A short-lived Pebble Forest, like miniature Thai Temples, Hallelujah Bay, Portland.
Remarkable 'forest' of stacked towers of stone pebbles, balanced by a hundred 'stackers' of all ages at Hallelujah Bay, West Weares, Portland, on Dorset's Jurassic Coast. An artistic celebration to coincide with Portland hosting the sailing events of the 2012 London Olympics, in August 2012. These pebbles are all indigenous white Portland Stone, unlike those of nearby Chesil Beach which are much harder, having rolled in from the west over millennia. The passing vessel is the historic M.V. Balmoral. All was washed down in the next storm.

Wow that's incredible Stuart, what a sight that must have been. I especially like the end stack 😉
