***** Its seems like your talking out of your ass to be an opposite. i'm just giving this kid props in my opinion. I've played basketball my entire life and in 80's this kid WOULD have been NBA draft material where as now this is quite frequent. And I'll take you on your tough man statement. Show me a video of a 15 year old kid who isn't in the NBA(since that was my arguement) doing these same things in 80s. please.......

No I'm from Brooklyn, Ny. I grew up as a kid watching a young Stephon Marbury, Sebastian Telfair, Bone Collector. But the point is even in your claim Kenny Anderson was IN THE NBA. Please read before you reply something that proves exactly what I was saying in the first place. And at 15 i'm positive they didn't have 10 times the handles that this kid has. At the end of the day, I'm not here to argue online about a kid I don't even know. I'm just giving my opinion and giving this kid props, not being an ignorant hater by basicaly saying he has NO FIRE. @@gnice42 good thing you aren't a GM. This dude has done nothing in college. Transferred for a third time and has yet to score double digit PPG or shoot above 40% from the field. What you fail to realize is AAU is garbage and teaches you no fundamentals and this kid clearly peaked as a 15 year old physically. Has he even had a dunk in his collegiate career? Nothing has translated for him besides a decent pull up mid range jumper (his only move) and decent passing. He will be lucky to play in the lowest level league in China, let alone the NBA. You fell for the click bait and highlights (Next Kyrie?????) and never actually watched a game of him under a proper setting to truly evaluate him. And part of the reason why these kids have supposedly better handles is because they're allowed to carry and travel as many times as they please and none of these refs call jack shit. You ever watch James Harden, Westbrook, LBJ etc? If they properly officiated they'd average damn near 10 turnovers a game. I mean Westbrick and Harden already average near 4-5 as it is. Modern NBA is all style and no substance, rigged ass shit. No wonder why most of these franchises can't put any butts in the seats and ratings have continued to go down.

I'm 6 years late to the party... did a bit of research after seeing this video. Broke my heart to hear what happened to him @ Duke. In retrospect, I wonder if reclassing to jump aboard Duke early was the best idea. All in all, looks like he's doing well in Boston now. I hope things work out well for him. Just lets me know, I need to be as informed as possible if my little guy is blessed enough to have even half the options Derryck had.

I remember this kid 10 years back, I'm a year younger than dude. What sucks is the fact that he stopped growing at 15, same thing happened to me, I stopped growing when I was 12 and it does something to you psychologically when your basketball peers hit 6'6+ and your stuck at 6'0-6'2. But basketball isn't everything, I now run a tech company and make just as much as an athlete, while my basketball peers are still trying to "make it", which puts in a wormhole and will waste your early 20s. I recommend you tall athletes make use of your height and leadership skills in the corporate field or become an entrepreneur

He should be the starting point at Duke. He got the offense going against Kentucky whenever he was in the game. High IQ, good passer, good shot and obviously great handles. D needs work but his upside and what he brings to the offense far outweighs his defensive deficiencies.
