them, thanks for the informative video tho. :)
Your video was very instructive, thanks for sharing all this knowledge. I just started on Wix this weekend and I am quite happy with the results. I have one issue thought that I cannot figure out :( I used a blanc template and I am stocked with navigation arrows on my home page (left and right) of the screen that I cannot remove. I do not want these arrows as I have a very simple top menu. Do you think it is something that I cannot change because I started from a template ? Thanks in advance
is there a way in a wix store to show that a product is sold (the ribbon) but just gray out or hide the add to cart function without having to show the out of stock? I think it looks better and still allows customers to see all the product information and price...please help I have been looking everywhere
Great useful video, I like your tips, thanks. Would you be able to help me to figure out how to integrate my logo to the menu bar instead of "Home"? I saw this on some websites and I really like it, having logo in the centre of the menu bar. I was playing around with wix, but couldn't find this feature. Thanks
Hello...thank you for the information, very helpful! One question...why when I view my website on the wix platform looks different from when I go into it from google. Images are missing, and it just not up to date?
I'm wondering the same. Mine looks great on wix both mobile version, and desktop, but when opened via social media link some texts are missing 😢. Have you figured your issue out?
Hi, I’m having a couple of problems and my wicks page under the SCO optimization. It’s also not recognizing when I add the text at once to the homepage, which is the site title and it’s continuing to show an error code.
Thanks for this video. Could you please show me how to assign a sub-menu page to a specific product? I need my client to so right to a product page when S/He clicks on my sub-menu. Here is what I need: My Menu: Menu Item (Standard Page)-----> Sub-Menu (an actual product page) Example: Business cards ------------------------> Cotton Business Card (This is an actual product where my client can choose all the variants I entered in.) Thanks
My issue is when I rename my headers such as home. Shop all and etc my product page link when you click on a product to click next or click home doesn’t work on the product page
is there a way to inspect the padding between elements? I'm not talking about alignment in layouts. I just want to see the pixels between different items on the page.
@Santrel Media When making a dynamic page in wix, I can't fit all the info I'd like to share into one section. Is there a limit on how many elements you can show? Thanks!
Great video, thank you 🔥 However I now wonder if it's best to have a form for contact OR your email OR both? I've been told that displaying your professional email directly is well perceived but that at the same time, you can get hacked more easily??

Hi, I am having problems with the text alignment on my website on Wix. Everything seems perfect in the editor but goes completely off when viewing the published site ... Any ideas on how to fix this problem?
Is there a way of bringing people back to your site after they have used a site link to RU-vid for example also hoping you'll answer if I send folk to a document how to they get back to your site once they've read the document and or visited the link/ s hope you'll help and soon
need help quick if you restore a previous version of a website is it possible to reverse it? I want to publish a previous version and work on the newer version ? is this possible????
can someone pls help me to create hyperlink to the menu and the relted pages so that if i click on something on the home page it will direct me to the other page?
My Wix site says all of a sudden it is "Not Secure". When I rang the company the bungling operative rang off because he never knew his job how it should be fixed.
why is it. that when I hide in wix and preview my icons do not hide. they are there. they hide on my edit side but appears on when preview.. this wix sucksss ass...HELP!!.
You spoke about anchors and making sure they are located properly. I have a website where I have one page with many strips and using anchors to navigate through when the button is clicked on the menu. Although my buttons go to the correct strip (by using the anchors), the menu buttons highlight incorrectly the current location. Is there anyway to fix this?
hell I can't even get passed half way through wix and I have to start all over again because something happens and then I spend 4 hours on the phone for nothing to get fixed
I'm interested in adding nofollow to external affiliate links on my WIX pages (not my WIX blog posts, which have a nofollow command that I will conveniently use). Unfortunately, WIX PAGES (not blog posts, rather, regular pages) do not have a nofollow command to apply to an external link on a page. BUT, I am told by WIX support that if I can provide the JavaScript code to nofollow, they can tell me how to add it to the code to a page's links to make it happen. Does anyone know what the JavaScript code is that causes a nofollow? I can't find it anywhere. And how frustrating is it that WIX hasn't added that feature when people have been requesting it for years? Also, does the slower site speed on a WIX site pretty much make it a bad idea for an affiliate site? Is WIX just a bad idea overall if someone wants to have a fully developed/fully optimized affiliate site?
How about the mistake of ridiculously fucking massive pictures and other empty whitespace that take up the entire screen (or more than the entire screen), add nothing of significance, yet force the user to scroll down when the same information could easily have fit on one page, no scrolling required? Why is it that nearly every website today looks fucking atrocious on my PC, on my tablet, and on my phone? In an age where every device has had 16 : 9 or wider displays for over a decade, how is it that web designers think our displays are something like 1 : 10 billion? Use the goddamned horizontal space, and stop making your fonts/pictures/buttons needlessly large. Scrolling is a sin to be avoided whenever possible and only needed as a last resort if fitting everything in one screen becomes too crowded.
My housemate has been noticing the same thing. Nowadays, businesses are becoming slack with marketing. We have witnessed so many grammatical errors in websites (some really up there companies, ie, Creality 3D Printer websites) as if the websites was designed by someone with no knowledge at all about building websites. So many companies are resorting to using slang and abbreviated words, instead of actually explaining things. Many companies are looking real "dumbed down" the last few years.... anyone else notice this? Nowadays it's all about being "with the times" doing thinks the way the new generation is, but that's the problem right there, it has thrown professionalism out the window....
