Like others, I have lots of flashlights too including Chinese cheap made lights. But since my experience with surefire's warranty service, i never looked back. I now have 11 Surefire flashlights in my arsenal including this one. E2D, EDCL2, EDCL1, Tactician, Fury IntelliBeam and Peacekeeper are my favorites.
100% I don’t need the cheap Chinese junk to light my way to grandmas house, where I have to push two buttons in a certain sequence to go into “turbo mode” absolute bullshit
I still use (regularly) my 2007 Surefire L4 Digital Lumamax with the Lux5 LED and my E2D Led defender with the 120 lumen rating, back in the day when the company rated their lumens on the minimum output with half dead batteries. I have quite a few of their modern stuff but I always have a soft spot for the vintage ones.
It took me a year to figure out olight would not work as my duty light, All three stopped working within a year then I switched to surefire and there’s no comparison if your life depends on it buy surefire!!
I bougt a Fenix like that - tailswitch failed, no light. I bought a Nitecore like that - tailswitch failed. Now I finally bought a Surefire G2X LE and I am happy! I should have bought a surefire in the first place! Oh, and I bought an O-Light also: If you put the switch on...you feel the delay until the light goes on. Not what you want in a situation where split seconds count! So: Buy a Surefire!
Yeah the Chinese lights like Nitecore and klarus etc. are cool and all but I’ve had my fill of them and I’m only going with Streamlight and surefire from now on, the quality is unmatched and the efficiency is really good
I just got this light myself. Here's why I chose this model over all others by Surefire: - Lumens, yeah the EDC2L has more, but it's also bigger. - Crenelated bezel, I'm not planning to hit anyone, but when I do it's gonna hurt. - Size, not too big, not too small - Crenelated end cap, you can set this on it's end, and use it to light a room. - Lanyard holes, just having the option to put a wrist strap on it, or hang it off your key-chain. The only downside: I can't find a holster for it.
My Surefires took me through a literal war and back, and years of other military use. My Surefires lasted through years of construction use, being lost and in the snow in my driveway and run over by heavy equipment, truck and trailers, and when found the next spring.. turned right on. My Olight crapped out right at one year of use with me being disabled and doing nothing but boring EDC and I washed and dried it one time. Olight are bullsh*t Walmart grade toys to give to the kids for a birthday present.
army tek are so far ok i have 2 wizard head lamp they on 8 hrs a day at work for the last 10 yrs never any problem still use them as my walking light i also have a c 4 partner longest runtime flashlight at mid power amazing switch are indeed there weak link also have elzetta , malkoff i do like the surefire one expensive in canada
I agree surefire flashlights are the best as in your can trust them no matter what happen. They do cost alot and the other flashlight brands do just fine for half the price but to each their own
Plus, they are going to have your back, if you have an issue, go to google, search up Surefire Customer Service and a real live phone number pops up that gets you connected with an actual person who WILL help you. The days of great customer service are long gone, but not at Surefire.
@@Sweetknives Streamlight stands behind there lights,,,,,, thats why most all fire departments use them. , I sell them, the litebox's mainly. I have 2 surefire's and many streamlights in edc and duty carry.. There both top lights! TY for the great video!
i owned a P3x for me its kinda outdated and yes Olight is S#it they use TIR lenses for the new models without any external tampered glass window, for me the great alternative close to surefires are the Fenix Flashlights
Surefire lumen specifications are actually lab verified. Company has legit quality standards... been a loyal customer since 2003. Own a dozen different surefire, many of which are no longer made
My Manker T01s can compete with Surefire E2D Defender. You can also check Elzetta and Malkoff, they are fully potted electronics, tougher than Surefire.
There is only one problem with this flashlight and that's the Batteries it uses is SUREFIRE 123A LITHIUM BATTERIES which a pack of 12 costs $25.00 and once done you have to dispose of them and buy a new ones , since they can't be recharged.
I have a lot of surefires vampire and m952v for my rifle but when i saw this one at basspro was like 179 bucks . It was the last one there and i was not going to just walk past it lol . You can buy fenix or whatever but all sudden they stop working and depending where you buy it . You are shit out of luck and down 80 bucks .
Looks like it stands on its end? Other Surefires gave a twist to stay on feature. This one apparently is a continued click to stay in right? The streamlight brand does compete I think and for way less $$. Particularly the protac series. Surefire def looks nicer on video at least. Would the Tactician clip fit on this? How does this compare to the EDCL2T? Pros /cons?
You think because you can get a bright light for bouncing around the house it’s the same as a light that literally get through war and back. You’re dreaming.
@@Heywoodthepeckerwood I have a ton of Surefires, I also have my modlite and CD MCH. They’re all bomb proof lights but my Foursevens Quark MK III has been through hell and back. Dropped that bad boy in lakes, rivers, on cement, also been dropped from a steep ledge while on a hike.. still running strong 💪🏼
Disposables will always be an option. You can't beat the readiness of throwing in a fresh set of batteries and having your light ready to go instead of waiting on a recharge.
You could buy something so much better than this for the money. I have 5 of the best flashlights and the e2d is never used, sux due to the fact that they are finicky to batteries, high drain, and a pain to keep charged. The high power mode only works with full batteries. I tried rercharbles and they were crappy. So there's that.
Once upon a time Malkoff was awesome. I own a few of their bulbs for my old Surefires. The problem is Surefire and the rest of them caught up now and Malkoff is hardly even relevant anymore.
