Love Ian Bick! His show is excellent because he asks the ideal questions and then gives his guest the space they need to reflect and respond. His life experience gives his guests the nod to authenticity. He’s bright, sensitive and direct.

The HBO documentary was awesome but after this interview my views on him definitely changed. He’s definitely a good kid who had good intentions but went about it all the wrong way. Like you guys said there’s definitely two roads he can take now. If he does things honestly and does right by everyone, who knows what amazing things this guy can do. I just hope that once he gets a taste of the fame and popularity and gets put on a pedestal again that he doesn’t revert back to the teen aged Ian Bick. However, I do believe he’ll be put under a microscope moving forward. I would like to see a series telling the whole story more in depth such as how this interview went. Great interview boys.

I am a 19-year-old College student, and I can relate to Ian’s high school experience. Similar to Ian, I, too, was caught in the vicious cycle of seeking validation externally instead of internally. Instead of focusing on myself and getting a good GPA, I would waste time wondering what I can do to get everyone’s attention. Wearing bizarre outfits and breaking the rules were deeply ingrained habits for me. This behavior and attitude of trying to be the coolest kid in my class slowly consumed me, and I am now paying the price for it. It led to very low self-esteem and other insecurities, which could have been avoided if I didn’t make stupid mistakes and decisions growing up. When college began, I started cultivating the Self-Improvement mindset, and that is how I stumbled upon your RU-vid channel. Your content has been inspirational, not just because of all the videos pertaining to Fitness, but because you guys cover topics that lead to general wellbeing and living a better life. With that said, my situation is nowhere as bad as Ian’s. But I firmly believe that people can completely change and right their wrongs. After watching this podcast, it is clear that Ian has matured and adopted responsibility and embraced his past as a part of him instead of completely neglecting it. So, did Ian do something wrong? Yes. But does that make him a bad person? Absolutely not.

@@mutenroshi1163 a little late , I just stumbled into this channel from Ians own channel which I found through yet another . I don't disagree with anything you said , I think it's a mental mindset aswell , you need a strong one to begin with or find a way to develop one . I had a crap upbringing in group homes/orphanages... you get 3 meals a day & adult supervision but it's sterile & you're on your own pretty much , that's why a lot of kids from those places abuse drugs , go to prison or are dead . I skated on thin ice with drugs & the law . 18th birthday present is $20 & a public transport ticket to anywhere in your region , your out & no longer the governments problem or expense with no real prep for the real world . After 18months of drugs police interaction & a few court dates at 20 I 180ed & joined the Army , met my wife & served 8 years in the Army . I'm by no means an adjusted adult , I know criminals , 1% bikie gang members are some of my good friends but I don't do crime or drugs etc.... I developed what I call a moral compass , I don't lie cheat or steal but have no quarms about beating a pedophile , granny basher , wife abuser etc.... It would be a crime but in my mind justified & never touch another mans wife , wallet or kids . Sorry man , went down a rabbit hole & vented a little . Yes agree with fly out comment , good in you for recognising & working on your own flaws / weaknesses & the betterment of your life 👏👏 . Keep up the work , 1% improvement per day is 3.5 months to a 100% better you & reset the meter 3 more months etc....

This was probably one of my favorite episodes. I have listed to this podcast for a while, and this was a great mix of content! Ian had some major drive, and I think he just got caught up in some bad business that he didn't think would happen.

I really love the humility of this guy. It's obvious his street smarts are way beyond his age because of all he went through but he's not afraid to admit where he made mistakes. He's also really honest about the temptations of doing these stuff again, but I really love the answer he had about hosting concerts again and stuff -- how he should first rebuild his reputation and trust again before he delve back into that area of his life. I would so wanna see a tv series on his life!

He seems like a nice kid with good morals that got caught in some tough situations without the wisdom to find the way out. I work in finance and you see this happen in nearly every fraud case when good people get in a hole and hold on to the idea that they can make it out all on their own rather than being honest with their lender. Eventually something unexpected goes wrong and everything falls apart. It’s unfortunate but he’s lucky to have experienced this as a kid and not an adult with hundreds of employees or even a family that depend on him .

Why does the beginning of this story sound like Ferris Beuler? Should have been a Ferrari involved
@hangarhull148
@hangarhull148 3 года назад
he seems like a “cocky, overconfident” young man who had a ton of “unguided ambition,” and counted his chickens before they hatched. He had so much initiative and so much ability well beyond his years and all of those things should have led to a success story, but I think he took that a little too far, With Ian, you get the sense that if he had just made a few decisions differently, he could have been the kind of wunderkind success that people said he was,

What Ian did was wrong but he genuinely seems like he made his choices as an ignorant kid more than an intention to steal from people. While it doesn’t absolve him a lot of the investors in this case get little to no sympathy from me. Any parent who is giving their kids thousands of dollars to invest in a promotion being run by a 17 year old kid is an idiot. And as soon as their contracts guaranteed them their money back and/or guaranteed them a rate of return all prudent investors know that’s always a scam, especially if the guaranteed return is absurdly high like 50%. In reality a lot of the investors who lost out were greedy and took the chance to try and cash in on a quick big return hoping that he could float things for awhile. Again doesn’t absolve him but the wya he was even able to get the money from them shows that they weren’t entirely innocent victims in the thing.

This guy doesn't have what it takes to be successful. He was sitting around, confident in his success when he should have been working 80 hours a week to make sure his ventures made it through. He's way too optimistic, and didn't even bother to understand business fundamentals like tax deductions. He'll be fine now though. His fame will earn him a mil or two and he won't have to start another venture. if he does he'll be back to square one.

The guy is wise, he’s manipulative and on top of that he knows how to get their money doubled easily. But keeping them in dark, I mean where the money is coming from or is it even there is one of the biggest things for investors. In his show mostly are small investors initially like his friends and known so there he kinda loses their friendship also when he fails to explain the money dilemma to them. Although not a bad guy, there actually are alot of bad guy out there, he did something in his own way and the only thing was his way was a little bit shady.

This is one of those guys that I can’t easily judge how unlucky he is. On one hand that’s such a young age to go to prison and to think clearly about a ponsi scheme. On the other hand this guy’s talents are an exponential factor for whatever he is trying to achieve; and I don’t know if skills like that are teachable, they are incredibly valuable when used for good and legally. So yeah prison sucks but what a gift he has.

Thank you!! People are praising this kid, when he knowingly ripped people off. People can make mistakes but this guy made multiple mistakes and luckily got caught somewhat early. If you watch the Generation Hustle show on HBO, his first major show didn't even make money!! He was great at hosting local parties but when he tried to go mainstream, with no plan, that's when shit hit the fan, and fast. I hate when people praise others, who are thieves. Nothing this kid did was inspiring, he was just some nerdy ass guy, who wanted the fame, money, and women, who tried a get rich quick scheme
