What a great idea, I think it's awesome. Maybe use your crushed velvet insert thingy? That would be gorgeous. Coming from a newbie that buggered up her first coaster yesterday, I think you're a legend, even your mistakes are legendary 😂 can't wait for the next one 💕

Being human it would be impossible to always predict the outcome of every new project. I guess that is why huge corporations invest heavily in R&D aka Research & Development. It is pretty with the foil in-place but that wasn't your goal. I recall when you utilized a cut-out placemat when creating a vase. It was an amazing transformation. Kudos to Julie for always finding new techniques to create beautiful pieces while keeping her fans entertained and in awe.

This looks awesome. I also like the foil in it. Maybe if you try to make a silicone replica of rhe foil and use it as an inlay. You will then be able to remove the inlay. Thank you for sharing. Love your ideas and experiments. At least we also learn with you 🌹🌹🌹🌹

I love it! Question, could you seal the inside with resin to make it useable and keep the foil incapsulated between the resin layers?

I think that it is still unique as is every resin piece that we make. What about silicone spray on the foil or some mold release. Love all you videos! Love from NB Canada!

Speaking of safty Miss Julie, please look into whether wearing a respirator mask is important with the type of resin you use. Despite not having much smell, many can release fumes which are quite toxic. Love your work and cheery videos!

Have you tried using a silicone mold release spray before you pour your resin? I bet, without the foil, this would make a wonderful lampshade done with heat resistant resin!

I love the crinkle effect! I think if you sprayed some mold release on the foil before you poured, it might help the foil come away easier!

VERY cool!. I think it would make an interesting hanging lampshade, a "Swag". It would focus all of the light below it, instead of out thru it. And the light would glow thru the drips around the bottom. A lightweight silver chain (swag) would look good with the foil. Yes, I'd love to see it as a lamp! Feels like a Jelly Fish.

Mold release or silicone oil would work I think! You could also put the foil on a thicker piece of plastic with some spray adhesive.. crinkle it, spray it with mold release, and set the whole thing in the mold with the plastic edges hanging out... that way you can pull the whole thing up and the plastic would already be in place for the drips!

Yes foil does not come off resin. Even with mold release. You have to put plastic between your resin and the foil. Thin plastic to get the texture imprint. Love your videos

Would you be able to use crumpled cellophane, instead of the tin foil, and get the texture you’re after but be able to remove it more easily? It probably wouldn’t have quite so much detail but would give you some I think … maybe 🤔 😂 Love your videos btw so thanks for all your hard work, inspiration and experimentation 😊

Just occurred to me...y'all may not have 'turkey' foil, but I'm betting you DO have heavy-duty BBQ (barbie?) foil? Bet that'd come off, especially with mold release spray, or...maybe brush the foil with mineral oil first? Would that harm the resin?

I think it is "Unique" . I really like it. The color is beautiful. On your next one, maybe use your alcohol inks in the rainbow colors, either in lines so you would have drips of all the colors or in circles but I don't think in stacked circles all the colors would come down in the drips but maybe. What do you think? But I believe the rainbow colors would be fun. 💕🤗💕😊

Personally I don't think it's a complete fail. Here's a stupid question I wonder if after you turn it over and letting it drip. If you were to make up just a little bit more of your colored resin and just pour down towards the bottom of the bowl to get more drips? Do you think that would work or no? Thanks so much for sharing ✌️🥰

This was a blast and I've never seen a drip bowl before. I wonder if you spray the aluminum foil with a spay oil and use a heavy duty aluminum foil if it would be removable ? I'm also wondering if it would have been better to make sure the foil was the exact round measurement of your mold or a half inch shorter instead of tucking the extra inside the mold. With the foil being 1/2 inch shorter the drips would have flowed better ????? This is all projection because I honestly don't have the answer. I loved the vedio and I'm loving those drips.

Hi Julie, I think the bowl looks great exactly as it is, the foil reflects the light and gives it a more icy look. If you use the side with the packing tape on it, then the resin will come away clean (You could also make your foil and tape liner extra large and use that to drip down too). I use packing tape to line moulds and it works great. Anything metal, the resin will stick like crazy even with mould release. (And yes, I found that one out the hard way) 😆

Hi Julie, if you use a much larger piece of foil and put it tape side up it shouldn't stick to the foil and would be easier to remove. Love the colour you've used 👌. You could cover the inside with a thin layer of resin and that would stop the foil coming off so it could actually be used. Maybe a colourful resin as you like colourful pieces or just the same colour inside? ❤️
