Oh my gosh! 😮. Hope everyone was ok. How did it happen?

I was experimenting with a TV tray, my first time trying resin, and it just combusted and started my house on fire! I googled it and it was called flash cure and I guess because I was using it outside the air temperature would not let the gases from the resin escape. That's how I understand it.

That's one of my favorite things about it too. Not sure what step made it like that, but I hope to replicate that effect someday.

@Mistiesky The glitter at the edge does that feathering to the outer petals. It "shreds" them, as Julie says. 😊

@Chrissy L The shipping goes by weight, so it wouldn't matter if she ordered all 3 at once, or each one separately: total shipping would be the same.

I was also wondering about the alcohol ink fading. I haven’t used them very much because I’ve heard they fade. Now I’m nervous to use them.

@Mell mell That one Alcohol Ink Scare video *may* have been a bit misleading, Mell. It was made in good faith, BUT... It is possible that the inks used were inferior. They were certainly not Let's Resin inks! Daniel Cooper did a great test of the alcohol inks by Let's Resin, high concentrate, and, after 10 weeks in full sun - outside, no less! & going on 12-13 weeks now - there has hardly been ANY change to any of them (I can't see that there's been *any* change), I kid you not. So, I truly believe much depends on the quality of inks, plus he uses Let's Resin 3X, (the Daniel Cooper formulation), which protects resin from yellowing with sun exposure. Hope that helps a bit? I'm definitely not going to quit using my Let's Resin alcohol inks. Mine have not faded, either.

Thank you, FairySpun Fibers! I don’t know what video you’re referring to that may have been misleading, but if it was the one I saw, it was misleading to put ALL alcohol inks in the same category! I’m going to see how many Let’s Resin inks I have for good projects and practice with the others! I have sooo many, I hope they’re mostly Let’s Resin! 😀 Thanks again!

@gregory helm That sounds like a really pretty color combo, Gregory, but keep in mind that most colored pastes are not as heavy as white titanium paste (which is very heavy, compared to other pigments). I *have* seen her use black as a bloom element, but can't remember how well it did for her. It was a geode tray/bowl pink silicone mold if I remember, correctly (?) and she used alternating rings of white and black pigment pastes.

@Patty Peterson Wow...I hope you didn't lose your whole house?!? Everyone okay? We'd have to know a LOT more details to make a guess at why this happened. What type and brand of resin, how deep your pour was, etc...

She does sell it in her eBay shop. I believe it is called the poinsettia tray. She also has matching coasters. She uses a small druzy insert in the middle then pulls it out when cured. The center will have lots of sparkling crystals. She sells small, medium and large druzy inlays in her shop too. She has all kinds of really cool inlays and videos how to use them.

@Janis Tabor Waters No, it won't. 😊 You may be thinking of holographic surfaces which DO disappear if coated in resin (or anything else).
