Your statement is a bit daunting. It is something many people say to themselves to disqualify or prevent themselves from pursuing their dreams. Dear reader, please give yourself the grace to pursue your dreams. Fight impostor syndrome. There are many families in Canada who would apply to recruitment agencies or to be sponsors/employers of the new care giver visa. What makes you think you are not the best of the best? The reason why any family would chose a caregiver over more than 5 caregivers they have interviewed is not because that he/she has a PhD in caring for people. It might be because they like that particular care giver and feel that their families will be safe with them. Get a job offer first, then apply for a visa with all the documents required. Stop worrying about what other people are doing. The best in life will never win if they never give themselves a chance. All the best!

Following the requirements from the previous caregiver pilot programmes, HCCP and HSP, it says “An ECA is used to check that your completed foreign educational credential is valid and equal to a completed Canadian one-year post-secondary education credential or higher. This can be a degree, diploma, certificate or other proof of your education.” If this is the same situation with the new programme, then only your high school diploma or degree should be assessed as most care certificates when evaluated may not be equivalent to one year of post secondary education in Canada. However, I would suggest that you wait until all the details of the evaluation required for ECA are published the Canadian government website. Then you will be sure of which documents needs to be evaluated. All the best!

@@emmanuella-l2e WES advises that you evaluate the highest qualification, therefore, it should be the Diploma in Nursing if it was acquired from one of their recognised institutions. You have nothing to worry if you took some years to acquire it and it is not the online one that people get in one month. Kindly do more investigations. All the best!

I would also want to know if for example Im a registerwd nurse in my home country but I lack experience as a caregiver and I never worled in a hospital setting would that be a problem?

Working as a registered nurse involves caring for people. That is what registered nurses have, they have clinical care skills. Didn’t you do student placements? Where was all your student placements?

Please note that all the details of the qualifications to be evaluated has not been published. Anything I write here is my opinion. It is wiser to wait until everything has been detailed on the government website. I believe that for Canada to accept any qualification, it has to be evaluated. There are opportunities to evaluate all your qualifications by WES. At the same time, I think that the most important evidence is to show that you have successfully finished secondary or higher and that the education you have is equivalent to that of Canadian high school diploma or higher. You are welcome. On reddit, some people complained that some provinces don't accept IELTS UKVI for PR. I think it is safer to use IELTS Canada Immigration. If you have IELTS UKVI, you can try your luck. We need to wait for the Canadian government launches the program so that we can know for sure. I will keep you updated.
