It's quite a thrill driving a Steam Locomotive at speed and being able to come into platforms stopping at just the right mark. I drove steam for Queensland Rail from 2014 to 2019 and was classed Steam fireman in 2012.
Beautiful locomotive. Big wide grate. Well laid out cab. Easy steam powered (?) Reverser. Master of the task. Steams well on a ‘dished’ fire. Relaxed and confident crew. I hope the locomotive survived👍🤞
The reverser is steam powered yes. The good news is that she is still in existence, but in poor state. A few years after his was video was taken, she was scrapped and sent into "storage". Never ran since. That was about 27 years ago.
