You guys see that golden metal box they ladled the sugar in? That metal box is called “peep” and that’s what many older Thai generations grew up seeing them in the market, so this sugar usually doesn’t called coconut sugar in Thai, but we called it “nam taan peep” (sugar in a metal box) instead even when they don’t usually come in peep anymore.

สมัยผมเป็นเด็กเรามีสวนมะพร้าวที่จังหวัดสมุทรสงคราม เรามีน้ำตาลมะพร้าวไม่ฟอกสีใส่ปีบน้ำมันกาซทานใส่อาหารทำขนมตลอดเวลา ตอนอยูไทยพวกพ่อแม่ญาติพี่น้องหลายชั่วโคตรไม่เคยมีใครเป็นโรคความดัน เบาหวาน ความดัน เลยสักคนอยู่กันจนอายุเกือบ ๑๐๐ พอมาถึงรุ่นผมแค่ ๔๐ กว่าเบาหวานกินจนต้องทานยากัน ๘ ขนานทุกวันไม่ได้กินน้ำตาลมะพร้าวสักฝา

Di Daerahku (Kabupaten Blitar, Jawa Timur, Indonesia) dulu produk ini "gula kelapa/Jawa" merupakan produksi "rumahan". Saya masih ingat "wajan" tempat mengolah "legen" sangat besar. Sebab pemilik usaha ini "Mbah Sidik" termasuk Bu Dhe sendiri. Tapi setelah itu saya tidak tahu perkembangannya. Sebab peristiwa 1965 (G30 S PKI), bukanhanya peristiwa politik. Tapi juga peristiwa budaya dan ekonomi!!

@@somkuansidalon9899 มันก็คือน้ำตาลสดไงครับ แต่เอาแบบสดจากต้นเลยหากินยาก ตาม ตจว. ตามตลาดหรืองานพอมีให้เห็นบ้าง แต่ปรกติแล้วต้องนำไปเคี่ยวก่อนเพื่อฆ่าเชื้อเพราะมันบูดง่าย แล้วมันจะเข้มขึ้นหวานกว่าเดิมจนบาดคอ ถ้าหาง่ายๆก็แบบบรรจุขวดมีหลายยี่ห้อ ตามห้างมีขายครับ

I use coconut palm sugar in my coffee. I'm a diabetic and it has a low glycemic index so it is better than regular sugar.

สมัยก่อนแถวต่างจังหวัดมีต้นตาลต้นมะพร้าวบ้านละต้น2ต้น..พ่อก็ทำน้ำตาลมะพร้าวไว้ดื่มกันในครอบครัวไม่ได้มากมาย.สมัยนั้นทำไมตำรวจคอยมากวนอยุ่เรื่อยจนพ่อเหนื่อยใจจนต้องตัดต้นตาลทิ้ง..ที่พูดถึงตำรวจสมัยนั้นเพราะน้ำตาลเอาไปต้มกลั่นทำเหล้าได้ แต่ปริมาณที่ของน้ำตาลที่ออกมาจากต้นเดียวไม่น่าจะสามารถเอาไปทำแอลกอฮอร์ได้แค่ได้น้ำตาลหวานๆหอมอร่อยดื่มกันในครอบครัวเท่านั้น..

I agree. It just tastes more natural as this was intended to be our sugar and you feel satisfied. White cane sugar is addicting and has an unnatural taste.

Olá,sou do Brasil! Nas fazendas antigas aqui também se produzia açúcar desta forma,vi meu avô fazer muito melado rapaduras e xaropes . também fazia compotas de goiabas e marmelada. A natureza é tudo de bom né Parabéns pelo empenho e carinho!

To do this in the west they would require FDA Certification,USDA Certifications and all other Certifications.Yearly renewals. They would also require to invest in equipments which are complient to the rules set forward by these authority's. They would be making maximum of 100$ a day from this & It would be practicality impossible for such a small bussiness to invest so much.

Que bonito video, felicidades, en México, cuando era colonia de España, destila banda ese jugo de coco, que aquí conocemos como "Tuba" pero como esa bebida competía con los vinos que traían de España, la prohibieron y quitaron todos los palmares, y después de eso es cuando se empezó a destilar el agave o mezcal, dando origen a el hoy famoso tequila
