I love this one! Very nice. Also I think I learned what I have been doing wrong from this video. I think I have been piping my lines to thin. It blooms but not very much. Thank you for all of your videos and for making so many great molds as well. I have a few that I got from your eBay store and have lots more favorited that I want to get eventually. I really love the coaster molds with turtles and sea creatures around the edge.

OMG, that's absolutely perfect! You couldn't have done better. That is a brilliant fix! if the resin blooms inward, then sucking from the middle is brilliant. Question: If you were going to swirl, then why did you need to suck it all in? Would it have just been streaky? One more question: Why don't you just fill and tilt to distribute the black background instead of trying to spread it? Seems the coverage would be better if you tilted. And thank you so much for showing us how to clean things like syringes. I have needle tipped applicators and I needed to know how to clean them. Save all you can and save the planet!

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! The reason the white works so well is because of the titanium oxide. There are other oxide based colorants you can find on amazon that should give you the same results.

Could you please let me know what kind of resin you use for coasters. I’ve made two sets with heat resistant resin and you can’t set a hot cup of coffee on them . I’m not sure what good coasters are if they don’t hold hot drinks.

I love how you share your problems with your pieces. I used to teach deaf children in middle school. They could be so very critical of themselves. When they would get upset about how something they did didn’t work as well as perhaps something their fellow classmates did I always told them, “Your successes come from your failures”. If you never try you’ll only fail to succeed. I feel that way about your work. Your success has come directly from your failures which means by default…..you never fail because you always try. 🤟 Keep up the good work!

This is quite amazing and gorgeous !!! I wonder how it would look if you put a Cobalt Blue as the background color ? And, yeah, I'd wash out the syringe to use it again. Maybe put the resin you took out into a small pendant mould to not waste it ? Would that work out ? Love your channel, and, I'm so close to getting all the materials needed to start doing this craft. TYSM for sharing your techniques and knowledge with us. 👍😻❣️😍

when you swirl and stir the colors, are you just barely skimming the resin or are you touching the stick all the way thru the resin to the mold? and how deep is the clear resin in the mold before assing color? gorgeous creations, thank you.

I, with my scientific brain, had to think about why sucking out the middle worked. Now I know why. Heat causes expansion, which is why the bloom happens, but as you notice, it happens more to the outer edges than it does in the middle. That's because epoxy can only expand so much before it's stopped by something else (another color), and in general, there is less density (with color in any form) towards the outside in a bloom technique ... so it can move more. Yes, it's still heating, but the outward pressure from the outermost parts of the mold will overwhelm exponentially to the center (since it's coming from all 360 degrees) and will compress the center to the point that it's not going to bloom. Of course, that depends on the density of what's in the center, and in this case, the center is dense. Thus, removing the pressure will allow the pigment to flow, and allow a bloom because the epoxy, while hot, has more room to move. There will still be variables as to how the center looks because it will continue to heat until it's too firm to "pull out" the pressure, and the blooms all happen as the temperature of the resin decreases, which allows it to pull together towards the center, and thus, the bloom effect. The bloom effect starts with the spreading of the colored resin with heat, and ends with the pulling of the resin back into the center as it cools, which is why it looks like a flower. I know this is very scientific, but if you know to suck out from the middle, then you inherently understand what happens. Maybe understanding the physics will help you to perfect some of your pours. Hot means "out", or expansion. Cool means "in" or contraction, which is where the flower effect happens. The denser the center (either stronger pigment or additives like glitter/beads/etc), the less likely you're going to get the desired bloom and thus, have to extract some of the bulk of the resin to create room for a bloom. That sounds complicated, but it's not if you think about it. Maybe, to get a bloom to the center, the beads/glitter/whatever needs to be added last to prevent the laws of physics to require you to suck out product?

Hello dear, love your videos and have used your techniques. I just started using resin a few days ago. I mixed up 4 ounces and made 3 coasters. I noticed I had a sore throat and a headache after using the resin. I was wondering if you use a respirator? Any problems with these chemicals for you? Thank you.💜
