If the government faced the opposition fair and square and all this accusations comes after prn and after the "pn trying to take down the gov" issue has pass it would be more believable that and not talk so much about what the accused or opp leaders are doing to help their case (its better to smile and wave like mahathir when critized or insulted in parlimen). Right now it just look the same as the PAU situation where they say ready to fight and what not in the end sacking their loyal members who opposed them and depend on the gov to help out.

Academic is not politician. They talk without any commitment. In politics, money talks. Some people thinks that the public cannot be bribed. I beg to differ. A very sizable amount of voters love to be bribe. Give political party a hold on large sum of money and they will win voters in doves. Curtail their hands in money politics will help the incumbency big time. When you are speaking about people who lives from hand to mouth, do not expect them to be neutral and vote based on sentiments. Give them money and they will surely vote for you. This is something UMNO knows for the many years of politicking. The political guru does not have enough experience in this matter because he does not go to the ground and listen to the voters and know what they want. UMNO knows. They won many by election but no money to give in big scale election.

For the past few decades we have developed this culture of dependence, the system has been calibrated in such a way that you get the people on the ground chasing their own tails, too busy to take note of the issues beyond what they can get on the dinner table while the ones on top continue to perpetuate it with cash handouts and corruption. To eradicate corruptions or miss use of power, it needs to start somewhere. There is no such issue as selective prosecutions. What is wrong can never be right. A person needs to proof innocence in court
